In addition to the full-length MLB games, they also post highlight videos of a bunch of games that are about 10 minutes and they skip all of the “boring” parts of the game and only include the most important moments of the game. So that’s another idea that you could do, but I definitely think a full-length MLB game stream would be awesome!
unfortunately, most vidz from the mlb channel are gonna be flagged for copyright. imo, what a better idea would be is to watch the vidyahs that jomboy media themselves have been releasing lately of all the the recent world series games. that might actually work out. there are other options too.
@@bevrosity MLB and MiLB stream live every game on the internet, although a season pass isn't dirt cheap, nor is it very expensive. I listened to Harry Caray broadcasting Cardinal games on the radio, clear channel KMOX from St, Louis while I lived as a kid in northern Arkansas not far from the Missouri state border. My Missouri bred father and grandfather listened to Harry Caray broadcasting St. Louis Browns games from Sportsman Park. It’s really hard to understand and like baseball if you didn’t grow up playing it, don’t worry about it. The fact that you’re trying to learn sooo many sports is great by itself. Baseball games have a LOT of downtime, and often times games can be genuinely boring but you live for the couple amazing plays per gamr Edit- you should watch some of the Korean baseball league bat flips, there a bat flip is in no way disrespectful and they have legendary bat tosses
I love it when Luka is struggling for the right word or phrase to say and he turns his head and kind of looks into the distance....so unique and funny.
* Why did he get sick? Nerves. Imagine that guy trying to talk to girls * Michael Morse got a concussion that ended his career. This stuff has consequences. Ruben Tejada and Dustin Pedroia had their careers ended by dirty slides into second base, which necessitated the new double play rule. Buster Posey almost had his career ended by a collision at home plate. He came back and won NL MVP the next year and led his team to win the World Series. * The last video was from Game 6 of the 2019 World Series, which was also a great game. Stephen Strasburg's (the Natioinals pitcher) performance in that game earned him World Series MVP * The bat flips are typical weird alpha male ego nonsense * Your guess-take on the culture of bat flips is exactly correct
I've played ball for nearly 25 years at varying levels. The ONLY time I find a bat flip annoying is if your team is down....a lot. 0 point in doing it. end of the day though it's a game, I really don't care what they do if they hit a HR or make a great play, enjoy it.
Tejada deserved to get hurt trying to ballerina that double play. Not end his career but any shortstop knows that was a very dangerous way to turn a double play and he payed for it. The Utley and Posey rules are just the pussification of society. I miss watching runners get stone walled
@@pratt17648 Bet you don't have the balls to play second base in MLB pre-Utley lmaooo these people's careers of playing the games they love are at stake and you're sitting on your couch calling it pussification
I would recommend watching different types of full baseball games to get an idea of what types of baseball games there can be (blowouts, close games, high scoring games, low scoring games, early season games, late season games, playoff games, etc.) 9:55 Morse's career did end, but it was because of the punch he took, not a suspension
Thats what makes baseball so great, there are so many different outcomes and the worst team could easily beat the best team in the league on any given day by a score of 20-1 and the go on to lose the next 2 games to the same opponent 2-0 and 10-1
Yeah, I’d recommend watching game 6 or 7 of the 2019 World Series on twitch. Well it doesn’t really matter what game you watch, any work. Baseball is just a difficult sport to understand, so watching a game will help a ton.
You cant teach someone about baseball on the back end of a series. Games play so much different because there is so much less to manage with at least 1 game left and at most 2 games left. Id say the 2018 nl wildcard is somewhat of a better game. It was a great game of baseball, but it was also a great chess match and everything in between. If you watch the back end of the world series you miss so much of the strategy behind starting who and who to preserve for the next series. its almost backwards from how the game is supposed to be played because you can milk every drop out of your star players.
@@wymattison He would need someone with him to watch that game and explain everything. The sox used their entire pitching staff except one reliever mookie betts and jackie bradley changed positions a metric shit ton every inning. Vazquez finds himself at first base. Nunez injured but has to stay in otherwise the sox have to throw Drew pomeranz out to third. There was just so much happening in that game 3 that if you dont know the sport youre just gonna come out overwhelmed. Let alone he wouldn't understand the questionable decisions by dave roberts to not start star leftys in games 1 and 2 (v Sale v Price) The god awful decision to take out walker buehler so early. There is just too much to consume before and after to fully contextualize the game.
