I've seen a lot of these videos with the American girl and the British girl in it, I'm from the easy coast like her and I can relate to her so much 💀, as for the British girl idk what the heck she's taking about except for the a couple of things but that's cause I ain't from England, I wanna learn how to do an accent like hers because it sounds so neat and fancy
@@Andre-ip2uo trust me on this I’m a Brit and I can’t speak London English. American is much speasier (although I still spell in standard British English)
as a non-native English speaker, I've always found the American accent easier to understand and speak, sounds more passive yet friendly. Whereas the British accent sounds more fancy and appealing and is a little hard to copy
its generally the opposite for most non-natives lol. American accent's have quite jarring details compared to the rounded ness of other english accents
I had a bit of a British accent from watching a RU-vidr called DanTDM long time ago so I have a bit more of an easy time speaking in that kind of accent... I rarely speak regularly these days though so my tongue gets twisted at times when I do...
@@valerijajovanovic2020 watching a movie or show with American accents is completely fine but hearing an American in real life just throws me off completely.
@@bruvwagwan She is talking about the RP accent. This is the standardised received pronunciation when learning the language. Nobody is talking about regional dialects here.
@@davidthompson4383 you're right. i've got a heavy West Yorkshire accent and sound opposite of fancy and elegant, but I agree that regional accents/dialects didn't need to be brought up since the original commenter was talking about Emily's RP
@@-mle566 its normally just down to cultural differences- i wouldnt call it arrogance because humility is very important in the uk, taking the piss slightly is just the english girl trying to build familiarity and create a comfortable atmosphere.. the way she gives friendly touches shows that theres no bad intent. i guess for others it may also just be rather hard to pretend you like how americans pronounce words for 7 minutes.
@@-mle566 because British looks all aspect like the way you spoke, the way you act, and got annoyed if they found it quite different from them, meanwhile in America, its don't matter at all.
@@emmal7612 No bruh..I watched the video clearly...And I saw that in spite of the American girl was annoyed for the British girl's behaviour though she was quite cuz she knows how to respect everyone! And as you said that it's because of she said she doesn't like the American accent...I didn't mean that...I meant the American girl is better for me...Maybe not for you...You may have a different opinion and I do respect it
Cristina has always been the example of not every American are Rude and Straightforward! They can be friendly and humble as well just like Cristina personality
Looking at her body language, you can see it screams posh. She giving me major Emily Blunt The Devil Wears Prada vibes with that passive aggressive and entitled mannerism, and even look-wise with he red hair and fair skin, though physically she looks more like Emilia Clarke. Both very gorgeous girls. The American girl certainly looks too exotic for a white girl in the US. She looks like she is from somewhere in Eastern Europe. Very beautiful feline eyes and fair skin. I noticed the American chick picked up a lot of Korean mannerism too. 5:45 the hand over the mouth is very Korean girls way of giggling. 5:51 응 6:01 아 6:05 아.....
I’m British, and I agree. American English is usually taught in native countries, since your words are put more easily. Where as in Britain we learn English in advance with different words from America.
. What really? I never thought of it because of my accent (British) and I thought I comes natural. I myself is not British but I can say my English is probably on point 🤔
not necessarily. I'm in China Shanghai but stayed in Australia for three years and the people around me generally have a terrible sounding half-baked American Chinese accent rolled into one. I've only met two people in the whole of China that would be ruled by me into having a decent American accent. Me, I've stayed in Sydney for three years and I'm mostly the British accent but pronounce the vowels the American way, but I can do either thorougly. Personally I like the British accent more cuz it sounds a bit posh and dignified.
@@bethabera5893 British people don't like French accent, German, Russian, Australian, Canadian, Irish, hell! they don't even like the accents from their own cities, e.g. someone from Manchester vs someone from Liverpool.
@@CesarGarcia-nd5xz they were quoting the video... and I said that cuz it matched.. the video said "British people do not like the American accent" then they said "But americians like the british accent"
I am speaking from Bangladesh. Your videos are amazing, I have learned a lot from this video, I have never seen a video like your channel on youtube, my relatives also watch your videos.
The American accent is effortless. For some reason nearly every English actor does it perfectly. Even myself, I'm Chinese, and over the phone everyone thinks I'm American. My Filipino friend said I sounded, "hella white." On the other hand, when I attempt a received pronunciation, English persons just tell me to stop. "Please don't."
@@Qichar It's better not to attempt Received Pronunciation if you don't know how to do it, as if you do it wrong it sounds like a Chinese person having a stroke.
Yes I like the American girl much because of her tone of speaking like she is very humble. But never judge ,British girl could also be humble from inside.
I'm England born and raised and I love the American accent! The American girl is so polite and we'll mannered whereas the English girl comes across as quite rude at times!
In Taiwan, when we learn English, we learn the American accent. However, I went to learn English in Sheffield, England one summer when I was in college. That year is 1997. It just took me almost two weeks to finally understand "schedule" in English accent when my homestay hostess pointed to my schedule and said, "According to your schedule." By the way, at the language school, the English teachers always tried to "fix" our American accent. They really didn't like it.
The British are far, far more protective of their version of English than Americans are. American English teachers wouldn't correct your British accent if you had one.
I'm sorry but I found it rude the way the British girl acknowledged, teased, etc. towards the American girl and the American accent. And still... the American girl was so sweet.
I find her an honest person which is good for those watching this video. And yeah, the american girl is so sweet that I would give her a slight slap (you know where 😎) (which is rude 😈)
She was doing exactly that, teasing and joking. It was an open invitation to the American girl to joke back at her, it's how we Brits make friends. If you can't take the piss out of your mates then who can you?
