Steph’s take on vinegar is the same as mine and my sister’s, we were literally saying yesterday how the onion vinegar has to soak the paper otherwise it’s not enough. Edit: Tom doesn’t use a lot of vinegar if he’s buying Sarsons - bougie. I use so much I only buy own brands.

Fries with vinegar is the “BOMB”.

I love an excellent fish sandwich so I get the fish/buttered bread...but not grilled. But they’d all hate my order. Fried haddock, chips, w/tartar sauce & dunk the chips in the tartar as well. Light vinegar. A nice crisp coleslaw on the side. No peas. And I love pickles, but not on my fish order.

I think she just threw everything on the plate so she'd have a better chance. They should do one where it's within a budget so she can't do that as I'm sure Tom would have won on cost in that case.

I’m gluten free, and am lucky enough to have a fully gf chip shop locally! Often I don’t even bother with fish - large chips with extra salt and vinegar and a pot of curry sauce. Perfect 👌

Battered fish with extra salt and extra, extra vinegar on the chips. Extra tartare. Perfect. Cup of earl grey tea to cut the grease.

Fish and chip shop orders are very personal that guy is right. Once you know what you like you stick to it. Sometimes I get cod chips and mushy peas, unless I am just walking past and had no intention of getting anything but then I think a little savoury snack wont do any harm and I just get a large battered sausage. Or sometimes I get a bit of doner meat with my fish n chips or no fish n chips but just chips n meat instead. Unless I just get a steak and kidney pie on its own or sometimes with chips. I have on occasion got fish chips and one piece of SFC cos its lush too. And thats about it, unless Im in Scotland than I always get a haggis supper on the first visit and a black pudding supper on the return visit. That usually sets me up until the third visit when I get a fish supper, haddock of course. Also a scotch pie and chip is great too especially in gravy and ye they do deep fry the pie and yes it is delish.

Lol. Grilled fish isn't *that* unpopular in my end of the world, cooked with butter and lemon juice it's pretty good. 🤷‍♀️. And I'm coeliac myself, so I'm glad that it's an option. It'd be pretty rude to not have options, so that everyone can enjoy some fish.
