Because i keep seing it in the comments lol. No i have not heard of ERB until now!! Yall cant be so shocked lol. Not everyone is gonna know your favorite youtube channel lol. Literally no one has said anything to me to react to one of there videos or showed me their channel. If yall wanna thank someone go thank crypt lol
It's not that it's our favorite it's that it's a one of the most popular channel on RU-vid but they have gotten famous people on here like snoop (moses vs santa) but these are amazing 🤣🤣
@@dahoodie3158 not everyone knows who they are fam. You completely missed the point lol. It took me seeing crypt posting a reaction to know about this lol. You probably are new around here so you dont know im still in school so 🤷🏾♂️
@@SITLTV dude you really need to learn how to communicate better I didn't say that your awful or anything I just said I hate the fact u disrespecting them they have been around for years and ever video they put out get over 50 million views and they put a lot of effort and quality to that so don't judge it like that they had snoop Dogg in one of them and skrillex and T-Pain if it was cringy I doubt those og rappers would have been featured and their audience are grown up so to call me a kid like that just for stating my opinion is really immature don't jump to conclusions and start thinking before u lose more respect and subscribers mate
Tim Scurry= Tim Curry "Ask Robin if I drop bars" a reference to how Joker beat Jason Todd with a crowbar and then killed him "Shinning man" a reference to how Jack Nicholson played both Joker and the main villain in the Shinning
Why didn’t you mention the "I leave Skarsgård in Arkham" reference, or the "You’re a sewer troll that Stephen King wrote between his lines" reference that mentions Stephen King’s Cocaine addiction?
@Battered Boggart Homie's it's riddled with nonsensically niche bars "Ninety-nine red balloons, bitch and I dare you to take one" Is both Jaz Z and 99 luft balloons, the shinning bar was all 3 of the things listed above. "Ask robin if I drop bars I bring smiles and I leave scars-gard(s) at arkham will admit that the joker just killed it" Is not only delivered insanely so such to fucking hyper embed the Bill Skarsgard reference (Actor who played it recently) it's got the double entandre about rap bars and the crowbar he dropped upon Robin's face, but more importantly he hits 'The Killing Joke' pose. And his joke just killed IT. I mean dude. Also like the bar was a set up to Pennywise's Lovecraft line to wrench in Romero's stache. Like they're actually both lyricists so they had the wisdom to leave responses at all times. Wild bruh Lloyd and Peter are insane.
The “rap, rap, rap, rap” thing pennywise does is a reference to the scene when Georgie dies. He asks him what he likes about the circus and says “annnnnnd popcorn?! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop!” To imitate the popcorn and also to be playful to the child he’s about to eat. So in this rap he starts out by talking to joker as kid because that’s how he lures his victims
I am not sure he had enough knowledge of either characters history to appreciate all of the references made. However, he did recognize the overall talent of the video.
@@Cordite842805 Yeah, Caesar Romero played the first Joker. He did not get all the older Batman/Joker reference from Bob Kane shutting Bill Finger out of the credits, Caesar Romero and the Scooby Doo cartoon.
I don't know... I kind of enjoyed seeing someone go into ERB blind. Most of us have some idea what to expect, so it was fun watching somebody experience it for the first time. Honestly, I don't get the negativity in these comments. It was a fun reaction.
My favourite ERB match-ups: 1) Jack The Ripper VS Hannibal Lector 2) Western Philosophers VS Eastern Philosophers 3) George Carlin VS Richard Pryor 4) Alexander the Great VS Ivan the Terrible
Ok I will agree with West vs East Philosophers and Alexander the Great Vs Ivan the Terrible but Mr T vs Mr Rogers? Hitler vs Vader 1-3? Bill Gates vs Steve Jobs? or if you want something a bit more brutal... Clint Eastwood vs Jackie Chan or Marilyn Monroe vs Cleopatra
well we'll give him a pass on this one... it is his first ERB after all. But seriously in the future it's recommended to do research before watching... so you can truly get all the bars.
I have to ask and I am not trying to be disrespectful: are you serious and have never heard of ERB? They are the gold standard in this genre that many attempt to copy, but none can surpass. It is a little weird, but when they drop a video it is a little celebration and everyone watches. If you are doing a reaction, they are on pretty much every reactors list so I highly suggest you check them out because they are very popular in that area. They do get views but it doesn’t matter because I promise you will enjoy them. 🤘🏻 Edit: and I think you missed at the end: yes, that was T Pain in the thumbnail. They’ve also had Snoop play as Moses in Santa Clause vs Moses. Enjoy brother.
Are you even allowed an account on youtube without knowing ERB?... I dont understand how its even possible but if it *is* possible, is it actually legal?
First time ERB reactions are always my favorite, I love it when folks come in skeptical (hell, I used to avoid ERB because it looked so corny) and then realize that Peter and Lloyd are rapper-ass rappers, haha.
Epic Rap Battles of History started 10 years ago. These two guys dress up as famous people, historical figures, or fictional characters and they rap against each other with music and everything.
Your reaction took me out! I guess it would be really weird if you have no idea of the concept. If you check out more, it’s probably better to do ones with characters that you know. Otherwise lots of references will just go over your head. I recommend Ronald McDonald vs The Burger King as another funny pop culture reference one.
