Easily ONE of the best that's for sure, But there's far too many amazing Songs in Mods all around that could compete for how good this is. "Including your own Songs my friend lol" So it's definitely not quite THE best :P
This song feels really emotionally powerful, and I think part of that is its juxtaposition to the rest of the Chapter One songs. It's the only one where she appears solely as herself, without imitating anyone else. Although it's a great opening in its own right, I'm surprised it comes first. It feels like after trying to brush off Boyfriend or get him to leave her alone, Nikku is finally showing her true colors to him.
I'm super curious how the Story will play out, But remember that it is a Demo atm, This could very well be one of the last Songs in Chapter One when the Story gets fleshed-out more, It's easily the best Song Nikku's ever sings in the Mod, And like you said it feels like it's because she's showing Boyfriend who she truly is. Also with the whole "World" that they are standing on crumbling beneath them during the Song, It certainly feels like a "Last" Song in some capacity, I could see this Song go into some big confrontation with the "Lost God" afterward, With whatever THAT Song being the last one in the Chapter? Who knows :P
@@monochrumthe2nd773 Memes. She just wanted to be part of the crowd in those Songs xD Also there are still a few moments here and there that her Vocals change to sound slightly different then normal, In Broadcasting? 100% Nikku's Vocals nonstop, Never-changing.
I don't understand what has everyone hyped about this song in particular. To my ear it's one of the weaker ones in the soundtrack. The instrumental is very straightforward and focused which contrasts with the main vocal melodies that don't really have a direction.
@@strangejune well opinions are like assholes everyone has them plus just because its simple doesn't mean anything, not every song saruky makes has to be heavily complicated and sample based sometimes a nice rock melody and simple vocal melodies can do a ton, hell some people say its an emotional track sometimes simple is better.
Theory time: The Hotline 024 mod is not canon to Sunset Hills, but many aspects of this reveal parts of Sunset Hills. I don't know how psychic Nikku is now, or how much the whole telepathic singing voice-mimicry is still canon. But for the sake of speculation, let's assume that Nikku is still psychic to a degree, and with her telepathy she can bridge her mind to Boyfriend and Girlfriend. A lot of the scenery of Hotline 024 is mostly for atmosphere but also drop a lot of hints. Armageddon is titled "Date at the End of The World", which if literal, depicts the end of Anaglyphos, Nikku's home planet which, according to "Lies", was destroyed around year 2020 by Asmodeux(?). Out in the sky appears to be a black hole being formed and Matzushii or Yokki on the screens. One of Nikku's last moments on Anaglyphos was with Rude#1. Hard to say if Rude#1 is also a Polygurian like Nikku, since he's from the Comic World, and how much of a Polygurian he is is up for debate. Broadcasting appears to take place well into the destruction of Anaglyphos. The beginning of Broadcasting, after all, is an emergency broadcast. The black hole has fully formed and has already started tearing up nearby planets alongside Anaglyphos. Any features left on the planet has been practically eradicated, as Nikku and the others are on floating earth and no buildings are seen. This scenery can be interpreted as Nikku's last memory of Anaglyphos before escaping, which leads to the scenery depicted in Extraterrestrial. She doesn't actually stick around to see the world end, but she did stay long enough to remember how ruined it was. A lot of the backgrounds can in fact be interpreted as Nikku's memories, with other scenes more closely associated with Boyfriend (Overdrive for example), or just jokes (like Sussy Pussy). Actually, there are five backgrounds that are tied to Anaglyphos, which is characterized by the blocky features, especially the clouds. The rest are hard to distinguish whether it's a memory of home or a memory on Earth(?). Nightland - Outskirts of an Anaglyphian town. Armageddon - Beginning of Anaglyphos' destruction. Broadcasting - Final moments of Anaglyphos. Astral Projection - Matzushii, of course. Extraterrestrial - Nikku's escape. Who knows? Maybe behind all the jokes, references, and funky beats, Nikku is grieving and this is how she copes with the reality of her situation: an alien refugee with no family left, and the family she did have are either possessed, dead, or both all in the name of a false god who wants her dead. 19-years-old, stranded on a foreign planet with an actual cult of the apocalypse trailing behind her for a prophecy. At least the empanadas are tasty.
