Brilliant flying once again Darren! Your filming and commentary always amazes me, considering you are in a comp. My 86 year old mum sat and watched your flight from the beginning to the end and loved it! Thanks for keeping the sport strong!
Dear Darren, i have recently taken a intrest in hangliding, thanks to you're videos, you have encouraged me so much, that i have now made the decision to book my self in for a pilot hangliding license 😂,my date of starting is the 2nd of november and i cant wait, im so excited ,it will be at northern new south wales Australia, my wife thinks im going through mid-life crisis 😅I'm 53 ,and i have the heart of a 20 year old , all my friends think im nuts, but as a child i always dreamed of flying , i would stair at the seagulls for hours on end,and i hope that one day, i will have the opertunity to do cross country with you ,your a great guy and keep doing what your doing all the best Darren 👍 ps. keep flying high!!!!😊
Thank you Tom - comments like yours are one of the reasons I do these videos. You're not nuts - you're doing the BEST thing. As for age... well I'm 52. When I learned to Hangglide there was a guy on my course who was learning at age 60. I didn't see him for around 10 years after that... then bumped into him in Florida, where he was rigging his glider ready for a flight. Don't let ANYONE tell you that you're too old!
@tomstil007. I learned to fly a hang glider when I was 45 years old. I flew regularly for 23 years. I am 79 years old now , don’t fly anymore, but ride a motorbike instead. I just had to find something to replace the enjoyment of hang gliding. I live in Brisbane, where there are numerous HG sites available. I have flown most sites on the east coast of Australia. Mount Buffalo in Victoria was one of the most memorable, 3,000 feet vertical drop on take off. Good luck with your flying, I am sure you will love it. Regards Murray
@@murraycharters6102 see you don't need to be young to fly Hanggliders! You ride a motorbike.... because you wanted something safer?!! Hehe. Thanks Murray.
@MooSurfer Thank you Darren , you have really brought comfort to me and encouragement, I just need to spread my wings and fly now , I know it's a bit of a process, but I am really keen , will keep you guys informed in my progress, all the best 😉👍
@@murraycharters6102 Hi Murray, great to hear you still have a hobby , I am a motorbike rider as well , love motorbike riding up in the hills , but thank you for your encouragement, that age is just a number and you can do all things as long as you have the fitness and health , but Queensland seems like it has more sights for hangliding then any other state in Australia, and Victoria has the most memorable one , mount buffalo , I have been there to watch others fly , and it is supreme majestic , what a place and I love the see through glass lookout that you can walk on , a bit scary at first , but after it's an amazing feeling , Murray thank you for sharing and may I say a long life to you sir , and God bless you 😊👍
Cheers for taking us aboard and showing us how to race it's awesome!. Well saved when you got very low I was shouting COME ON for a thermal for you lol. Great!
Another on the edge of my seat..you went from screaming for a thermal to saying please this time. I hope the camera mount is ok. Cracking content Darren.
No - it's the way I fly it! It actually turns really well, it's when I GET turned that I struggle. But I'm convinced it's my technique. Went flying the other day and handled it much better. Bearing in mind... this is my 3rd ever flight on one of these gliders!
@@MooSurfer No! I refer to my own RU-vid 'Icon' showing a still, taken from my own MiniDV tape, which captured the moment the falcon flew from her nest and eggs to 'harass' the jet turning to land at Leeds/Bradford airport, Yorkshire, uk!!
I was begging too!!! My new machine handles a little differently and I'm not used to it yet. But it climbs SO well! Definitely the best glider I have had for climbing. I'm going to do soooo well on this glider. It's awesome.
Good afternoon Darren, which glider do you think is more efficient in terms of performance, T2C or LightSpeed? Thank you very much, good flights, greetings from Argentina
I have only flown the Moyes glider a few times so can't really compare yet. They seem comparable on glide. But I definitely climb faster on the Moyes - that is an immediate and striking difference.