The 2019 all star game could be a nice easy way to watch a game in its entirety. It isn’t overly long and you won’t feel like you are missing any context or subtext and the players have live mics and are having a blast.
I think watching a game live would be a great idea, I would reccomend watching the 2019 NL wild card game between the Washington nationals and the Milwaukee brewers, great game and the first playoff game of last year
@@virushasdetectedawindows8381 exactly. i found it whenever i first started watching soccer i was bored of it, until i saw a very high scoring game that got me very interested in the sport, it will probably be the same for him
In the 2nd clip, Buster Posey is the catcher. Traditionally, the catcher is the person who protects the pitcher and steps in between the batter and is the person responsible for breaking up or preventing a fight. He has all the gear on and is right at the batter. The fact that he didn't tells you that either the pitcher told him not to because he wanted to fight, or he didn't believe the pitcher was in the right and was going to let his teammate get his butt kicked. The also point out Madison Bumgarner in the dugout not charging the field. His nickname is Mad Bum, and he is known for being a very emotional player who is in the middle of a lot of fights. Him turning his back really shows he thinks his teammate is in the wrong.
and if you like fights, watch the Atlanta Braves & San Diego Padres fight from 1984. fans were fighting and got arrested. Jomboy did a breakdown of that fight.
Jomboy is actually the fucking goat. Best baseball channel by A. LOT. and also probably one of the best sports related yt channel ever. Keep them coming brother, great reaction👌🏼
Glad to see this Luka, and glad you're having fun with it. Make sure you play Jomboy's vids to the end. He doesn't really have outros, so you may miss a joke or two if you end them too quickly.
a stream of you watching a baseball game would be really cool! it would be a good way to just hang out with your viewers. baseball games are chill as hell imo
Great video. I think it worked very well. Don't worry about randomness when it comes to watching sports videos. It's all very entertaining and I don't think there's any order that they should be watched. Keep up the good work!
A bunch of old heads hate the batflip a bunch of pitchers hate the bat flip. But with the new people and new generation bat flipping is what brings light to the game and its very entertaining
Bat flips are just like goal celebrations but for baseball. Traditionalists take offense and certain pitchers. Koreas league is airing on espn, they're well reknowned for their sick bat flips.
Excellent work my friend ! I really enjoy your videos. Especially the baseball themed ones. Watching your's and truly anybody's excitement and enthusiasm when they find and enjoy the sport is really entertaining to me When I watched the above video you seemed to be a little frustrated about learning the rule's. Don't beat yourself up over it. There are about 70 different rules that are in the official rule book, not to mention the crazy unwritten rules of baseball "etiquette". and I would bet VERY FEW people could pass a test with all of them being the topic. Myself included. As a matter of fact, I have been a baseball fan since about 1977 (GO DODGERS) and I learned a new rule last week. This is the gist of it: "There is a way to strike out when you are batting without having any pitches thrown (crazy, I know)!!! So, keep up the good work and it will come to you. BTW, Jomboy videos are awesome. I found a nugget of his and left a link to below. I can only describe it as, stupefying. The country of Finland's national past time is baseball??? Watch the video an you'll see what I mean. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zDrLcPxSBRk.html
Dude you absolutely gotta watch a game on stream so me and the bois can be there to answer any questions you've got. One I definitely recommend: Rangers vs. A's - October 3, 2012
If you watch a baseball game, I would suggest Game 5 of the 2017 World Series between the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers. That game was absolutely incredible. Series was tied 2-2. Whoever won would be 1 game away from a World Series title and the loser would be 1 game away from elimination. The game was absolutely epic.
My friend was the singer in a Metal band for 30 years. Like clockwork a couple minutes after going on stage he would throw up. After that he was good to go.
if you have time You tube has the full game from May 1979 Philadelphia Phillies-Chicago Cubs in Wrigley Field. Final score 23-22. 45 runs, 50 hits, 11 home runs,127 batters,11 pitchers in this wind decided game. Dave Kingman hit 3 Home Runs the third one a monster blast. enjoy this anomaly of a game.
Traditionally, the price of a bat flip was one of your teammates getting hit by a fastball. It is one of the unwritten rules of baseball, do not show up the other team. It is the same reason it is not okay to steal a base when you are up big in the late innings.