dude an alien fugitive that copes with having a 'deity' and a whole ass cult after her with memes/references to Sonic CD is such a fucking great character archetype
this track in particular speaks deeply to my long-buried inner 12 year-old weeb self, because i recognize and grew up with a LOT of the melodies and samples used here that repeating refrain of butterfly constantly in the background, the touhou u.n owen arpeggio, that one line of classic vocaloid world is mine, some vague memory of a taiko rhythm game, and all that other incredible jazz from the late 2000s/early 2010s
This is, without a doubt, my favourite FNF theme of all time! The instrumentals are absolutely glorious, especially at the start where you managed to include an amber alert as part of the main rhythm, with the following electric guitar keeping the rhythm and feel throughout the remaining track as the countless samples make appearances in the background. It's almost like the entire planet is singing along to Nikki and BF's rap battle. Another small thing that I like is that Nikku isn't mimicking some else; This is HER voice, exclusively, and it makes the track feel more personal. She isn't trying to recreate previous songs she's overheard or attempting to put any layers between her and BF. This is just Nikku, revealing exactly who she is, against BF and GF with no holds barred What a track!
This Song just freaking SPEAKS to me man, There's tons of amazing Songs in this Mod, But this one just easily stands out as the best one the Mod has too offer, I don't know how you did it man, It's just so heavenly well-made. I'm also sure that this is one of "If not the only" Songs in the Mod where Nikku harmonizes/accompanies Boyfriend while he Sings, And it just sounds so PERFECT! Boyfriend's Solo at the very end is just so freaking EPIC as well. "I am not ashamed to admit that I've played this Song about a Dozen times so far, While all of the other Songs I've only gotten around to playing about 2-3 times each" "I first played this Mod just 3 days ago xD" I'm super close to FCing it, But I get so teary-eyed near the hardest part of the Song so I usually end up missing 2-3 Notes during it lol Edit: "My best run is now 97.36% Accuracy with only 1 miss. SUPER close man! xD" God the fact that this was the FIRST SONG really was a good idea, For literally such an absolute Masterpiece of a Song to be the INTRODUCTION for the Mod itself, Really gives you everything you need to be hyped up for everything else in the Mod ^_^
For some odd reasons, this feels like an anime opening scene now that I think about it-- especially at BF's long notes-- they sound so heavenly!!! Love it!!!
A song to set the stage. A song to set the mood and feeling of what this mod will be. A song to create a sense of "power" and emotional weight and power that was placed in this song and the ones that follow. *PASSION* The "core" of this mod. This song is literal proof of that. Sounds like both a "Beginning" and an "Ending" type of song, depending on which way you look at it. Brilliant work, Saruky. I'm ashamed that I never had a chance to check this mod out when it first came out. I knew you were a master musician because of your epic musical work and other tracks on other previous mods, but it seems that had always been an understatement. Here, you get to finally stretch your wings and fly high with ALL the creativity and heart that you can muster. Truly a masterpiece and inspiration, you are. Thank you. :)
I just discovered this mod and oh my god, it's AWESOME! I love all the references! In fact, as a fan of Local58, the start of Broadcasting really caught me off-guard. Amazing job, 24/10 stars. (Get it? Because the mod is called Hotline 024? ... Ok I'm gonna go now.)
I love how the instrumental of this samples Butterfly and What Is Love in this, and nice references to Rainbow Tylenol and Egg Reverie as well!😄🤩😎👌 And this part at 2:58 sounds like Sky Forever!
man when they say "this is a test of the emergency broadcasting system, the broadcasters in your area in voluntary cooperation with federal state and local authorities" I felt that.
Even my beloved Rainbow Tylenol in there... my ringtone since what feels like a decade ago, honestly, may even be that long by now. Not gonna comment every obscure reference but this one's really close to heart.
@@Shade_Guye I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. It's really cool to see people recognize the melody and other references that might be more obscure
@@lebeno8143 Yeah, I'm not sure how obscure Rainbow Tylenol really is but considering I don't recognise a lot of the sections in a few other songs, I'm not doubting that many don't know this song consciously.
The fact that they were able to slip in Never Gonna Give You Up at 2:36 in such a subtle and extremely smooth manner, along with every other song seemingly under the sun is astonishing to me!
This wonderful song is a fitting beginning to the equally wonderful mod "Hotline-024". The quiet intro makes me anticipate the many songs that await us in the future.
When I loaded this mod and this was the first song I knew it was gonna be a good time. It was a good time this is by far my favorite mod. 3:54 alone makes this mod a 10/10
dude this is thd first song for so long that finally touched my music heart because it's so epic! I don't even know if i had the same feeling at another song.. All dudes can say what they want, but this will be my favourite song in fnf history❤
I love the fact the amount of references there are in here, especially the local 58 moon reference. Local 58 is def one of the best analog horror series before they were popular
This song gives me flash backs of all of the mods, all of old mods that got us this far to make mods, lets all be thankful to the the legend, the mod that started it all. Whitty mod.