I'm not even trying to hate cause a lot of these reaction people do this but he just feels a tad bit pretentious and overly exaggerated and it's majorly annoying
Found your channel from a recommended side bar from ScriptWork's page. Can't believe you haven't heard of ERB until now, but hey you have your next year's worth of reactions now going through their channel. It's good stuff. Some of their battles have insane bars, brutal even. Check out Miley Cyrus vs Joan of Arc, Clint Eastwood vs Bruce Lee, Marylin Monroe vs Cleopatra.
the cask of Montelado is a short story by edgar allen poe, where a character called montressor takes revenge on fortunado, who he lures with him while he was drunk and wearing a clownsmask, got drunk off of whine from the brand Amontelado. fortunado ended up chained in a catacomb where undressor whalled up the entree with brick and mortar. 50 years later his corpse still hangs there walled up. the term "may he rest in piece" actually came from this story.
Welcome to the ERB rabbit hole. Keep reacting to these videos, I think you will enjoy them. You are correct in that the side you know more about you catch more of the jokes. A couple favorites to suggest: Edison v. Tesla, Zeus v. Thor, and Roosevelt v. Churchill.
10:15 *Blinks* ... Holy fuck that was actually a pretty awesome seque into post-reaction editing, like, *daym* I had to watch that back a few times it was so unexpected and kinda cool, wow
One thing about that "Joker just killed IT" Bar. When Joker had the camera up covering half his face, That was a recreation of the cover art for " The Killing Joke" graphic novel. The Killing Joke is considered one of the best and most sadistic Batman stories ever made. The thing Joker did to Batgirl and her father are savage. As for H.P. Lovecraft, He is considered the GOAT of horror writers
The Tim Scurry line is a reference to Tim Curry whom played the original Pennywise in the T.V. movie adaptation of the book. :) And H.P. Lovecraft is the horror writer responsible for the Cthulhu mythos.
Loved the reaction man. IMO two of their best are Rick Grimes vs Walter White or Freddy Krueger vs Wolverine. Krueger vs Wolverine especially has some pretty hard lines in it that I think it'd be funny to see you react to for the first time. In the meantime, have a sub :)
Knowing that this is your introduction to ERB makes your reaction to this battle 100% funnier! Just subscribed because of it and hope you check out more of their videos. Don't think you'll be disappointed.
See now whats funny is we are watching you JUST now hearing about these guys... which means you got about 70+ more vids that can provide a ton of content for you. I'm sure your fan will be more then willing to give out suggestions as to which battle you should check out next. The other fun part is once you start getting into them.. then it's all about how each of the folks did and of course who won the battle.
" they pale like the moonlight you can dance with the devil in" refers to a quote of the first joker on the big screen "have you ever danced with the devil under the pale moonlight?"
Might not be the best idea to react to ERBs you dont know the characters for that well. You're pretty funny, and the editing is good, but with so little commentary and so many bars going over your head, its easy to lose interest.
Give him a break this is the 1st time hes reacted to one give it time, Hes a great reactor and one Of the best when it comes to great energy in my opinion
@@NexusPhotografi I agree, he seems pretty good. His energy is good, and yes this is the first time he's reacted to an ERB. You act like I'm attacking him or something. It's just valid criticism; if he doesn't have much to say because he just doesnt know the characters, it's hard to make a great reaction. It isn't shameful to not know every character lol
These guys are pros. They research the hell out of the two subjects. They will have TONS of historical references. Many bars actually have multiple layers. They are mind blowing with lyrics, production and flow.
And taking 10 seconds to laugh and say "BRO I CAN'T TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY. WHAT IS THIS?" I'm going to go watch someone else react to it who won't pause the video cause half of the reactors actually pause it every 5 seconds when there is a good bar.
It's a site where people post annotations on song lyrics. It helps explain references that you might not catch otherwise -- and the notes on this one show just how deep the bars go.
now that youve gotten your first taste of the series....id recommend you check out some of their older episodes. they do good work with the beats and bars
I don't understand why everyone is mad at him for thinking it's cringey I mean I absolutely love ERB and their videos are amazing and I would much rather watch ERB than an actual rapper but you got to understand this is his 1st time watching a ERB video so yea when I first saw my 1st ERB video thought it was cringey too but I watched a couple more and I spent like a whole day just watching ERB so don't get mad at his reaction he even said that the gangbang line was better than some rappers come up with so just respect his reaction
The Joker's voice here is based on Mark Hamill's legendary voicework for the character from Batman the Animated Series. Hamill has irrevocably defined the first voice most people hear in their heads when they think of the Joker.
Bruh. Ghandi vs MLK Jr, Albert Einstein vs Stephen Hawking, Teddy Roosevelt vs Winston Churchill, and the original Darth Vader vs Hitler. ERB is awesome.
Joaquin Phoenix played Joker in the newest movie, the Phoenix is mythological bird that cannot truly die, it burns up at the end of a lifespan and is reborn from it's ashes, again and again.
"as far as mr king goes, im a shining man wink" refers to the fact that jack nicolsen played both the first joker on the big screen and the dad in the movie adaptation of the shining
