South Park is some of the best cultural satire ever produced. The clips are funny in their own right, but within the context of the episodes, they are even funnier.
It's actually one of the least random of the adult cartoons. 99% of the jokes have to do with the story, not like Family Guy where 99% are cut aways that don't have to do with the story. Such a great series
Family guy episode about going Skiing : ''Hey, do you guys remember that time I fetched a Sea Cucumber from the Black Sea with W. George Bush and Enrique Iglesias?'' and back to skiing we go
I've actually been to South Park, Colorado around 2005-2006 when I was about 13 and 14 years old. I traveled there 2 years in a row to hunt elk on the mountains directly east of the town, and we stopped in there a few times. It was pretty cool when I rode my mule to the top of the mountain and could see South Park miles away, across a long flat valley. At the time, it really was a quiet little mountain town, like the South Park movie says in the opening song. I think I did at little video recording when I was on the top, but I'm not sure where the tape is. There was a great big mountain to it's north that was barren on the top 1/3rd portion. My dad said it was because trees couldn't grow at that high of elevation.
Fairplay is the small town in the southern part of Park County Colorado. It apparently is still pretty small with a population of about 724 people as of 2020
South Park debuted in 1997 and is still goin, and is just as brutal as ever (if not moreso now). Season 26 just finished in March or April, and it's renewed until I think season 30, and will likely be renewed after that. So currently it has been running for 26 years and will continue to run to a minimum of 30. And yeah, none of the stuff in this show is really random the way it is in Family Guy (South Park actually rips into Family Guy once or twice for their style of writing). There are lots of different plots and side stories, and all of these clips make sense in context.
South Park is certainly successful enough to keep going, however I doubt it will. Aside from the fact that the creators, Trey Parker & Matt Stone signed a $900 million deal for 14 hour long specials, or movies, and more seasons up until 2027, they're both getting old. Trey Parker & Matt Stone write or co-write every single episode of South Park to this day, they've done that since the beginning. They also do most of the voices. With their Broadway show being a huge hit & them wanting to make more movies & creating the South Park video games, it's difficult to keep up the work on South Park. That's probably a big part of why the last few seasons have been like six episodes.
They also said if the series stopped...They would just keep it going with amazing games every now and then I saw in one interview...Next one is being worked on now.
Speaking about weird teachers, I had a guy that was brought into my high school film or literature class for a couple weeks that is also a critically acclaimed stage actor. And he was a weirdo. We were reading lines for something and he stopped the lesson to stroke my hair (back when i had lush hair). I took it and laughed it off, but i looked at my actual teacher who was at his desk like "wtf was that!"
This is random because it is a compilation of the best moments.. I would suggest watching best of Butters, or best of Mr Garrison, or Best of Cartman, or Best of Randy Marsh! that would be a better compilation instead of these random scenes. The best moments is really for people who are more familiar with the characters. I love South Park! Definitely react to more South Park! :)
"When I make jokes they're inherent to a story. Deep, situational and emotional jokes based on what is relevant and has a point. Not just 1 random joke interchangeable joke after another " Eric Theodore Cartman Cartoon Wars part 1
OH. The Inbetweeners reference. Loved that show too!! South Park stared in the late 90's and is still going on. But still, The Inbetweeners. I was just watching clips a few weeks ago!
The Lobster Boy Skit Has Maury Povich picture on the wall, a Daytime TV Host that had weird things on all the time. There are a Bunch of Strictly American Sub Cultures attached to this show which makes it truly funny. The writers do take on a huge variety of topics some Mainstream and some Dark and Taboo.
Most people in the comments have already said it but they're right: The full episodes give so much more context to what's going on. The situations and crazy antics are still there, but at least you get the idea of what the hell is happening most of the time. I used to love watching South Park as a kid, but there's so much more I see in an episode as an adult. There's so much social commentary in the show and even though you have to suspend your belief for a lot of the things that go down in the episodes, you can really see that a lot of the situations are exaggerated and sometimes hilarious versions of issues going on today in real life.
There is a Mongolian Metal band called "The Hu" yall should check them out they do the throat singing byt they sre actually amazing i saw then at a rock festival a year ago in Texas
Yea it is so much better if you have context. The first clip with the people tied together is because they didn’t read the agreement on iPhone update. The one of the principle telling the kids about asking each other about being gay is because Japan made anime art of them in a relationship making fun of fan art.
I love South Park! I love how much fun they make of things in a very intelligent way lol. I love all the jokes they make about gay people as a gay person lmao.
The first segment was a parody off of the movie Human centipede but Kyle agreed to something from an apple update and apple kidnaps him to make a HumancentIPAD. These ladies have a good sense of humor. My mom doesn't like this show just think it's stupid but I love it. I'm 39. 😂
2:45 the inside out cows and mr hat telling kyle "no" are both from the series premiere, s1e1, "cartman gets an anal probe". There was an unaired pilot episode version of that with some differences, including that mr hat says more during that scene.
You should do a full EP. Try Season 1 Episode 1. Soirh park is one of those shows that didn't take long to get going, it was funny from EP1 so might as well
Its actually rly not that random, many of these Episodes have rly good and smart plots. Some jokes and plots are played out over whole seasons. You have to start watching the Episodes instead of the compliations.
I live in the U.S. and love South Park. Yes they are still on T.V. with new episodes. There are currently 26 Seasons and 327 Episodes. Not including the movies and specials.
An episode of "the big bang theory" had Mongolian throat singing.. I will leave that there.. when the tweeking kid is about to fire the rocket at spielberg, the other oys try to slip away and the men surround them with walkie talkies, but you hear the sounds of guns clicking, thats a joke on how Spielberg replaced the guns on the FBI agents in E.T. in the 90's with walkie talkies so it did not look like a violent film. he has now said he regrets doing that and tells all Directors never to change a movie after it has been released, its a sign of the times captured.
*The Human Centipede* (First Sequence) R 2009 ‧ Horror/Sci-fi ‧ 1h 32m Two pretty but ditsy American girls are on a road trip through Europe. In Germany, they end up alone at night and when their car breaks down, they take shelter in an isolated villa. They wake in the morning to find themselves in a makeshift hospital along with a Japanese man. Here they meet a psychotic German surgeon whose life-long fantasy is to connect humans together via their gastric systems.
South park is still running, the last season (26) was pretty good. They have made 325 episodes since it premiered in 1997, a movie, a few hours long specials and 2 very good video games. The creators matt and trey were feeling a little burnt out a few years ago, so they decided to try and get the show cancelled by being as offensive as possible, even putting the hashtag #cancelsouthpark at the end of every episode in a season. Instead of getting cancelled they signed an absolutely massive deal with paramount and another with comedy central.
The jokes seem very random because it is a "Best moments" compilation. South Park's jokes are very often tied to the plot of the episode it's in. It's not like Family guy, where the majority of the jokes are self contained, cut-away moments. The jokes are definitely much funnier, and makes a ton more sense if you watch full episodes. Highly recommend asking your audience for some recommendations and maybe check out full episodes.
It funny bc it’s makes fun of real life in real time. Everytime there’s a big political or racial or sexual event that happens, South Park is not far behind coming out with an episode about it.
South Park is still ongoing and will probably continue for a few more years at least Trey and Matt are getting kind of old but I'm sure they plan to keep making the show for as long as they are able and they never really run out of content since they make the episodes based off of current events.
