My family originally immigrated to America from Mexico, arriving with little knowledge of English. Even now, 27 years later, they only speak the basics. Yet, despite this language barrier, both of my parents were able to start successful businesses-my father as an arborist in tree service, and my mother as a florist. Although my mother’s business was lost due to illness, my father’s continues to thrive, growing steadily each year. I often assist by translating when he needs to communicate directly with clients. This is why I hold such deep love for America. The United States offered us opportunities we never could have imagined. My parents, once poor and struggling with five children, worked tirelessly to overcome their circumstances. Today, they are thriving, even without fluency in English. This is why America is truly the land of opportunity-My beautiful U.S.A. 🇺🇸❤️🦅

That's why I tend to not like these videos that generalize what "America" is like. America is about as varied as your willingness to explore it. Watched a TV show about Rod Stewart and after four hours went home. Coffee was instant (Nescafe) not good and expensive and small. Don't know your age but l was a cold War soldier. Yeah man while there it’s a blur since it was like 2007-2008ish but higher ups said we couldn’t drink because we were headed to Kuwait then Iraq. I said screw this and told the boys if we all get a pint they won’t punish us all right, F**k punish us before Iraq, no way. I was one of the only CPLs in the unit then and I told my squad screw it. Let’s get a pint! Last beer for a few of us sadly but I’m glad we did go against the rules and got one. Have to have a Guinness in Ireland right?! Yet the SGT Major actually smirked at me and said good for morale so F it. We’re going to war, so we deserve a beer. Yet small Aussie and Brit camps had beer in Iraq don’t ended up not being the last but you had to. I went back twice but the last time I was injured when a 107mm Rocket fired by Jaysh Al Mahdi hit near us. Went to a hospital in Kuwait and then to Landsthul Germany. Loved Germany but didn’t get much time there to actually look around. Just in the hospital for a few months. Well nice to meet you brother, love talking to my fellow vets. Actually moving back near Ft. Bragg from Atlanta in a few months so that will be nice to see some friends. So how long were you in Germany bud? Wish I could have looked around more but I did some time in Korea and Japan that I did enjoy. If you have Instagram my handle is the same here as it is on there. The extra sugar in SOME breads, not all, is about a one half to one teaspoon per loaf. Sugar is a natural preservative that can keep your bread products from spoiling. They last about 3 times longer. Salt is the other natural preservative so you will see it in many prepared foods, smoked meats and canned foods. these two preservatives have been used for hundreds of years. Read up on it.

In the US, some stop lights have tracks underneath the concrete in each lane to trigger the lights to change based if a car is there or not. So if you think going slow as a turtle is more efficient, it’s not really. Sorry. You’re likely going to have to stop there anyways, you just took too much time to get to the spot to wait by an extra minute and if you make others behind you wait, don’t be surprised if you get various reactions.

Sweetness in bread can easily occur if you use dry active yeast as opposed to fresh yeast. The dry active type requires tepid/warm water and sugar to activate the yeast. Dry active yeast also is minute in comparison to how fresh yeast you need to use for the same purposes.

Traffic laws can be *very* different depending on the state. None of what she said is a law in California. It's also extremely unsafe to do what she said... and the biggest law in California is to drive safely, in accordance with traffic. If traffic is such that the safest thing to do is illegal, do the illegal and safe thing. You're actually more likely to be stopped for doing something legal but unsafe.

In America, we are robo blocked from talking directly with businesses because we have to go through a long automated system to answer the basics before reaching a real person. Even to book an appointment or order food, we are usually put on hold or go through a “if you wish to know store hours, press 1. To know the address press 2”. Also all fast food places have an app to order food. AC and heating is automatically provided as long as it is paid for. I heard a Brit complain about paying more in rent just for AC.

The large portion sizes in restaurants is a fairly recent thing, to justify menu price increases or to make the high prices not look so bad. Portion sizes in recipe books and in regular size frozen dinners, are normal size. In restaurants, it doesn't cost much more to add more salad or beans, or rice or paste, that can make it large and seem not so bad for the menu prices.

Leadership allowed us to have 2 drinks while we wait for our plane to be restocked and fueled. We made that poor airport bar SO busy. I had a Guinness (of course) and a Smithwick. Its hard for me to drink Guinness here in the US now...

Only driving tips are as follows: 1. on the highways/interstate the left lane is for criminal speed, do not get into that lane unless you're prepared to go well over the speed limit. People will get very pissed if you block the left lane by going slow. 2. Depending on the state, always remember that drivers can be armed and throwing the bird or aggressive driving, road rage can escalate quickly. Im from FL and its like nascar on the highways with no indicators lol

4:06 I say the same thing when people talk about how "sweet" American bread is. In the US, there are several sugar- and sweetener-free bread brands. I agree that Americans have a sweeter taste palate and often add sugar to their foods; however, I'm declaring "dessert American sandwich bread" an internet myth people repeat for content.

