12:18 a relegation system would actually be diametrically opposed to what the NFL tries to do. The entire draft selection process is to feed better players to worse teams in an attempt to equalize things in the off season. The NFL wants an full league of peers (or near peers) when that first kickoff of the season happens.
So you had the wrong idea about how the draft works. Don't sweat it. Hopefully you didn't receive too many rude comments. Thanks for all your hard work in making these videos! Trying to think what makes a fake more effective in American football vs European football🤔 I suppose it comes down to what the defender in each sport is trying to do. In (Am) Football defenders try to close with the ball carrier as quickly as possible to limit the amount if yards the offense gets on any given play. This benefits the ball carrier since the defender's momentum is already going in a specific direction. In soccer, a defender has the option to backpedal in order to contain the approaching ball handler. He is not rushing at him as fast as he can in order to give up fewer yards. "And he's white."🤣
Yeah I got some messages on IG with where I went wrong on the draft ! Hey man thanks for the kinds words ! Yeah the feints in the NFL seem to send people alot further than soccer. Makes it look sick !
It would be tough to do the whole relegation thing in the NFL bc a national audience will not want to watch a game played by two mediocre teams who have no chance of winning a Superbowl. Fewer viewers means fewer advertising dollars and less revenue for the league. Besides, we have playoffs after the end of the regular season. In some sense you could say that the teams that weren't good enough to make the playoffs are relegated, bc their season is over and they have no chance at winning the Superbowl. Whereas the best teams continue on into the playoffs.
Yeah that makes sense, I suppose the general consensus seems to be you want the best possible teams playing as often as possible with everybody having an equal chance to be one !