Another great vid man. You cant go wrong with Jomboy. If you are struggling to find full baseball games to watch, you can find most Little League World Series (LLWS) games up on RU-vid. As its 12 and 13 year olds the quality is obviously nowhere near that of the MLB but the kids are really talented and the quality of the play is surprisingly solid. I hope you stick with baseball, its a fantastic sport and sadly overlooked in Europe.
i fuckin love jomboys breakdowns, even tho hes a dirty yankees fan. his delivery is gold. great timbre and cadence. he could prob be a good stand up comedian.
You need to watch the 2004 American league championship series game 6 between the red Sox and the Yankees. That's the game where pitcher Curt Schilling bleed the entire game on his ankle and then Alex Rodriguez failed miserably trying to knock a ball out of the first baseman hand
Nah man, you got it exactly. Baseball is a very traditional sport, so the blat flipping is looked down on by a certain segment of the fanbase/community and the playerbase. But the newer generation love the showmanship and the excitement it brings to the sport.
Pretty right on for bat flips. A lot of players aren’t necessarily doing it to disrespect the pitcher but to celebrate what they did cause it’s hard to hit a bomb. A lot of pitchers get mad and intentionally hit the batter afterwards. In my opinion this is stupid because the the hitter got you, next time just pitch better don’t take ur anger for failing out on the batter. Younger players have started to bat flip more often and I like it makes it more exciting when the players show emotion and show their excitement when they do something cool!
LIVESTREAMS Yes please! #suggestion: 1. The greatest game in the history of baseball is 2001 World Series Game 4 (Mr. November game for baseball fans). Most importantly, *2001WSG4 is not on MLB's official channel, so you're not going to get copyrighted if you react to it.* 2. others have suggested 2019 NL Wild Card Game, which was a great game 3. 2017 World Series Game 5 is objectively the most exciting game in the history of baseball, but it might be a little much, and it's a pretty long game 4. The last video was from 2019 World Series Game 6, which was a good game as well. I think you'd enjoy (3) the most
RAF Lakenheath isn't far from London, there are kids and young adults playing baseball there. Ask for a game time and watch a little league game there from a bleacher seat during the summer. Those little leaguers didn't desire to play baseball until they watched a baseball game. Every question you might have about baseball will be answered from one of many knowledgeable fans enjoying the game as well... Watching kids play the games is how I learned about baseball and soccer, and it didn't cost me a large fortune either...
I always tell people that want to learn about a sport is to play the video game. That's how I learned about rugby. You'll get about 90% of the rules and intricacies fairly naturally. The other 10% are rules and situations that that only long time referees, players, coaches, and ultra serious fans will know or understand without literally sitting down and reading every letter of the rulebook. If you're looking for games that are a pretty complete representation of what baseball is, I've got a couple. Game 7 of the 2016 World Series, Chicago Cub vs Cleveland Indians is the greatest game I've ever watched. I used to be a baseball fanatic. I watched every single game I could get my hands on like I was being paid millions of dollars to be a manager or GM. So even if I wasn't a Cubs fan who had his heart so shattered in 2003 that I didn't watch a single pitch in 13 years, I'd did still say it confidently. It was easy to watch as a casual fan, and phenomenal game to watch as a "scholar" for lack of a better term coming to mind. Game 3 of the 2018 Series was right behind it. Game 4 (really, games 4, 5, or 6 were tremendous) of the the 2004 ALCS. Game 7 of the 2001 series also leaps to mind.
Your idea of the meaning of a batflip is exactly right. By the way if you want to keep reacting to single baseball players you should do Javi Baez or Nolan Arenado, since you already did an outfielder (Mike trout); you should react to an infielder now
I think doing a marathon of Jomboy's videos is good. They tend to be short so it isn't an issue. Definitely find a full baseball game on youtube to watch too, Best way to learn the game after all and I would love to see your reactions to it. If copyright is an issue, you could edit the reaction and just keep the highlights. In addition, if you....by any chance still have a wii, you could try getting you hands on a little baseball simulator called MLB Power Pros 2008. It's one of the easiest pick-up-and-play baseball video games I've ever played and it's really fun.....Just would want to make sure that the game isn't region locked though
i'd love to see you watch game 7 of the 2019 Nationals vs Astros world series! not only did the nats win their first-ever franchise world history, but they beat the astros, and like a month later the news came out that the astros had cheated in 2016, making the victory a million times better. also max scherzer was pitching for the nats, and he has two different color eyes and is just a crazy scary intense psycho on the mound.