As someone who can't have sugar if you need to avoid sugar you avoid processed foods in America. The thing about the variety of cars is that there used to be a lot more. Prior to the 2008 economic crash, there were several more domestic brands than there are now. GM downsized by 3 brands after that. They dropped their Pontiac line (which famously had the Firebird), the Oldsmobile line (which was a cheaper version of Buick), and the Hummer line (which just produced civilian versions of the military HMMV "Hummer". The civilian versions were the H1 Hummer, the H2 Hummer (a huge more modern beast) and the H3 Hummer (a scaled down version of the H2). However the Hummer is back this year as an EV but looks like a scaled up version of the Ford Bronco. There's probably a wider variety on the road now because vehicles tend to last a lot longer than they used to so you're seeing older models still on the road. However, where i thought she was going with the cars issue is that American vehicles are bigger than their European counterparts because they...well, can be. Why? Because standard lane width here is a full Yard (.91m) than the standard European lanes. In the US, they 12 ft wide, in Europe, they are only 9 ft wide. This extra 3 ft allows most vehicles to be wide enough to sit 3 people across a bench seat in the vehicle. At least 2 regular-sized adults and one child, or 3 fairly petite adult women per se. If there's just 2 seats in a vehicle in one row, they're separated by a foot or so wide storage console or something similar. In Europesn cars, you're almost sitting in ne another's laps from what I've seen. I'd be thinking, how do you all do it? Where do you put your arm?

I loved it though (even if it was sometimes really hard to understand what they were saying).

i'm a storm spotter in Northeastern Oklahoma. i drive in the worst driving conditions imaginable in effort to tell others how bad it is before it gets to them. rain, heavy rain, raining sideways, hail, high winds, winds 100+ mph ( personal record of 115 mph. inflow jet on the back of a rain wrapped tornado ), heavy fog so thick that you can't see more than 8 feet, ice, freezing rain, snow, heavy snow, snow squall reducing visibility to 12 feet, fire, heavy smoke, sub-zero temperature. in short with the exception of volcanic ash related events if you can name it... i've probably driven in it. and yes Oklahoma gets hurricanes too. usually they aren't very strong with winds in the 60ish mph range but they dump a lot rain and cause flooding.

Been to Northern Ireland. It was in about '06? '07? Took the ferry from Scotland. Got trapped at the dock. Met some Australian girls who we all crammed into a cab and each paid one buck each to get to our hostel. My friend and I got smashed at a dominoes for thanksgiving (confusing everyone as to why we kept saying it to everyone the drunker we got). Slept for 5 hours and then took the train down to Cork. So, for about 13 hours, I was in Northern Ireland.

The sweet thing really depends on where you live. I'm in the southwest, so I get more spicy and salty than sweet options. Even citrus from limes and tomatoes is more common. When I went to Hawaii, though, it felt like everything was sweet. I ended up buying plain white rice just to give my mouth a break from the sugar.

Since I'm a wedding minister, and have my ministry on a bumper sticker, I do try to control my road rage. However, when I was taking a Citizen Police Academy, they had a driving simulator so you could see what it would be like driving a police car with lights and sirens, running lights (they're allowed to with lights/sirens), and trying not to get hit by stupid drivers. During my "drive," I kept screaming "DON'T HIT ME!!!" and the cops behind where laughing their a$$es off. Being in the south, most people are kind - sharing a wave if you let them in before you. But inside a major city (Atlanta), all bets are off. How many times have I screamed "GO-WAH!" (yes, two syllables) when someone is texting at a green light.

Lol 😂 I drive aggressively.. Occasionally, I do get road rage, but that only gets triggered when there's a idiot driver driving erratically, riding my ass or cutting me off on the highway when there's barely room between me & the car in front of me. I like to leave at least a cars length or so distance between me & the car in front of me so I have time to break if they break. Someone sliding in between us at 75 to 80 mpr isn't smart.

I've been to Belfast and Ballymena. Froze my ass off. But it was beautiful. I really loved the Giant's Causeway and would love to go back there again. It was also the best fish and chips I've ever had in my life. I get back over to the UK every year or two. My entire family was originally from County Antrim and the whole area just talks to me. It feels like coming home when I'm there. I sound like a stupid American saying that, but it really does feel like that in a weird way. Edit: Everything we eat in the US is sweet. And our food is much saltier. Sourdough bread is more sour than wheat or white bread. It has a tang like unsweetened yogurt.

My understanding regarding metric vs imperial systems is that when you get to either extremely low or extremely high number the imperial system works best. So like calculations for astronomy or quantum physics. Everything in between, the metric system is easier. So like, economics maths or calculations for most technical jobs like carpentry or auto mechanics. Both have practical value depending on your need, in my personal opinion we should learn both

I worked in Venezuela for many years. The Bog Paper is thin and cheap, you have to wrap it round your fingers 3 times so it doesn't go through. So, your thinking, wouldn't all that paper clog the system? No, it never goes down the loo, you put the used paper in the little bin next to the bowl. The plumbing really is that primetive.

I wouldn't call what I do as "road rage", more like road annoyance. When my son was 2 and in the car with me, I would yell (and try not to curse) at another driver, and he would say, "Is it a Buddy or a Lady. Apparently, my most common yell was " Come ON (insert Buddy or Lady here). You've GOT tobe kidding!" 🤠
