Fun fact, Waffle Houses are used as a metric for how bad a tornado/storm/hurricane is in the South, called the Waffle House Index. They will be open even if they have to run a generator, or even if there is no power at all they will be open with at least a limited menu. If your local Waffle House is closed, you know you're fucked.

This guy is actually a great chef. He has done so much to help people who have really needed it. Really a great guy and amazing chef. I worked the graveyard shift for many years putting myself through school. Lord do I have stories to tell.

This guy came in 4th on MasterChef USA awhile back. Obviously, his specialty was southern cooking.

Every southerner knows that the best cure for a hangover is grease & carbs from Waffle House. When I was single, we'd plan our bar hopping so we'd end up at the bar nearest to the Waffle House at closing time. I'm old now but not too proud to admit that Waffle House is still my favorite restaurant.

As a bachelor with no family, going to Waffle House for my Christmas dinner has become my annual tradition for almost a decade now. The problem can be finding one where you can get a seat as Christmas Day is one of their busiest days of the year. I have had to drive to four or five locations before I found one that wasn't packed.

The middle guy is a chef at a restaurant the 2 Brits visited . He's a Southern chef that cooked for them . From what I remember he cooked for them and they hit it off . The question they asked is where would he go after a few drinks ? He said that the Waffle House would be his choice . That you could pretty much get whatever you wanted and with whatever you wanted mixed in with it . Cooked anyway you want at any time . The Waffle House never closes ! 24 hours a day , everyday ! The Waffle House , Denny's and the Huddle House are well known in the South !

Noah is drunk eating. It was his birthday so they did BBQ earlier in the day and came back for this. Know this about Waffle House. There are good ones and terrible ones. They are not kidding about being open 24/7 - 365. If the Waffle House is closed the weather is literally catastrophic or they've been shut down because they are violating soo many health and food guidelines, lol.

This Waffle House is in Atlanta. They spent the day at a BBQ restaurant earlier. You should check out that episode. Sausage or bacon dipped in syrup is heaven. The best way to eat pancakes, waffles, and French toast.

Many 24 hour restaurants like Waffle House are not 24 hours open anymore after covid shut down but Waffle House may still be open late for late night meal, especially if you are a little drunk/buzzed. Best way to explain apple butter. If you take applesauce and keep on cooking it and cooking it till it gets dark you add some sugar and spices and let it cook for a little bit longer than you have apple butter.

Whenever we evacuate from a hurricane we go to Waffle House to eat. Always open even during disasters.

Scattered, smothered, covered and chucked. That's some good eating! Oh, for those who don't speak Waffle House. That's hashbrowns( fried potatoes) that's Scattered around smothered means add onions covered throw cheese on top and chucked add ham chunks also. So so good. Chopped texas cheese streak sandwich. So yummy. The best thing is the food is fresh cooked in front of you and doesn't break the bank. Never ear WH grits!! They don't put salt in the cooking water. That should be a crime.

We finally got a Waffle House in our town this month and I am so happy!! The two best things on the menu are the hash browns - smothered & covered and the Patty Melts. Last year my husband got out of the hospital on Christmas Eve and we didn't have food in the house because he'd been in there 12 days so we punted and went to Waffle House. Worth it.

Adam, earlier in this day, those same 3 guys, Noah, Josh and Ollie went to an awesome BBQ restaurant. Then they got drunk and poured themselves into this Waffle House. The BBQ joint is just as funny as this one.

Waffle House is an institution, especially in the South. It was our go to place when the bars closed a 3 a.m. Runner up was Krystal for some gut bomb sliders. 😂

i work at WH, hate doing third shift though. trying to price what they got using the current menu prices at my location... Hash brown bowl (they put it on a platter instead of in the bowl), 11, adding CS and B, 4.25, 2.25, sausage gravy, .50c. All star, 12.25 each, triple hashbrown additional $2, adding cheese and onion to that triple hashbrown is $1 total, cheese in both orders of eggs, $2 total, pecan topping and chocolate chip topping on waffle, $1 total, TxPPM plate $6.50 + 2.25 for second patty, $4 for the HB, TxCSM plate, $10.50, drinks $3 each (assuming the guy didn't get another chocolate milk, ya gotta charge per milk) ~80.75 depending on your location and what year it is.

