I think incorpatiing stories of local people would be a great addition. So many channels are rather narcissistic-all about the person, rather than about the place or the people. It would set your channel apart and be interesting.

The best thing about travelling alone is that people tend to be less afraid to approach you for a chat. You can easily get people into a conversation by simply asking them if they know about some local secret places that they'd be willing to share with you and then simply carry on from there. I totally agree that meeting people and hearing their stories is simply a cherry on top of all the other adventures during your tour. Just a thought I wanted to share with you! Must add: Loved the shot you did when arriving at Mayson lake, thumbs up for that!

I’ve really enjoyed this series. It’s easy to underestimate the effort involved, but it’s an inspiration and actually, a little escapism for me, living in the over crowded uk. I still enjoy riding, for the most part after 40 years, but I’m always chasing that riding dream which I’m never going to find here…. at least not on this scale. This is the next best thing. It reinforces a sense of adventure that we should never lose, in whatever way. Good work 🙂✌️

Absolutely, a huge amount of work. I understand the escapism part as I dream of that too even though I live on Vancouver Island for 25yrs now. It attracts many to the island. It’s so close to me yet so far - I don’t seem to have the time to enjoy longer motorbike trips. Sterling’s work is golden and cures some of that need. I just recently found his channel and it’s a gem! Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Sterling I have watched most of your videos over the last few years and like others have said they keep getting better. I like the idea of more people content. Everybody has a story whether they know it or not. They may not think they are interest but I know I always find it interest why people do what they do. 60 years ago in grade school one of the things that has stuck with me for writing a story is the 5 W's (Who, What, Where, When & Why). Also you show us a lot about your trips and your documentation thru video, but I think it would be interesting to know about you and how and why you plan your adventures. Great stuff keep it up. Half the fun on most of my longer (2-3 week) motorcycle trips was finding a better way to tweet & modify your gear or the way you do sh*t (call it work flow-:) on a trip. So tips & tricks & gear reviews are always welcome. 42 days without rain is a gift - I must say. Lots of the memorable parts of my bike trips have been stumbling upon a great place to eat and drink something cold. (usually involving a body of water) Since you axed - I'm indifferent to extended interviews with proprietors. Meh...

For whatever reason, I enjoyed this episode the most so far. People’s stories are a fascinating mine of information and as it relates to motorcycle film making has pluses and minuses. A plus is that a solo motorcyclist is approachable and people generally are interested in you! A minus is it will require more dedicated stationary time-not moving on down the hiway. I’m in for it if you are!

Capsules could be separated in : People (and their places), places (scenics), Services ( ferries, dealers, etc) and Historical. Looks big, but if done linearly following the main series Im sure its doable. I'm no videographer, but Im sure this could be of a good use of the takes you have that you can't fit in the main serie your doing. Sterling I realy love to follow you on your trips. Making a motorcycle trip like yours is one of my long time dreams but it is not in the cards anymore I’m sad to say. However I’m going on a camper trip with my family in June. And you’ve inspired me to go and see some nice places in the midwest. Thanks for taking me and lots of others along on your journeys and sharing these beautiful places and stories with us. Hope to see more of you and journeys in the future. Best regards Norman from the Netherlands.

Yes I enjoyed this one, great episode! Really like clips where you chat with locals, it adds another dimension that completes the vicarious nature of your brilliant films.

Bingo dude…hit some hotels…take it easy and enjoy the journey. Getting to know a quaint little town to stop in with a “Jonquil” charm and vibe!

Sterling, very good idea to add interviews with locals as it allows us to learn more and drive us to include these places in our own trips Keep up the great work! Thanks again for all you do for the ADV community.

Always a pleasure…hope to see you when it gets cold here and we head to Southern AZ. Some riders are staying in the B&B next door from the east coast say they watch your channel regularly…small world. Hi to Eva.

Where your bike fell over at the roadside pull-in, myself and a friend camped. Just put the tent up and crashed after a big day that took us to Nemiah Valley and Bella Coola.

these accidents can happen anytime to anybody, handling a large bike fully loaded is tricky. so no need for self-blame. luckily you were able to keep going. your way of traveling is like mine, only I stay on paved roads. it's nice to discover small places, have a chat with the owner of a road house or the attendant at a gas station. and yes, simplification is the key. I really do not understand those who carry a trailer behind the bike with a whole set of support equipment. probably they can be more "independent" from civilization, but the price to pay in terms of complication, organization, time to set up camp, etc is far to high for me. At the other end of the scale there are those who sleeps on the ground under a tarpaulin, and have a snack for dinner, ride off in the morning to the closest town to have breakfast. have a good return back home!

How did you end up there? You are taking a interesting route through my hood. When you said you were looking for a camp sit, I thought of three that were on a lake and were close by. Mayson Lake wasn't one of them.
