Thank you very much for this video and for sharing your knowledge. Its very useful. I have only two observations: 1) I would recommend to remove the filling plug before the drain plug to allow air entering into engine for proper oil drainage (vaccum is avoided). 2) I think the procedure you use for checking oil level is not correct and may be dangerous. You should not measure the oil level after screwing and unscrewing the dip stick as shown in the video. Correct way is to s

Thank you for sharing. However I would recommend to review the oil level check procedure shown in your video as it is not according to Brixton instructions. This will avoid misleading oil measurements that can lead Brixton users to serious engine damage. Many thanks.

@vivianabalduzziwheeler1631
@vivianabalduzziwheeler1631 3 года назад
After positioning the bike on its center stand and running the engine for about. 3 min, screw out the oil level dip stick, clean it with a dry cloth and plug-in. Do not screw it when checking oil level. Then check the oil level that should be between max and min marks. After checking oil level screw the oil dip stick.

I am surprised that there is not a magnet set into the filter cap, that would at least catch any metal particles that got through the very course mesh of the "filter", many thanks for posting this.

@@D3Sshooter I prefer to drill a small pocket hole then locktite a small super magnet in place, you will be surprised how much it collects, and with a simple mesh filter like this has it could save trouble later on, your idea of a regular oil change is very wise ! Chris B.
@D3Sshooter
@D3Sshooter 5 лет назад
@@453421abcdefg12345 , that is also an option...as long as the magnet is not restricting the flow ( which it will , if its on the filter maize) . That is why I would glue it to inside of the cap... that way the flow of oil is not restricted at all.... and yes, i am aware that it will collect a lot... in the old days the drainplug was often magnetic... Good point..... TXS

D3Shooter: Oh no I did not mean bury it in the filter element, I think sinking it in the centre of the cap where it would be in the middle of the pressure spring, if the cap is thick enough in that area, the super magnets are very small so could be easy to encapsulate in epoxy resin, if you get the coin shaped one, then, with a cover of resin over the bottom of the cap it should be OK. Brixton has established the minimum standard oil recommended for the engine. The liquid molly 4T 10w40 has optimum performance based on mineral technology and will work fine. However, synthetic technology in the same viscosity range (as proposed in this video) it´s an excellent recommendation.

I was under the impression that the wrap provides some insulation to keep all the gasses in the exhaust at the right temp to avoid a drop in power?
