Imagine what those number would be if the illegal music downloading didn’t effected physical sales in early 00s. Apparently it effected music sales in general by $8billion
Blackout was such an underappreciated pop masterpiece, perhaps it got overshadowed by the events that happened at the time it got out but it was and still is literal PERFECTION!!!!
Yeeees!!! It is better then circus, femme fatale and Britney jean! I love glory, though! But my favorite will always be in the zone, with 8 songs written by her :)
I love blackout don’t get me wrong but I personally don’t think it’s under appreciated! If anything I definitely think it’s her most favourited album since it is obviously pop perfection so very understandable for it to be a fan favourite! Everytime I see someone comment their favourite Britney album it’s always blackout, well deserved though! Props to Britney for putting together one of the best pop albums ever!!!
Britney's official site updated Baby one more time to be over 32 million copies on pure sales on its 30th anniversary So 32 million is pure sales With streaming included its 35million
Actually BOMT sold 10M copies in US and RIAA certified DIAMOND in December 9, 1999, It became the 14th album since 1991 to sell over ten million copies in the US and Spears became the best-selling female artist of 1999.
When the IN THE ZONE album came out, I was willing to set aside my pocket money to buy the CD and cassette. And all the songs on the album are very pleasant to listen to now.
If possible, in the future, at the end of the videos you could mention the physical sales and the streaming sales. Because those numbers are huge, don't remember it at the time.
The stats are not accurate. BOMT was already certified diamond (selling 10M copies in US alone) in 1999 but per your video WW sales for BOMT by 2000 is recorded as 8.1M which is not right. "The album was certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on December 9, 1999. It became the 14th album since 1991 to sell over ten million copies in the US, and Spears became the best-selling female artist of 1999." - Billboard.
Interesting facts. ITZ (Britney’s most personal work at the time) gaining more sales than Britney (her transitional album to a more mature sound). Blackout sales without any kind of promotion beating Femme Fatale that had a worldwide tour and 4 proper singles and Circus selling like pre-digital sales in a decadent market at the time reflected the power that she had.
I'd love to see this (including Streaming) as a battle with other artists such as Beyonce and even Taylor Swift. Madonna, Lady Gaga. etc etc. Christina!
Lol completely inaccurate Baby One More sold over 30 million in pure sales 35 million with streaming, while Ooops sold over 25 million pure sales 30 million with streaming🙄🙄
@@starbucks8556 I really don't care about that, I want to see the sales of my fav and not if an album where the artist didn't write a single song sold more than all of hers.
je ne comprends pas ce genre de video.... c'est quoi l idée? montrer le déclin? c'est une artiste avant tout... mise là et qui ne Maitre pas tou. comme toutes les artistes
So fake 😂 Britney first album in year's 2000 was around 20 million of copy no streaming at all ! In the zone and britney album reach the 20 million since 2022 !! Circus sold more than 10 million! On her 2016 billboard performance, they're saying mlre than 140 million worldwide only for her 9 albums, no remix or streaming include!!!
The sales aren't completely accurate for the year, but the Britney album has not sold 20 million copies, unless it sold 13 million since 2002 which is unlikely since the strongest sales are when it is first released. Same goes for In the Zone. Circus hasn't sold 10 million, it sold 4 million by September 2009 which is accurately represented in the video. Again, the strongest sales are during the album's release year and it hasn't sold 6 million copies in the 2010s. The billboard stats are her total sales not just albums.. 🙃
@@mpgcharthistories The stats are not accurate. These numbers are fake. 1. Baby one more time sold more than 25 million physical copies in its first year of release. Oops also surpassed 20 million in 2000. 2. My Prerogative is one of the best-selling hits collections in history, at the time it sold 8 million physical copies. 3. In 2002 Britney had already sold more than 50 million records, and it's not even difficult to find this information because any interview at the time already talked about it. You have enormous difficulty in looking for concrete data, but you like to inflate the numbers of current singers who sell absolutely nothing physical or digital and need to live off streaming to be successful in their careers.
I have done research on official sales data for the albums even if it might not be completely accurate in relation to the year. Baby one more time did not sell 25 million physical copies in 1999 unless it only sold 8 million copies since then which is unlikely considering Circus has sold 4 million copies since 2009. Please don't come for my videos just because you don't like the artists that I featured. It is just facts that sales are dying out in favour of streaming since the 2010s.
