She's not singing live here, she's miming to a pre-recorded live studio version of the track. Check out 2:33, she's supposed to continue singing "night" but instead Britney begins to mime to "and they say" with no vocals appearing from her voice. It's pretty obvious and a lot singers used to do this around this time.

She's never been a great singer but at least she tried here. Although i believe that today's personality has to do with the fact she surely is under a lot of medication. She has been through a lot and it shows. I'm not her fan but i hope God bless her life and she gets better.

she sang live... because she did not do much of a dancing here.. the girl in the audience is still britney.. the video is edited..copying the concept of the 'lucky' music video where she looks at herself.
I know this is freaking old, but I wanna say that she CAN sing. The problem is that she is being forced to sing in a way that hurts her vocal cords, plus in a range that’s not hers. She is a contralto. Go watch the Disney videos when she was young, and you can see what im talking about. Her voice is deep, not pitchy.
