"Now they lead" is because this Cup still uses the visitor goals as advantage. So if the second leg ties by 0-0 or 1-1 Miami goes through because they have more visitor goals

The young guy from Miami you were talking about is Benjamin Cremaschi. He is currently sidelined with a hernia.

Great reaction, boys. Definitely do more MLS. We won the Leagues Cup and were finalists in the US Open Cup. Either accomplishment qualified InterMiami for CONCACAF Champions Cup. Daz, the Miami kid you're referring to, is Benjamin Cremaschi. He's hurt right now. He'll eventually be back. David Ruiz is the other local youngster we have that has a lot of promise. We just finished signing a young Argentinian midfielder, Frederico Redondo.

Miami won Leagues Cup and that's how they got their ticket, plus they made it to the final of the US Open Cup

When Messi joined at the back end of last season he won inter Miami the Leagues Cup, which is why they got into this competition. Btw the winner of this competition gets into the club world cup 😉 Also away goals hold more weight in this competition (like the old CL format).

The Miami player who had a goal disallowed was their young Paraguayan midfielder Gomez. He was recently named the best player in the South American U23 Olympic Qualifying tournament (which Paraguay stunned everyone by wining while knocking defending gold medalists Brazil out of the Olympics).

CONCACAF Champions Cup is the North American champions league. It’s open to club teams from Canada, mexico, U.S., El Salvador, Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique, and Suriname. Haiti used to participate before they shut down their league in 2020 and never started it back up. Eighteen clubs from MLS/Liga MX/Canadian Premier league enter the tournament automatically and via league play, and the other participating countries have to go through qualifying tournaments based on league play to fight out for the remaining nine spots. Five teams get a pass into the round of sixteen while the other twenty-two enter int he first round. All matches are two legs and away goals decides aggregate ties.

CONCACAF is Confederation Of North And Central American And Caribbean Associations of Football. South America is CONMEBOL and has their own league. However, Guyana, French Guiana, and Suriname play in the Caribbean sub-region on account of not wanting to play Argentina and Brazil.

The CONCACAF is everything as high as Canadian clubs and everything as low as Panamanian clubs,and also Caribbean clubs as well. Essentially our version of Champions League in North America.

And it’s insane. Games in snow. Games in tropical downpours. Bags of urine thrown at opposing fans. Homophonic chants in Mexico. Dark arts of time wasting. Corrupt officials. It’s insane and kind of awesome.

CONCACAF stands for Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football. CONCACAF includes the South American countries of Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana, which are part of the Caribbean Region along with all the island-nations of the Caribbean. The North American Region is Canada, Mexico and the United States. The Central American Region is Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Panama. Inter Miami qualified for the Champions Cup by winning the 2023 Leagues' Cup (competition between MLS and Liga MX from Mexico). Qualification places for the CONCACAF Champions Cup is as follows: 6 Liga MX clubs, 5 MLS clubs, 2 Canadian Premier League clubs, 1 U.S. Open Cup winner (U.S. version of the FA Cup, played for since 1913), 1 Canadian Championship winner, 3 Leagues Cup clubs, 6 Central America Cup clubs and 3 Caribbean Cup clubs.

I would love for y’all to do more MLS, MLS is my favorite soccer league honestly, but just please know that there are 28 other fanbases outside of Miami, and there are many of us fans who support those other teams like me with Nashville/Charlotte. It’s a fun little league. A very welcoming community of fans, too.

They kept saying "they lead the tie" which was new to me. The best I could make of it was since the second leg is in Miami. Who knows?
@coyotelong4349
@coyotelong4349 3 месяца назад
In this sense, “tie” just means the match or fixture A match or fixture specifically in a tournament though, like this, is often called a “tie” The team leading the tie is the team leading in aggregate goals (total goals across the two legs)
@loganleroy8622
@loganleroy8622 3 месяца назад
I'm assuming they meant lead because they are giving the advantage on aggregate to the team with the more away goals.
@dennislopez1272

The salary cap in MLS is gonna make that hard to do. The salary cap is going up every year, so it will help, in making the MLS a bigger player.
@HarveyWallbangers2
@HarveyWallbangers2 3 месяца назад
It won’t pass EPL in my lifetime, but I could see it passing Ligue 1 some day. At some point the cap is going to go up and it will have stronger teams and parity that is going to make the league extremely interesting. Despite the perception from 10 years ago that it’s a retirement league (Miami doesn’t help), it’s more of a development league (like the Eredivisie). Teams have gone away from old stars from Europe to young stars from the Americas (Davies, Almiron, Almada, Cucho, Redondo, de la Vega, etc). The academies are getting stronger too (Noel Buck, Esmir, Chris Brady, Tolkin, etc.)
