Not to be that guy, but the list left out so many great ones that I’d definitely put on here. The Shawn Kemp dunk and Gerald Wallace dunk are two of my favorites.
V. Carters' Olympic dunk when he literally jumped over a 7 footer should have made the list and been in the top 3, arguably the best dunk from the best dunker ever.
Baron Davis over Kirilenko has got to be a top 20 in-game dunk. Late in a playoff game, crowd goes nuts. Plus it looked kind of unique, he went straight up, hung in the air, got half turned around by the contact and slammed it almost behind his head one-handed. Great moment.
Guys, be prepared for a bunch of comments about dunks that should have been in this top 20. My offering is John Starks (New York Knicks) and his left-handed slam against the Chicago Bulls in the 1993 playoffs. Less than a minute left, Knicks up a couple of points at the time. He dunked over two guys considerably taller than him in a pressure-filled moment.
I just commented that.... How could it be the craziest and not include that? That was over Jordan AND the entire Bulls team! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pCTfxOrX4k8.html
Should do NFLs greatest hits. Or have the fam check out Michael Jordan's Ultimate mixtape Tbf Jason Terry is the guy who shut LeBron down in the NBA finals when he was with the mavericks.
Dwayne Wade played all but 2 years with the Heat. He spent 1 season with the Cavs and 1 with the Bulls towards the end of his career when his knee was giving out on him.
The NBA existed prior to 1999. Anyone hear of Dr. J??? Dominique Wilkins?? Shawn Kemp?? David Thompson?? Connie Hawkins?? Elgin Baylor?? Darryl Dawkins?? Steve Francis?? Eddie Jones?? Gerald Green? Kenny Walker? Kevin Garnett?? The dunk didn't just spring up last week.
Great reaction guys. This list is a pretty inaccurate "Top 20 dunks of the last 15 years" for the most part...with a few exceptions. Most people would consider Lebron a true Cavalier instead of Heat or Laker. Mostly because he was drafted by them, his hometown team...promised he would come back and give the city of Cleveland their first championship in history and he did exactly that...but I think most would agree that prime Lebron was when he was with the Heat (2010-2014).
There aren’t a ton of in game dunks from the 70s or 80s that would crack this list. There is definitely a solid handful of them but not an egregious amount.
I think Prime Lebron extended til about 2018ish. One could make the argument that although he was in his athletic prime with the Heat, his basketball IQ somehow got even better with his second stint with the Cavs, more than making up for what he barely lost in athleticism.
Definitely check out some Giannis Antetokounmpo highlights. His dunk against the Knicks was great, but nowhere near as iconic as his NBA Finals performance.
@CPGoat #3 oops, my bad, craziest dunks? I don't believe either to be the title of the video they watched. I feel as they've been robbed from thus experience!
Daz, just found this channel. Seeing your son with you is cool. Also, as almost everyone else has stated, this list is missing a lot. I think it’s because the creator is going off dunks he recalls…even an older creator is going to miss highlights from their era.
If your talking about power dunks Darryl Dawkins was the first to shattered the glass when he had dunk the ball. You guys should checked in videos of power dunks that broke and shattered the glass of basket 😁
I still say M.J. is the GOAT. Say what you will about today's stars, but Michael was not only an awesome player, but unbeknownst to a lot of people, he was a great shit talker on the court. He would shit talk opponents during active play. To tell you how old I am without telling you how old I am, I quit watching the NBA when Jordan retired in the late 90s. Oh, they mentioned the Heat had a 22-game win streak in that one clip. The '95/'96 Bulls only lost like 4 or 5 games that entire season. I don't recall their win streaks, but that doesn't matter when you nearly go undefeated in an 80+ game season.
Lebron played for Cleveland, Miami, back to Cleveland, and currently the Lakers. Not to mention he's from Akron Ohio so Cleveland is literally his hometown team.
Some background with Jason Terry, a few years earlier, Terry helped the Mavs beat Lebron and the Heat in the NBA Finals. He was the 2nd best player in that finals behind Dirk. The narrative was that Terry stepped up, especially playing defense against Lebron. It's funny how everyone was one Lebron's case after that finals and then Terry became the joke after that dunk. lol. As a Mavs fan, Terry was one of my favorite players.
Should have made the list a little longer because the Kemp dunk where he points and the guy afterwards and JR Smith “we just saw a man fly” should have definitely been included
I mean if you are a big guy you gonna get dunked on sooner or later but I appreciate them trying to go for a block even the chance of that happening is like 5% rather than moving out of the way. Plus if they get dunked on the dunk itself is way more impressive then if they move out of the way.
This is not a great list, but I will say, I was at college game when a guy on my team threw down an almost identical inbound alley oop (18) to win the game. It was pretty crazy in that stadium for awhile. 😀
Kansas might have a chance. I reckon Alabama might take it though. Ja is in some shh at the moment, your right Aiden. Covered the strip club with cash and flashed a gun, now his been suspended for eight games and told to get his life on track, this is after the team holding him out because he needed to 'get right' - his getting a lot of shh from people not recognising his still only a kid in the NBA still. Shawn Kemp should've been in the list... he was a class act but didn't have the best end to his career so often gets forgotten in the midst. Probably worth you fellas looking into how the Sonics got stolen and sent to Oklahoma, hopefully we see them return going into the 25/25 season.
March Madness! Fill a Bracket! Thursday Early Afternoon it kicks off (ill be drinking, bbq’n and Watching Basketball for 12hrs Thursday/Friday). I always get my smoker out and invite everyone over for the day/night, stay the night ….It’s tradition….i kick everyone out saturday and watch 2nd round on the couch in peace. Go Hoosiers! IU (indiana University) is 4 seed but beat Purdue University both times they played In regular season (Purdue is In Indiana also, but they have #1 seed). I have friends that like Kansas….But not happening
I guess for this video creator that NBA History started in 1995-96? Sorry, but you could show Dr. J's top 5 dunks and they're all better than these and he does them effortlessly.
I'm sorry but I don't agree with this list. They didn't even mention Manu Ginobili. He dunked on more than half of those guys. Wow! He was just inducted into the Hall of Fame and also won the Olympics for his country. He won 4 Championships and he never got the respect he deserves. AHs!
True NBA history is not found this vid. Just "recent" history. The 1983 Dr. J. dunk against the Lakers is an NBA iconic moment. What about the "Human Highlight Machine"--- Dominique Wilkins?
Daz you seem to be obsessed with guys playing with flair. You call it showboating, but these guys have been playing this way since middle school. To say you would take a guy out of the game for a creative dunk is ridiculous.
Jordan’s top 20 dunks of all time are better then most of dunks on this list. So I don’t know where this list came from but have someone that actually know what he’s talking about. Most of these dunks are from this era and there are better dunks before this soft age of basketball
this list is terrible. How can you not have the most powerful dunk in history when Shaq brought down the entire backboard assembly or when he broke the entire frame and it sagged to the floor. Or Tom Chambers titled "The Dunk", they even made a trophy of the dunk in his honor.
