Awesome, thanks for all the insight of what phase 2 might be like. Haven't even started basic yet but thought it'd be a good idea to see what's coming up. Cheers for all the great informative vidoes!
currently in the process of getting my fitness up to be able to join the REME as a vehicle mechanic. With your other videos helping with workouts and videos such as these helping to explain some of the unknown factors of the army it has helped massively. Keep up the awesome work and cheers
Interesting how it as changed since my days ,Went to sunny Bordon for phase 2 Jan 85 left end of Sept 85 ..Day started about 7 if i remember ,parade in front of the accomodation ,then we had to march all the way to the class in the training area ..At the end of the day unless you had duties ie guard ,or there was an inspection the following day your time was for you to do what you want ,.no military training ...Accomodation was 4 man rooms..so easier to keep clean ..Again weekends unless on duty was your's to do as you wish...Back in my day ,i was a VMB ,if you failed your 1st exam Maths / Science ,there was no resit ,you where binned as a VM and asked to choose something else ie Driver as R.E.M.E . had theri own drivers back then...In my 12 years every unit i was at did block leave, with a rear party...
I’m currently a year 10 in army cadets. I’m joining Harrogate next year (2025) September. I’m hoping to join REME and your videos are a massive help with preparing and information we need to know that’s not very obvious. Keep up the great work
Thanks for the video! Great to hear about what we can expect. I did have a question, is it ever possible to live off camp during phase two if you are in a long term relationship? Other channels suggest surplus married quarters could be an option if available?
Unless you are married it would be very difficult to get a surplus married quarter. If you spoke to welfare though, they would certainly try and help you out.
For all REME techs, phase 2 is (was) intense from an educational point of view - don't piss the time away. When you pass request an LAD (armoured infantry) not a REME battalion.
Amazing content!!. Been glued to this channel for months. I apologise if this isn't relevant to the topic but in your personal opinion would an old knee injury hinder your progression in phase 1 training?due to how physically demanding it can be?
@@MilitaryFitnessHello Sam, you should make a video about the different cap badges/berets, and if two berets look the same, like the RMC and SBS, what makes them different. And keep up the good work.
If you go infantry long course at afc Harrogate is that 42 weeks your phase1, then say for para your phase 2 would be para depot at Catterick after that
I have passed this on to Grandsons who have 1 yr left at school. Not interested in the navy! Would love to get them to see what an army base looks like before they leave school! I started the navy equivalent in 1977!! Oh those were the days!! Here is a true story. Back then, if you were under 17, you got free chocolate bars every week!
Whats a good workout to train for beep test. Havent worked out in 4 months gained 10kg haha... Ima start boxing and lifting again but wanna put more excersies in
Hi Sam. I’m your number 16th fan. I’m in the U.S. Army but even though our armies fought against one another in the American war of independence and also the war of 1812 I still respect you as a man. I truly do. Let’s not let the American war of independence and also your army’s burning of my White House get in the way of our friendship. Please. It happened a long time ago. Anyways can I come visit you in Texas oh and by the way don’t be scared of fort bliss, fort Sam Houston and fort hood. Well maybe fort hood. It’s called fort hood for a reason. We have the greatest military in history so you may see advanced warfare and highly prestigous troops training to defeat a possible invasion of Great Britain to regain territory to get America back to the union of Great Britain.
Can a single soldier adopt a child & if so how would that work? If possible could you make a video about it in the future? Thank you and am really enjoying your content 🇬🇧👍
Whats your views on the modern army do you think fitness has dropped or is it different and are they still allowed to beast you or did people complain to much about it?
Yes, join an infantry regiment. I don't think you can request sniper training until you're in a unit but make it clear up front as part of your 5 year plan.
Thank you very much. If I sign up for Paras do i do Paras Basic in Phase 1 ? And what can I expect in Phase 2 as a Paratrooper? What should I learn as it is a combat role, sir?
@@heinobezuidenhout674 it looks like your phase 1 and 2 are almost combined into a 24 week package which includes basic soldiering and then P Coy selection
Amazing video! quick question, what do soldiers get kicked out for? as in; if they work hard but arent quite hitting the mark will they be given extra training or do they just get kicked?
@@MilitaryFitness oh brilliant! Just making sure that if i take too long to adjust or etc. also sorry for the questions, but how does the qualifications work? do you get qualifications after phase 2? or stuff like degrees happen whilst you're working as a soldier? because im eager to be able to work hard and work towards a degree at the same time (if possible).
Hi mate I have infintry as my first choice and RMP as second. Does your barb test score stay throughout your career, if I was to have a change of mind is it hard to transfer from infintry to RMP I met the required score to have RMP at assessment centre. Thanks
@@MilitaryFitness thanks for the reply, would you also know if my barb test score would stay with me or would that have to be repeated. Thanks a million
@@nathancondron3810 you only do it the once just to get streamlined. If you want to change trades or cap badge and that trade requires a higher score you may have to do an entrants exam for it
@@nathancondron3810 no not really. Once you have done your Barb they will then check your GCSE’s etc to make sure that you have enough grades to qualify for the trade that the Barb put you in. Once that is done and you are in the army it will then just go off your academics and not the Barb
@@philipshearer5286 your rft will pretty much be 4km with about 34kg then a 2km best effort with about 20kg (it can differ dependent on cap badge etc.) then you will have a series of tasks to complete called RMT’s.
