Taking into account the location of Hatton's you forgot those that have done time on Merseyrail and their 3rd rail system. If I remember correctly they were used on engineer's trains working as part of the maintenance fleet

That's correct Adrian, four of the Class were used 'up here' on engineers trains and also paired with ex-Class 501 EMUs converted into rail cleaning units....a far cry from their days on the Southern Region but no less exciting.

One of the 2 Ultra 73s passed by as I was fishing on the 3rd Jan. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kf8ZlECt0Ik.html And some GBRFs ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gcvYsiCsptI.html The 73 possibly has the best name of any loco ever. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ly8ZRna3ll0.html

Was the 73 used on the 'Golden Arrow' and 'Night Ferry' services. If so, what livery were they in?

hi Dave, great video, before the class 73 in east sussex we had electric locos nos 2001, 2002 and 20003 the last one being a slightly different shape they were known as booster locos. they had a pantagraph and collector shoes, made a great humming noise, used on the Newhaven boat train, due to clown activity all three were cut up ! R.I.P. much missed.

Hi Peter, it is indeed a shame a 'Booster' didn't survive. I'd have definitely liked to have seen one especially with the flywheels inside - Dave

Great loco, like the 37 have stood the test of time👍 Not anything that is seen on the WCML at the bottom of my road, but I haven’t ruled out seeing a NR test train! Keep the videos coming, stay safe 😷 Cheers John B

Cheers John, we'll keep bringing you the shows safely, that's for sure. GBRF's Class 73s do make appearances on test trains so its certainly worth keeping an eye out for anything unusual!

Really enjoy catching up on these streams even though I've not had a layout since the airfix days. Are they going to have to take a pause though with the stuff going on at the end of this week?