Among American foods, the most potent mix of terrible looking and amazing tasting is biscuits and gravy. Waffle House could very easily rebrand to Hash Browns House. A double order of well-done browns smothered (with grilled onion) and capped (with grilled mushroom) is Heaven. If Waffle House had real butter, cheddar or Swiss cheese, and better coffee, I would just move into one, and live happily until my fatal coronary three days later. Waffle House is based in and most concentrated in the South (meaning the mostly-formerly-Confederate Southeast), but has locations in some other parts of the country, as well. A running gag when visiting the South and asked where you’re staying is to answer, “Near the Waffle House.” EVERYTHING in the South is near a Waffle House. I worked in disaster services, where it’s a truism that, if the Waffle Houses close for a hurricane; etc, it must be really bad. Otherwise, WHs don’t close for anything. For some reason, Wafffle House’s multi-story-tall sign poles are often the only structures still standing after the most catastrophic weather.

The guy in the middle is a BBQ guy that cooked for them at his restaurant in another vid. My favorite waffle house food is the Texas Cheese Steak, it comes as a "melt" (a grilled cheese with the cheese steak on Texas toast) or as an omlet. You can order your hashbrowns with just about anything you want on them. They've got quirky code names for the options that are kind of like the old short order cook lingo used in diners from way, WAY back in the day

Any Sutherner can tell you their favorite Waffle House breakfast by heart. Extra grilled chicken (since they took the chopped steak off the menu 10-20 years ago) Three eggs fried extra well Double hash browns with cheese and chili Raisin Toast with Apple Butter And a Co-Coler My wife's order is much the same, but with pork chops instead of chicken and sliced tomatoes rather than hash browns. And she likes her coffee like motor oil.

One thing about us Americans in the south, if you’re hungry we are going to feed you. Usually with home cooked put meat on your bones kind of food. Nobody leaves the south hungry. As for Waffle House, when you’re coming back home in the middle of the night from a road trip to another state or from somewhere in your state with your stomach rumbling at 2:00am, seeing that Waffle House sign means some good cooking.

You'll have Waffle House in Orlando, there's about 12 of them that I've seen when I've been there. Just know that the food is really not that good. the reason why they are busy later at night is because they are one of the only places that are open 24 hours. It's best to go there when you've been drinking or "something" is because you'll probably be hungry and if you're in a mentally altered state, you won't care as much that the food isn't that good. But it definitely is an experience lol

I always get hashbrowns . Smothered covered and peppered. 2 biscuits and cheesy grits. I make little sandwiches w the potatoes and biscuits.. w a bit of ketsup and hot sauce.. and a huge sweet tea

They messed up not doing "scattered and smothered" hash browns (onion is added). Also comes covered (cheese), chunked (tomatoes) and a few others. Their plain hash browns are fine...but with the sauteed onion. *chef kiss

Thirty years ago, when I was in high school Waffle House had an all you can eat option for like $14. Never-ending burgers, patty melts, tasty hashbrowns, whatever you wanted.

I love waffles....one day I was on the submarine USS Florida SSBN-728, having been underwater about 60 days, at a depth of around 500 feet (152 m), and I decided to start eating waffles from the middle to the outside! It was wonderful. 🙂 But cleaning the waffle maker is a LOT of work, and it has to be done before and after each breakfast. My main job was sonar, but all junior enlisted have to spend time working in the mess deck (eating area) to humble us lol. I would scrub and wipe it until it looked spotless and the Culinary Specialist Senior Chief would still say, "nope, clean it again, nub". (nub = "non-useful body", someone who is not Qualified in Submarines yet.) lmao 😂🤣😂

Waffle House was usually the last stop from partying in Columbus, GA. Hanging out with strippers, putting down the coffee, eating hash browns topped with Bert’s chili, the occasional fights breaking out. Good times

Waffle House was my very 1st job many years ago. Back then the salesperson would call out the orders to the grill operator and walk away. The grill operator was expected to remember all the orders without looking at tickets. You could get a "call back" if you couldn't remember. In the mid 90s they introduced The Magic Marker system where you would do stuff like put hashbrowns or a pickle on a plate to help remember the order. I just couldn't do it that way after many years of just remembering.

So theres, hockey, bass pro shops, waffle house, country folk, costco, walmart. And such all within about 25 min of where i live. Look at south florida near ft lauderdale/davie fl. I know youre doin orlando, were bout 3 hrs South. On the east coast.