In Spain, being in Europe, we start learning English at the age of 6 nowadays (it used to be later in the 80's) and we're used to the British way of saying things. However, there's a great deal (another UK expression) of media showing American movies, shows, documentaries, RU-vidrs, that made foreign learners end with a mix of both worlds.
Exactly! I am French and in some situations I will use the British word "holiday" (not "vacation") but in another situation I will use the American word "subway" and not "underground".
Same with me here, i used to learn English in the British way at school but then it's getting mixed with American due to medias. So yeah, i don't even realize anymore whether i speak in British way or American way right now
Yup same but i live in Dubai and well we have to speak English from the age of 4 and I study in a British school but i still use a lot of American words and let's go on my accent it's like a mix
Brits have suppressed jealousy probably due to their fading relevance, hence the reason they keep that royal family in the forefront. It reminds them of a time when they actually meant something.
what does the royal family have to do with anything, britain literally made america, we supplied the south with supplies to win the civil war you muppet
Oddly enough, almost everyone here noted how arrogant Emily came off and how humble you came off. We don't know Emily so we all gave her the benefit of the doubt. Just don't change who you are.
I am British and I was reading the comments before I even watched the video, thinking that people were calling the English girl proud because of her accent, but honestly I’ve never seen someone so outwardly patronising!! So rude
I’m pretty sure she was joking, because clearly the American girl wasn’t offended she was even laughing with her, idk why everyone is so pressed about this, because if it really did bother the American girl she’d tell her to tone it down and maybe in other videos she wouldn’t act like this.
I hate it when people think their nation is better than everyone elses, that's what the British girl is doing in this video. Just respect other nations
Perhaps that's why people around the world would prefer to copy American accent more than British style.., Cause the accent is so arrogantly mannered. XD I'm from a former British colony nation, and we're studying English of British but ended up speaking with American pronounciation
I HAVE INCURRED SO MUCH LOSSES TRADING ON MY Own...I TRADE WELL ON DEMO BUT I THINK THE REAL MARKET IS MANIPULATED...CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT OR AT LEAST TELL ME WHAT I'M DOING WRONG ?

@@OanhNguyen-mj4hf USA (United States of America) is a country in North America, a continent. The Americas is made up of two continents: North America and South America. Most people in the US either say America or Americans to identify themselves or their country, which is just the same as the US. Both America and the US/USA is correct.
@@markinvisiblyunnoticed9458 No, you've just described "The Americas". North and South America together is only described as "America" when speaking Spanish and usually only in the Latin American part of the world. In English it's either "The Americas" to refer to both together, or North America/South America. In English, America is the USA.
It first came about because the Upper class started speaking in a posh way after the American revolution to differentiate themselves from Americans and the lower class.
I mix British accent and american I'm Nigerian and standard English is British. Color is spelt colour here But american movies are so widespread we mix it up Now I try IELTS training and can't even place my accent properly. Add the mother tongue accent influence and we Nigerians have our very own accent. 😊
Besides the accent, which is obviously differente... I can see in this video the difference in personality of the two girls. What do you all think? For me, I prefer the American girl personality.
I don't know how is their personality in real life...but according to how both of these girls act in this video...I would prefer the American girl......100%... She looks simple, polite, and beautiful❤
I come from an Asian country. Personally I love American accent and don’t like British one. American accent sounds more softly and comfortably for me to listen.
The US is actually very accepting of differences. then Christina really appreciates differences. whereas UK feels superior and elegant then she looks a bit annoying.
Not everyone, I found some American comments sometimes who’re being superior and feeling they’re better than anyone else.. so there’s good and bad in every country 🙏🏼
I don’t get why everyone’s saying that the British girls mean she’s actually pretty funny and is just joking around and being sarcastic in a funny way lol
i think you should see the pervious interview where they were asked to tell the difference between British and American english , she was disrespectful
As a French girl it’s kind of funny and surprising to see how I mix both languages. I think the English girl is Right, when we were young, we watched a lot of American TV show but in school, we learn how to speak in a British way so it was complicated to get the difference between these two 😅
Idk how yall are saying she's a snob everyone is saying she was being rude when she was litteraly just teasing also just because you have a British accent it doesn't make you a snob not everyone in Britain has a British accent actualy British accent don't even exist lol
I found it fascinating how the American accent and the British accent are different. While studying English words, I knew that American pronunciation and British pronunciation varied, but hearing them directly made the differences stand out clearly. The American pronunciation gives off a nostalgic feeling, while the British pronunciation feels concise and beautiful. Although their pronunciation is different, I believe both are excellent ways of speaking. I'm looking forward to a video comparing your language's pronunciation. Why don't you consider comparing the pronunciation of languages other than English next time?
american accents clash a lot more, like pin and pen, can and can't. I think you just spent more time listening to american accents because in general it shouldn't be any easier.
I’m Japanese from Japan that immigrated to Australia so I’m not biased when I say that every encounter I’ve had with Brits were a bit rude and tend to talk trash about Americans for no reason. Americans were EXTREMELY friendly it’s a bit creepy lol but they always talk amazingly about brits for no reason. And I can see it a lot in this video
I'm neither British nor American, but I feel that the British have a strong rivalry with the Americans. I don't know why. Maybe it's because the Americans have a strong influence? Anyway, I don't know.
@@CoolDude-jp1kj I know. But the Brits seem very nice to Canada and Australia. But when they hate America, isn't it because of rivalry? Historically, the UK is the parent and the US is the son, but today the US is bigger than the UK in terms of economy, military, influence, etc., so it seems to me that the UK is rivaling them. Well, I am an outsider and these are just my opinions.
@@delrey874 as a British person I can say that I personally don’t hate America neither does a lot of British people HOWEVER we do find Americans to be annoying when they act superior to us and criticise the way we speak OUR language acting like they’re right.
