LEGEND!!!! I feel like the release of this album has really great timing too with all the bullshit going on at the moment. He doesn't even have to be here to shut down the haters.
Layers, right? The percussion and the blowhorns. A bit of a juxtaposition...somewhat. Joonie be letting it all out lyrically, too. I've always believed Namjoon is a master poet. Totally agree with you, too - Namjoon a legend and your reasons thereof. Equity as a legend. Yes. To credit, i feel RM is starting to believe in himself now. And I dearly hope he is happy! Or at least content....with a grin on his face. That's what we want for Joonie. It's gritty, yeah. He wanted to go there; he needed to go there. It's a controlled - free-flow. Sounds / 'noises' coming from everywhere yet specifically there - in the music. I kind of physically looked around, too - like, where did that come from? Namjoon be workin' our brains as well, I gather. Themes, you asked? Angst. Reflection. Acceptance. But went through 'hell' getting here. And I am glad personally, that he allows us in on this part of his journey. Very intimately.
He experimented with everything! To me, the only thing that is common to the whole album is that awesome bass... that makes it a sensorial trip (It made me remember the 70s, particularly the MV of Lost!). Oh! And his rage and sincerity, of course. Only RM can mix an Afro rhythm and a Japanese chanting. That sounds so perfect and natural that I'd like to know if it is a Japanese rhythm, too. In this album, it seems to me that RM learned a bit from Yoongi, to not control his mouth, to be raw, and to let it flow. To forget about pleasing this or that. I love him spitting his truths! I'd dare to say that this album is a Haegeum! 😅
I really like domodachi. the jazz vibe is just freakin awesome and it reminds me of bebop with a splash of miles davis. the chorus gives me an african vibe.