You should definitely react to a game live. Maybe even do it on youtube. I didn't know anyone else wanted you to do that, I've been thinking that from the beginning. You really need to watch a baseball game to understand how the game flows and works, just seeing highlights can almost even give you a false perception. Sometimes you ask things in you reaction videos that would be so easy to understand if you just watched a game.
I used to puke every morning in high school. It’s sort of an anxiety thing. Its just a queasiness that comes on suddenly. Almost always happens on an empty stomach and I noticed he only threw up liquids.
It wouldn't be good because they're in Korean so it would be hard for him to understand what's going on, there are literally thousands of MLB games on youtube
Puking because of nerves. A lot of people puke in stressful situations like I puked before every game that was stressful. Bill Russell is the most famous player to puke before big games
MLB.tv is a site that you pay to watch all games but it’s free right now so I’d suggest watching the postseason games for the most excitement. A regular season game that was absolutely insane this year was Yankees-twins (July 23,2019). They also have the London series if you are interested (Yankees-red Sox June 29-30)
The idea that batflips are new is a myth. Every generation thinks that in their day, they were so much more respectful to the institution of Baseball. The fact is, they've always happened, but they have always been disrespectful in a way. The idea of not flaunting a homerun makes sense though. It's a long run around the bases, and the pitcher is standing there in the middle of the diamond watching it ll go down, being reminded that one misplaced finger for one split second, might have cost them the game. If you're the batter, be happy, but save it. High Five the 1st base coach, High Five the 3rd base coach, High Five the next batter, and then celebrate all you want in the dugout. That's how I feel, but I also wouldn't be the one throwing at someone's head if I felt slighted.
It's probably been said already, but streaming while you watch a game is a great idea. The rules can be hard to understand without context. And some are so rarely used, they're almost not worth trying to explain unless they come up. If you stream you can get your questions answered in real time.
Baseball has had "unwritten rules" since it was created. A batter showing up a pitcher after a home run has always been a big no no. The bat flip is a relatively new way of serving that purpose. It's a tad controversial b/c some don't think it's disrespectful, some do.
You and Kiwi Kicker are kinda feuding because you and him are both reaction channels who uses similar style and almost the same about of subs. But I'm on your side
Honestly, I can't blame you for not watching a game of baseball. Its a tough sport to watch if you don't understand it super well. I think you can figure it out along the way through these Jomboy videos. They are great. But if you did do a live stream of you watching a game that would be cool. Also, (sorry to keep wittering on) but I preffered the old set up with the face cam smaller than the video.
You thought that hit in the Harper-Strickland fight was bad, you should see Todd Bertuzzi's hit on (I can't remember the guy's name). That was easily the cheapest shot I've ever seen.
Just watched a soccer fan "reaction" vid and had to come here to appreciate our boy Luka for genuine reactions and not fake ass jumping all around the room bullshit.
Bat flips aren't necessarily disrespectful. Thay can be, but for the most part, it's just a form of celebration that the pitchers don't take too kindly to.
hi, for learning more basketball strategy, i'd recommend the channel bballbreakdown. The guy there goes through film of big games and breaks down the strategy and fundamentals of individual players and coaches. really gives you an idea of how teams approach games.
We used to play baseball in large public parks by our house when I was a kid. People would bring their dogs to the same park. So, inevitably everyone would have a stepping in dog $h!t moment. Equally inevitable, a couple of them would have a diving catch dog $h!t moment.... Very gross, but hilarious
Batflipping isn't necessarily disrespect it's a way to show excitement and emotion, but in American baseball the traditions around the game most pitchers see it as disrespectful while if you look at the KBO it's a whole different story.
Bat flips are kind of new. Like the past 20 years. Before that you could show a guy up by how long it took you to get into you HR trot or how fast your trot was. Baseball has a set of unwritten rules that are well known to those who play the game, but they are stupid.
Some of them make sense. If you slide into a guy at second with your metal spikes exposed (think going into a tackle with spikes exposed in soccer)the next time you come up you will get a fastball to the ass. It is a way of patrolling players, but there are other ones like the bat flip that are a bit much.
