The real Mr. Bojangles was Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, tap dancer, singer, and actor in the 1930s-40s. In 1940 he tap danced down the main street of my town.

Born in South Carolina, lived in North Carolina most of my life. I’ve eaten my share of Bojangles over 41 years. Easily better than KFC. I thought Bo’s was going downhill, until Popeyes started moving in. Bojangles has since upped their game and is as good as I ever remember. Cheers to all the lovely H’s! GOD bless!

We moved to Charlotte in 1978 and discovered Bojangles, which has just starting out. I can honestly say it remains some of the best fried chicken out there. And as you found out, the Dirty Rice is one of one. They take the leftover breakfast snausage from the AM cook and smash it into white rice with veg and herbs. You could totally make a meal out of a side of pinto beans and a side of Dirty Rice. Cheat code: the little packets of Texas Pete hot sauce (made in Winston-Salem, NC) are what heat heads add to the chicken to bump it up a notch.

I worked at Bojangles, I lived off spicey chicken biscuitd and fries with honey mustard. The fry seasoning is so popular they sell it in shakers.

i think the most slept on thing is their fried sweet potato pie. it's so good and covered in cinnamon sugar.

Bojangles is the best in NC. We like Popeye's and Chick-fil-A, but Bojangles is the go-to in NC. The tea is the best. The Boberry biscuit is fire. You should've gotten the cinnamon twist with extra frosting is fantastic. The dirty rice has sausage not beef.

Born and raised in NC...still here!! We go to our local Bojangles all the time!!! Where we live, our Bojangles and Popeyes are right next to each other. Bojangles is always busy, not so much the Popeyes! Baby H is the absolute cutest!!! Hope you guys enjoy your time here in NC!!! :)

When I was a senior in HS Bojangles came to Poughkeepsie NY and I worked for them until they closed down because the people here didn't understand how much better Bojangles was than KFC!

4:49 my family drove down to South Carolina for my cousin’s wedding (we are originally from New Jersey). It was a whole roadtrip for the family and our first place we stopped to eat once in SC was Bojangles. It is, to this day, my favorite chicken fast food. Chick-Fil-A is a close second, but Bojangles had SO MUCH flavor compared to other chicken places! When my family heard one was coming to NJ, we FLIPPED! We were so happy! Haven’t heard any updates on it, here’s to hoping it finishes soon 😅

For me, the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese biscuit is my go to with the Cajun Filet Biscuit a close second. They would also put pimento cheese on any biscuit (limited offer) and that Pimento Cheese on a steak biscuit was awesome too.

Make sure you go back to Bojangle's for breakast! Also try to find a Biscuitville while you're in NC. It's not open for dinner though.

As a native New Yorker, we hadn't heard of Bojangles until we moved to South Carolina in 2009. And without question Bojangles is our absolute favorite place to go and get some fried chicken. I think Bojangles is just found in the southeast, although I do not know this for sure. But we have them everywhere in SC and I probably go there for lunch at least twice per week. The chicken is great as are their sides...my favorite being their fries and dirty rice. Glad you had a chance to try some. It's awesome!

To me, mac and cheese is a bit of a palate cleanser, or maybe a palate cooler when eating even slightly spicy foods. For that reason, m&c also goes very well with BBQ with sauce on it.

Another NC resident here who grew up with Bojangles. Back in the day the biscuits contained lard (pig fat) and they were soooo good. They are still tasty now but the old school biscuits were even better!

Here in Texas, Golden Chick is a state chain restaurant you're only gonna find here. They are amazing! Not sure how many more times you wanna visit Texas when you got 50 other states to visit, but give it a try if you're ever back. You will have to try their Zing powder on your chicken, it's the best!

I haven’t been to Bojangles for almost 40 yrs,used to go to the one in Murfreesboro,TN. My favorite was always dirty rice and a chicken thigh. Brings back good memories 😁😁

I get the same thing when I go to Bojangles: For lunch or dinner: #13 (3 piece dark with mac n cheese and dirty rice and a large sweet tea For breakfast: #3 (sausage biscuit with cheese, Bo’tato Rounds, and a large Pepsi)

Sanford is a nice little quiet town

The sweet tea is what cleanses the pallet and yes, people absolutely do dip their biscuits and in your case Bird dog; in their creamed potatoes! We generally use a biscuit at the end to "sop up" what's left on the plate, be it mashed potatoes or chicken juice... 😅👍

You now need to give "Cook Out" a try. They serve food that tastes like a backyard BBQ and have more than two dozen types of milkshakes!

A busy restaurant is always a good sign. The problem with the major fast food chains is that they used to be more popular but aren't as much now, and the corporate heads can't seem to figure out why. In one word, quality. It's why McDonald's looks so boring now. They see Chipotle doing a lot of business so they change their building to look like that, but that's not why Chipotle gets so much business. People will accept a lower quality if it's fast and cheap, but not as much if it's not.
