Nice to remember when we had a proper railway when trains were mostly loco hauled , and not a 66 in sight.

Nice bit of cab ride in the AM10 unit. A real shame BR abandoned the practice of fitting windows in the driving cab partition. I can only imagine how much more enjoyable these must have made a journey.

It sure was. As a boy, kneeling up on the bench seat behind the cab vestibule to look out front was great fun - I always used to hope that the second class end of the unit was leading(!) Overtaking loads of Bakerloos and Watford DCs, and being overtaken by the AL6-hauled expresses 😃
