You really need to get invovlved with Simz - she is very British! And a lyrical GENIUS. The two of them together is so exciting. Check out Gorilla and also Introvert, Venom and Woman.
The first time I heard the album I was shocked and I remember I thought "Army won't like it". BUT I made a big mistake, I didn't use headphones to listen to it.... After doing the right thing, the feeling was exactly the opposite! What a sensorial journey! So far, I've always avoided this kind of musical chaos that come from a jazz jam. But in this album, the chaos is the context! RM confirms he's a genius. The way he "paint" his struggles, confusion, mental chaos and how it leads him to find himself. After that, he tell us he's ready for what's coming, no matter what it is. To be lost is the first step to find and finally love and be ourselves. Peace and freedom, two things that come after this process. I'd dare to say that, with this work, he paralleled Van Gogh, because like him, RM put in song, with sounds, the same frenetic emotions Van Gogh put on canvases, with colors.
It’s very symbolic of namjoon’s story for this album. He has mentioned in jimin video that he was feeling suffocated with all this hard work. San yawn from Balming tiger encouraged him to step back a bit from BTS and create alternative music or his sound.. So it’s just depicting his crazy journey, that suddenly halts because of military enlistment. But in between that uncertainty, this album gave him an oppurtunity to run away or steer away for a while.. but Namjoon knows he will be back to BTS.. that’s the symbolism of the boy with cycle returning back to the fast life/bts
Definitely liked this one more than the last. The mixing of styles and sounds is very interesting. Love the jazz sound, the rap, the chorus ... incredible. 💜

The jazz-esque instrumental made this my favorite song on the album from the get-go! And the clashing, discordant vibe, especially in the chorus, was so intriguing to experience for the first time. It took until the cymbal and drums came in at the beginning for me to realize what the rhythm of the song was and where the downbeats were because it took me so off guard, and then just kept me on my toes throughout the rest of the song! And I was waiting to see your reaction upon realizing that Little Simz is British and it didn't disappoint at all, haha 💜

The song is in korean , english and japanese! The key character is young Namjoon with his signature bicycle. He raps about being pressured by adults in suits and uniforms. His friends protect him ...take him thru the tunnel....pass the crowds....survive the train crash and finally over the fence. He starts at dusk with a looming night coming in.....and ends with Namjoon coming out and walking into a sunrise.....more confident ...but he decides to go back. I think RM paid homage to his bangtan mates...his homies ...and other friends .....and how he comes out better...stronger...enough to decide to go back. Maybe he is referencing him and his mates signing another 7 year contract literally to return to the chaos of bts.
I wish RM could talk about his album. He deserves to go against biggest rapper for an award. The chaos in this video made me anxious, hope Namjoon found peace in his mind doing this album
