Mitch and Scott actually met as 8-9 year olds in a community theater production of Charley and the Chocolate Factory! (Scott played Charley} If you ever want to see a full pro music video by them try Guy.exe; it is hilarious and terrific music as well as Mitch in Mad Scientist mode.

Have you seen The Wizard of Oz? That's a musical. Todrick Hall did a 10 minute homage to it featuring Pentatonix - "The Wizard of Ahhhs" it is excellent and you should check it out.

Mitch seems to sing anything so effortlessly. The rest of PTX you can see in their faces when they reach for certain notes. They are all amazing singers but Mitch is so fluid with it.

Scott and Mitch (and Kirstie) went to the same high school, in Arlington, a suburb of Dallas, Texas, and they all were bullied and teased. Mitch in particular, with his high pitched voice, got a lot of bullying and learned to speak and sing in a more "masculine" way. One thing I like about Pentatonix is their back story, how they were stuck in this conservative suburb and dreamed of being about to do music for a living. I can visualize Mitch singing this in his bedroom dreaming about a better future.

FYI -- There are two types of SuperFruit videos. This was an episode of their vlog. When Pentatonix first moved to Los Angeles Mitch and Scott shared an apartment and in 2013 started the SuperFruit vlog. The episodes where mostly chat and joking around and RU-vid challenges but they did the occasional musical episode like this, where they'd get an idea, do a bit of rehearsal and film it. But in 2016 they started getting serious, wrote some original songs and worked with experienced songwriter / producers to record them. In 2017 they put out around a dozen songs, fully produced, NOT a capella, and mostly with an EDM feeling, and released them in two EPs and later as an album. And they filmed music videos for almost all of them, with sets, costumes, dancers. Someone else has suggested "guy.exe", which is the most popular, but "Imaginary Parties" and "Hurry Up" are favorites of mine.

This was done in the same key and the same arrangement as the stage show, (for instance when Scott sings the higher harmony, that is when Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda sang the higher harmony over Idina Menzel as Elpheba). The final high note Mitch sang was actually higher than Idina Menzel's version. Just beautiful, and also funny, yes. This was Mitch's birthday gift to Scott who loves Wicked. Great reaction. More Superfruit, any time, please! There is plenty to choose from - covers, medleys, humorous parodies, and kick-ass originals! I suggest the "Rihanna Anti Medley," the "Empire Medley," the "Beyonce Medley," the "Rise" cover, the "Frozen" parody, "Hip Hop goes Broadway 1 & 2," and from their original EP, I'd start with "Guy.exe" but don't stop there, it's all amazing!

Mitch isn't just a tenor, he's a natural counter tenor! That's why he can hit the highest notes with relative ease compared to standard tenors. Of course that doesn't mean he didn't work just as hard on developing control growing up (& like the rest of PTX & any truly good singer) continues to, but his voice being naturally high to start with definitely made him stand out even in high school. (Unfortunately he was teased & bullied about it when younger but now, as others have said, they've been proven wrong & Mitch gets the last laugh!)

Scott is playing Galinda and Mitch is Elpheba who end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the good witch in the Wizard of Oz. The setting is they are roommates at school and are friends, but they are now going separate ways so Elpheba can be herself. The play is fantastic!

if you want to branch into Superfruit +Broadway....try their "Hip-Hop goes Broadway" 1 & 2, and "Pop goes Broadway - with Shoshana Bean"...of course stay for the bloopers at the end of all three. Enjoy!

This was done back in the days before superfruit was a serious singing group. This was when superfruit was just a side bit they did it was for having fun and joking around. They did this bcz it was Scott's birthday and he asked Mitch to do this for him and im not sure he really wanted to though they both love Wicked. Also ptx was invited to do the Wicked celebration on NBC they performed it was amazing you might have to find another reactors video to see it but its worth it!

this video is the first thing I ever saw of Mitch and Scott and I was hooked. The voices of these two just blow my mind. How they bounce back and forth so easily. Wicked is Scott's favorite musical and he was supposed to get to see it but was sick. Mitch put this performance together for Scott. I think after seeing this video I binged watched all their videos and then went looking for more and found Pentatonix. Their talent never ceases to amaze.

