Thanks, much appreciated. Be creative with you starting point. Try routes that Iberia fly. Availability really sucks at the minute. We ended up using one for Italy last year just to use it up. May be try somewhere you wouldn't normally go.
The USA tends to have the most availability. Depends how many avios do you have currently and what sort of destinations interest you? If you don't have many but want to experience Business Class you could do London to Madrid on the A330/A350 If you want send us a message through our Instagram and we'll have a look for you 👍
@liftoffandtravel i want a long haul to make the most out of it. I only have 36k points because I used a lot on a previous flight 🥲 I will message you at some pointm thank you so much
So as BA haven't served this route in years you could Cathay Pacific or Qatar. Use the standard search as you won't get any results in the reward finder because it will only show you BA planes and this route is not served.
Amex perhaps being a little sneaky recently changed the rules. If you have the BA Blue then you can only go for economy. If you have the BA black when achieving the 2for1 you can go for any seat. Unfortunately this can't be changed. We would suggest next time upgrade to the black before it processes.
Hi - if I have 1 companion voucher and I want to book myself and my wife, do I search for 2 passengers travelling? Does that mean I use double the amount of Avios?
If it's the American Express companion voucher then make sure you put 2 passengers. If you compare putting 1 person you should see once you've selected the voucher the avios half. The fees sadly are always per person 😉 So in short the voucher gets you the second person for free + cash fees
Unfortunately I've used mine but Brent checked and if you find availability on the rewards finder. Go back to standard avios search and you will see any vouchers that are available to use and then input the same departure airport, destination and dates 👍✈️
So basically it's £400 either way for the fees and taxes. Normally it would be 80,000 miles to fly. The new voucher allows a solo traveller to half the miles. Or if travelling as two people pay one person miles not two 👍 So the saving is on the miles the money
