Brittany puts the hammer down wherever she goes. Track record times & speed. No stopping this lady. Congrats to Brittany and her team. Thanks Nitro Alley for the show.
I got to see her in Vegas, years ago, my FIRST time ever seeing these absolutely ridiculous cars. She was amazing back then too. Imma female builder & hot rodder, & she makes me so dang proud. Not just a pretty face but a SERIOUS talent. I’m old enough to remember when us “run whatcha brung” racers were ecstatic over a 15 second 1/4.😁🤣 These machines aren’t driven they’re PILOTED. Blink & you miss it. Never thought I’d see this and it’s amazing. WELL DONE BRITT!!👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Brittany is right in her element . She knows how to handle pressure. I am so glad that Grubby and the Whole team are getting the fruits of their hard earned labor. What an incredible Pro Career she continues to demo straight in Top Fuel. She has proven and earned her place to be in sitting exactly where she is at , hopefully right on the cusp of a Second T/F World Championship. Good Luck Brit and entire FlavorPak/MONSTER team.
I live in the UK my nearest strip is now a huge housing Estate. I now have a 5 hour round trip to my nearest strip. Brittany is a Force to be reckoned with. I cant believe I did that. I have to enjoy the racing on you tube. Thanks Nitro Alley for posting the videos I would not get to see my favourite motor sport otherwise. You have made an old man happy.
fucking amazing! I was at the Winter Nats in '98, watched Bernstein run 315 for the first time ever in qualifying... thought that was the greatest thing I would ever see, never thought I'd see them going this fast.
It's truly mind boggling how the NHRA has tried to slow these dragsters down, but they just keep going faster. 340 mph in 1000 ft is hard to wrap your head around. Going as fast in the 1/8 mile as they used to in the 1/4 mile. Just stunning!
When they went to 1000 feet , Don Garlits said to give the crew chiefs enough time and they would have them back to the 1/4 mile speeds. I thought he was crazy. Ha, was I wrong.
@@57HarleyDavidson I think mostly for safety and in some cases to make the races more fair (some teams have much bigger budgets than other ones) and thus more competitive, which also makes them more fun to watch.
@@57HarleyDavidson I've asked this question for years, really ever since the late 80s when they banned group b rally cars and put restrictor plates on nascar. It all comes down to money! Safety is good and letting the little man play is good too, but if these woke pc companies don't see you virtu signaling the current agenda, they stop throwing money at your sport....
it's superheroes like brittany that make american motorsport so strong. for me, american motorsport is and will always be the best in the world. Nowhere else do you get more action than there. I love him.
Cutting perfect lights also.lead to red lights, never win races doing that. Fact is with her car be a bit slower on line is fine never waste a run and let power win the race. You cut tight light when you have to cause you do not have the power or speed to cruise to win. She aint stupid she was raised by her daddy the best there is. Wins matter never cut light tight if you are faster.
These cars are masterpieces. I've been around since the engine in a rail was in front of the driver and top times for the Quarter were 9 seconds at 180 mph. I've never been more impressed.
@Lessko Brandon 9 sec @ 180 means you've accelerated at close to 1G. A lot of folks thought that 1G might be the limit because you couldn't exceed the amount of traction provided by gravity. If you ever read Hot Rod magazine from 1959-1960 you'll see references to The Magic Nine Second Bracket. I lived 5 miles from the Irwindale Drag Raceway so I was fortunate to see a lot of changes in the sport.
What I like about Nitro Alley is the shot at the line that shows the countdown on the tree. Plus, it's great to watch a great driver at work! Man she's good!
Its so sad to see the grand stands empty like that. I used to go to OCIR and Pomona in the 70's, 80"s ( until OCIR shut down ), & 90's and on Saturday and Sunday it was so packed, I never went without having a reserved ticket because I was afraid I wouldn't have a place to sit... the same could be said for Firebird in the 80's & 90's..
Surely 300mph over 1/4 mile has to be bending the laws of physics ? Full marks to Brittany and Top Fuellers all over the world, but for something with four wheels to move that fast from a standing start, my mind is completely boggled. I haven't been to a track since the late 90s so I guess I've missed a few things ;)
it's crazy right? I too took a long hiatus from the sport and in the last several years started going again. The power is insane. You talk about bending the laws of physics... just imagine... You could be driving 200 mph and as you cross the starting line, the top fuel dragster launches and still beats you to the finish line.
Love Brittany, want to see her do well. No point in resetting records, and #1 qualifier wo getting the win on Sunday. Winning on Sunday and taking home the championships is what's important. Grubnic isn't the right man for the job, his own record speaks for itself.
The Grubb!!!!! He is a pretty good crew chief to have on your side!! Brittany is sharp off the line and easy to look at! John is King of the NHRA, like him or not! He has done more for drag racing just second to Mr. Big Daddy! (Don Garlits) in my humble opinion
I witnessed a lot of speed records at Englishtown and Maple Grove. I remember Larry Dixon going 336 in the 1/4 mile at Englishtown. Brittany is faster in 1000 feet. Incredible!!
All BS aside, at Norwalk, Ohio one father's day night under fire I witnessed Tony Pedregon and Gary Denshem make a side by side pass at 339+MPH like the cars were welded together. Never heard anything more about it but it sure was something to experience. These cars under the right atmospheric conditions and track conditions have been running these speeds for decade's. Tony was driving for J. Force at the time. That's how long ago this was.
This is interesting to me but i don't know what to make of it. I used to be a hardcore 1/4 fan when it was 1/4. I pretty much stopped watching when it went to 1000, it felt like they created a new game that i wasn't interested in. ...like basketball if they lowered the hoop a foot or 2.
The 1964 Bluebird gas turbine car hit a land speed world record of 403.1MPH over a flying mile, this dragster hit the majority of that speed in the blink of an eye…
I've seen John race quite a few times over the decades. All of them at, the now closed Raceway Park in Englishtown. I've also watched Ashley run funny cars there and Brittany and Courtney run Alcohol dragsters there as well.
Like father like daughter, it is in their dna to be fast. You know daddy loves this more than his own wins. Parents always want kuds to do better than them, she is off to a great start. Jihn alwzys a hoit but when asked about any of his daughters you see dad mode faster than he cuts the tree lol. Great family of racing legend.
@@Chad-em2fg You think Ashley, Salinas, Brown, and the Kalittas, don't have as much or more money? Conrad Kalitta is a billionaire. David Grubnic is a great tuner and Brittany is a solid driver. Hard work and lots of passes pay off.
Man if they would stretch the tracks to the full 1/4 mile again and give some more shut down area, I'm sure we'd see 350 mph. As long as the engine held together.😏
@@davevandenbranden3309 it can't handle much more than what they're given. Goodyear engineers don't want them going faster than 340 mph. They are working hard though to get them stronger and consistent from batch to batch. I want to do some research with some engineers this off-season. Idk if it'll happen though.
@@slowpoke96Z28 Gotcha. At first read I didn’t comprehend that you were commenting about top speeds. Makes more sense now. Though it surprises me that the top speed is an issue when the RPMs of the tire are much higher just after launch but I know nothing about the effect on material properties. I’ve always been fascinated by how the tire increases in diameter so much that it actually acts as the gearing. So cool. Good luck with getting the research gig!
LOL. John, the guy that has won 17 championships and 155 races. Then has introduced his offspring into the sport to continue the winning DNA. That John Force. 🙂