Wicked was Scott's favorite musical. Mitch did this as a birthday present to Scott. You need to do more superfruit! Frozen with Kirstie, feeling myself (those two can rap!) they are so funny together. Hip hop goes Broadway 1 and 2. Can't go wrong with them.

I'm happy. We went to a music video and musical theater broke out. You don't expect a green face to have a voice like that. Actually I really liked hearing it without watching it, which is a weird thing to say. If they write up a whole musical I predict that it would be a success. Rodgers and Hammerstein, Mitch and Scott? Why not?

I believe this was done for Scott's Birthday because he wanted to see Wicked but for reasons he couldn't go so Mitch said lets so a video of his Fav song.

I couldn't click fast enough when I got the notification for this! Very fun and I was just waiting for the Mitch note in the end to see your faces! Thank you for doing this. Another fun one they did where the wig appears is Frozen Medley that they did with Kirstie from PTX (there may have been alcohol involved when they did it) , the bloopers to that one are very funny.

Hello Brit Pops. Thank you for this one. A lot fun of and always impeccable vocals. Loved when you stopped near the beginning and said Mitch "stepped up the voice on the defying gravity" ....and you had no idea what was to come with the finale. Perfect vocals from Mitch.

Yeah. It does take more than 30 seconds to get the song if you're not familiar with it or the Broadway play called Wicked or The Wizard of Oz movie.

Wicked is Scott's favorite musical and he couldn't go so mitch did this for his birthday. Wicked was pre wizard of oz when Glenda and Elphaba were friends at school. One of the things I've always admired about Mitch is that he sings so effortlessly. He doesn't seem to struggle to reach those higher notes.

6:06 I always felt like that was a great background choice. It looks like his hair IS the night sky, until you catch a shine of a hat or lights off the hair, and it breaks the illusion, to let you know it is an illusion, and then it fades right back into sky hair.

I would *highly* suggest you guys checking out their collaboration with Toddrick Hall for 'Wizard of Ahhhs' it is simply magnificent and glorious! Also if you are liking their superfruit stuff I'd check out Guy.EXE, Hip-Hop Goes Broadway 1 & 2 (stay for the bloopers), and 'Feelin Myself'!

Football and military aren't really my thing, so for my BPR fix I'm watching some faves today, and this seems a perfect time to prod you about Superfruit's 'Frozen' medley. 😉 Three reasons: it's fun and festive (Disney, duh), the infamous blond wig makes an appearance, Kirstie appears in Disney Princess mode (so does Mitch, actually 😁), and the bloopers are hilarious. A drunk trio purposely singing badly still manages to sound better than the average person doing their best. Plus it's been a while since you did Superfruit. I think that's more than 3 reasons, actually. Ah well. I could list more, but I won't 🤣🤣🤣 Pretty please? Edit. Ugh. Why are the usernames different? I don't like change. 😞

Hi, we’re are finally home, just over a month in Turkey and the raging heat, I came home looking like a full milk bottle, lol, it was too hot (hasn’t stopped us booking another 3 weeks in September. Been wondering when this one was going to turn up 😆 I rambled enough when you released this on Patreon, but I had to pop in here too so that I could drop off the care package I prepared for Chuey's Mama on the off-chance she sneaks in. I have two pairs of doggie ear defenders for Hank and Chuey, and some beer and chocolates for Mama herself, along with an open-ended offer of free counselling from yours truly if ever she needs it 😁😁😁 Man, I love this though. hi! you need to react to Morissette - Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw (live band performance) from june 5th. it‘s phenomenal, her performance is so powerful and intense it‘s just ridiculous. even if you don’t understand a word you can feel it all. also there is no singer on this planet who can sing that song in this way I think.

Avocado facial accident! LMAO!! That's what it looks like. Now, for reals, I am quite tolerant of "show tunes". Years ago I was a surgical nurse and we had a surgeon that ALWAYS played show tunes in the operating room. Sit down Gentlemen & EnderOllie4, I LIKE THIS!!! Oh come on B1, Cats, Les Miserables, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!!, La Cage Aux Folles, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Ragtime, ETC. The falsetto is very King Diamond/Mercyful Fate, hit some of that soon!

The flow of the video was pretty much destroyed by the elongated pauses of the reactions, especially the last reaction before the song ended. Would have loved to have viewed the video in a more flowing manner as to really get a better feel for the conversation and exchanges that were going on between the two artists.
