Hey Stainer! Great video. :) I'm an urbanism student in Montreal and working to help bring back tramways to the city. Love to see showcase videos such as this one! Keep it going, you'll make it big!
Such an informative video! I had no idea at all of how massive the Emily Carr cut is. Great job getting views of the underground works and narrating the whole thing.
Amazing quality of video. I love the narration. I am very interested in the project and love to check on the progress once in awhile. In the future, this video (and other ones) will be of a high historic value. Thank you!
People need to demand Translink use the land they own for affordable housing. The city needs to stop holding BC Housing accountable and start getting affordable housing built. Translink, VPL, RCMP, the School Board, YMCA, and the city all have lands worth over $10 billion that can be used for affordable housing rather than high end developments that do nothing to alleviate the affordable housing crisis.
The Broadway Plan is a horrible one that’s going to cause rental prices to jump substantially along the line. Vancouver Tenants Union did an assessment and found that studios will increase by over $200 a month while 1&2 bedrooms will jump by $400-$450 a month. More vancouverites need to oppose city hall plans and demand affordable housing and rent control and really look at the plans and see how they don’t actually benefit any low income people at all.
Expanded public transit networks are crazy useful and is why rent would increase in any area but this would also allow people to live further from the city and still be able to use transit in. I agree they need more affordable housing, but that can't happen when everyone is dependent on cars and need their own parking space, there isn't enough land for that. These plans are overall a net good for the city, including low income. Some areas may be affected by rent increases and rent control may be a fix for it but everything else is still good
