Hi, My son has recently passed assessment, so some advice from that experience. 1. Get your ears checked BEFORE you go. A couple of lads were told they needed to get their ears syringed and a letter signed by their GP before they would get a start date. 2,.Get all you medical history checked out with your GP for any missing notes My son was born in Spain and we have had to get a Spanish solicitor to do the forms to get his history there. Still waiting! But luckily I had kept copies of a lot of medical letters and notes which were acceptable. He is however waiting on a missing page of notes from when he had his tonsils out nearly twenty years ago in the UK! The army is paying a lot of money to train you, so they really want a full medical history. We have begun to watch most of your videos and the information is invaluable.
Thanks this is very helpful even tho I'm joining the Irish army. Im so glad both our nations are currently serving together in places like Mali and training together. Much respect.
Got denied 3 times wasted 6 years trying. First was on me I was 2kg over my height:weight limit and was never taught how to lose it but still passed the aptitude and physical tests. Second I was told they'd filled their quota for the year but knowing this still let me go through all the testing and interviews... Last exit interview I was told that because I didn't wear a suit jacket on the hottest day of the year I wasn't being considered despite acing my aptitude and physical tests. Only one of my family in 1500 years that couldn't get in to the armed forces and the regret has haunted me to this day. Went on to be an MoD building contractor because I love being on base and interacting with our forces personnel but still would've loved the opportunity, I spent 5 years in cadets and thrived in that environment.
@@MilitaryFitness it is what it is just wasn't meant to be I guess and later learned there was some issues with the recruiters stationed at both offices I applied at. I'll just be reminding them of this if a draft ever comes because I had my heart set on and motivation to apply for the regiment one day. Still proud that I get to improve the living conditions for our men and women nation wide now.
rewatching this video, after passing my medical appeal , got my ears sorted, had 10+years of hard wax built up in my left ear so glad that's gone lol. now i got my army briefing and interview next week , so watching this video helps allot also got to do a cognitive test before the briefing or interview.
This video is so helpful I have my selection on Monday I'm very confident about it and doing so much research to ensure I'm ready thankyou for this video
I did all my research, and the interview wasn't assessed; 3 years after this video to be fair. It was treat as more of a review and whether I had any queries.
This would have been helpful back in 2002 when I did pre-RCB then RCB. Back then though we just figured it out. If I’d had this though I would have used it for sure. From my initial interview to walking through Old College gates took me almost exactly 6 months. Started Jan 6th 2003. Commissioned Dec 2003…think it was Dec 13th.
Hi bud. Thanks for the vid. Very helpful. Just starting to prepare myself for the assessment. I’m just not to sure how to dress for the interview. Is like trousers, shirt and tie smart enough or would you recommend a full suit? Thank you mate.
I'm 28 years young and applying to the british army in March or April this year, and really excited to do so. Can someone tell me if the british army still put individuals through a driving test if one doesnt currently have one ? Any info is greatly appreciated.
Hello ! Great video, I’ve got my assessment in March, hopefully I’ll get in for Military Intelligence. I was wondering if you could do a video for things that might pop up in the interview for intelligence? Or have you got some tips for me ?! I’m nervous 😂
Good morning/afternoon or evening. I would like to say that this video has helped me to understand what a process it takes to complete. I have already planned out a career for myself, and I am only 13 years old. I have been wondering, if I joined the British army, would a degree such as Chemical Engineering or anything identical to this be any use? I do sometimes worry if this is a correct choice that I am making. Should I talk to my career advisor about this and discuss further planning towards the Army? Would you Military Fitness have any advice for me that I may be one step closer to achieving my goal? If so, that would be great to know. If not, thats fine. I do understand that I have a while to decide whether this will be my final career that I wish I want to do. I have also signed up to Army cadets if that is any better. I personally enjoy spending time with others and work as a team when it comes to drill and much more. I hope to hearing a response from you.
Joined Army 1980. Walked in to careers centre. She asked Why you here. Replied want to join up. Royal Anglian Regiment if possible. Forms filled out tests passed then weekend at Harrogate Fully understand the new procedures but just wonder if this puts off some young ones. Just a thought.
@@MilitaryFitness sad really. Some great people out there being put off. I’ve been involved with Army Engagement Team in my role as SSAFA Divisional Manager and the members of public invited said exactly same thing.
Interesting, so there is an interview like a standard job? I always assumed... At least in the states... That all u needed was willingness and some basic requirements like 85 IQ and basic physical standards.
@@curt6926 I got 96 in my cog test and 53/55 in my TST, had to go get a heart scan done a week later before I could do my fitness tests so I’ve got my fitness tests this Wednesday (2 days) but they shouldn’t be a problem🤟🏼
That will be on the joining instructions that you receive before going. Due to Corona virus the interview is shorter abs they are only really asking the main questions in the interview, but usually it’s short and tie
@@MilitaryFitness I have my assessment in 2 days and my instructions didn’t mention any dress code for the interview, when I asked my recruiter on the phone he told me smart casual like a polo shirt
@@MilitaryFitness I did selection in 2012 there was no pandemic? It really makes all new recruits worried stuff like this when at the end of the day it's not as hard as it seems and the interview isn't an interview it's more just to let you know how well you have done
It’s not new. Maybe some assessment centres are really clamping down on the amount of time spent there due to Corona virus that they have canned the interview for a month or two
I have my Assessment Centre in 9 days however with the researching part that this video covers is completely different from what I have been told as I've been told to just know my Phase 1 and 2s and the Armys Values and Standard and also just focus on doing as much exercise as possible.
Question would they send the cognitive test the real examination for you to do at home or you would go at the assessment center to you the cognitive test?
Hello, I’m heading to the assessment centre soon but am slightly worried about English and maths tests as well as the cognitive test, I have a science degree but am heavily dyslexic so failed my gcse maths and English and am not great at tests. Should I worry?
@@MilitaryFitness Thank you very much because I need a lot of information about it so know what to do, when to join and how long it will take for the application.
1. Do you hate being shouted at and told what to do and when to achieve the operational effectiveness of the unit .... yes (uv passed question 1) 2. Do you hate runing in the rain and being thrashed on PT in order to get fitter and build mental and physical resilience? ... Yes ( you have now passed question 2) Finally 3 will you greet and Mon if you get made to Leppard craw bak to ur personal weapon system because u left it at ur arce ... then accuse the DS of bullying ?? ... Yes grate Your hired welcome to the Army . If you answer No to any of the above. Then good luck with you mc donalds application you have failed ur army interview 😂
I have a question Sam? As I am an American free and independent and totally dissolved of British rule I often ask myself, since you are an agent of Great Britain since your a British soldier, do you hate America since America declared independence from Great Britain and killed thousands of British troops when the British soldiers were just doing what they were told?
