The Cold War lasted a LOOONG time. During that time, a whole lot of really smart people put a lot of effort into designing weapons specifically to defeat Russia. Now, we're seeing the results of that 70+ year effort.

I think one of the things people overlook is the ability of the US to work together. I know it is cliché but the ability of the infantry, armor, close air support, fast movers, guided missiles from destroyers and subs is mind boggling and hasn’t been fully unleashed in the modern era.

Another key difference is training and command structure and tradition. May sound trite, until you consider that within various battlefield ranks, much latitude is given to soldiers, Marines and airmen to spot weaknesses in enemy forces or better position for US assets and EXPLOIT THOSE. Russian military are taught to obey senior command and not operate without specific orders from say company or higher command. Initiative outside command is not a feature Russian, or Soviet, or Imperial Romanov forces, exercise.

i heard something from a WWII veteran that went something like "if you fire and the enemy responds with mortars, rifle, and aircraft it's the British, if you receive machine gun and accurate artillery it's the Germans, area rockets and submachine guns it's the Soviets, and if the whole world starts blowing up around you from every direction with every weapon it's the Americans.

I'm American and I do a lot of work with weapons/equipment manufacturing. It's extremely difficult work and has very strict with standards. We have very smart hardworking people dedicated to create these items but at the same time innovating for other manufacturing processes, improving energy, healthcare, and general safety. So as we contribute to a strong military we also contribute to a better world overall. It's extremely rewarding. You'd be surprised with how many small companies and start ups try to enter this industry to improve many things and get the slice of the profits.. even right from their garage.

One of Tom Clancy's later books pitched a scenario where Russia became friendly with the West, and an aggressive China invaded Siberia to gain its natural resources. The US came to Russia's aid and during the climactic battle a Russian general, witnessing the US military at work against the Chinese, turned to his colleague and said "and we thought we could beat the Americans?" This is that moment come to life. The problem is that while Russia's military is a joke, its nuclear arsenal isn't. Even if it's only 1% effective, that's still 60 thermo nuclear warheads.

I couldn't imagine seeing a volley of drones flying out of a recon drone like at 6:56. I would be mortified

As an American, we need to know what we have and our military complex, but not to be arrogant. We're only 1 technological advancement from China, Russia, or North Korea away from being blindsided.

Another thing to add about the himars, we've only been giving them missiles with limited range, 92 km or 57 miles. We have ones that go 300 km, 186.4 miles, and are just as accurate while ones with 500 km, 310.7 miles, range are currently in development

the armies long range missile program is crazy as that 500 mile range one is the short range missile in the program....

Using wooden fakes to confuse and confound the enemy has always been done, but the "Ukraine Strategy" is close to what the Allys did \with "Operation Bertram" in 1942.

The Germans set up fake shore guns before D Day which the allies bombed. Leaving many of Germanys well camouflaged real guns untouched.

I have actually seen some of the weapons in tv shows & films over the years. The Switchblade (or something similar) was on a recent episode of Seal Team. They are obviously a great tool for special forces teams!

@The Beesleys, the man pads have on more than one occasion been used to strike down Russian missiles in Ukraine. Which is absolutely BRILLIANT!

To see more about military deception you should check out some videos about the "Ghost Army" of WWII. Brilliant illusions which caused the enemy to waste time and resources on battling special effects and props.
