I remember seeing this band live a few times and this is honestly one of his best performances. He's singing in a lower octave for lots of parts but he still sounds pretty good. Especially considering how tough of a song this is to sing.

Mad respect!! Those notes are so fucking hard to hit and he’s flawless for a live performance. 🎉

wtf is anyone bitching about this performance for? after multiple songs in full of insane high notes and intense screaming, this is damn impressive. just looking at how sweaty he was, he must have been completely wiped and out of breath. but he still persisted and hit every high note on each chorus. he's obviously not gonna sound his best after doing the energetic equivalent of running a marathon, but he did really damn well all things considering. you don't have to focus on sounding 100% perfect live. you just have to put on a good show and make sure the energy is there.

Z Hancox plus, the microphone that recorded this sounds horrible, so that didn’t help either
@Unknownusername1004

Because it always sounded this fucked up even if it was early set. He pitch shifted notes in post production he can't actually sing. Its why they dropped this sound and turned into a shit pop punk band

He hit the HIGHEST note in the chorus, give him some mad props!!!!!!!! you are stupid if you think this sucks, some of these other bands (asking alexandria being a favourite) are horrible live
@TheLowest
@TheLowest 5 лет назад
Well i mean there is more to singing than just hitting a high note. Anyone can technically scream a high note, singing is about making your voice actually sound good. Hvaing said that I still think this vocalist isn't bad at all. He just pushes he's voice a little too far in terms of what he can actually do
@glowstxnplmtrees
@glowstxnplmtrees 13 лет назад
a little rocky at times, but it gives me chills when he goes that high, especially live even if it isnt 100% perfect. along with most, i seriously doubt anyone posting on here can do better, and if you can, do a video response and lets see it

@MajicBricksStudios No. The way autotune is used in their songs is for pitch correction, you can tell by how it tries to be subtle.

@KSE828
@KSE828 14 лет назад
I don't doubt that the voice is corrected, but i'm not sure it's with autotune. It may be some sort of different editing software, as, that's what mixing and mastering is. Making sure everything sounds perfect.

@soulsanctuarymusic10 He also has a really good overtone which makes it sound even higher, because i can hit the same note but it doesnt sound as high even tho it is.
@BrandonAlberg

@Dudley3311 you've clearly never seen Incubus or Sigur Ros. The "stamina" that a singer has to keep hitting the notes is what sets the Great singers from the mediocre ones. This guy should try writing lower parts, that he can consistently hit live.
@coronasWILD
@coronasWILD 14 лет назад
vocals on this are fucking amazing.
@mbezhanov
@mbezhanov 12 лет назад
Having some live & studio experience myself, it's usually not because the guy can't sing, but because due to stage fright and/or all the jumping around the stage, he has a way faster heartbeat, so it's harder for him to take a deep breath and to hold that breath, and when you don't have enough air support it gets really hard to nail the high notes. Not to mention bad monitors - you often can't hear your voice in the monitors, which makes you yell louder, which limits your range even further...

if you've ever noticed, "Same thing we do everyday pinky (ft. craig owens of chiodos)" I don't see a craig owens here, and if you know anything about craig owens, its that he has the capacity to sing extremely high, extremely well... with that being said, that this singer can even partially match the tones Craig hits during the recording instead of singing his a major 3rd down, takes more talent than 99% of us possess, amazing play through Broadway, bravo!

@RandomPanda903 most likely the reason for off key is because he does not have a good enough monitor to hear the melody clearly. It happens alot of the time unless you have an in ear monitor which most professionals have. If he could be able to hear his voice, he would be able to correct it.

I like broadway a lot. Micah does use an auto-tune but he uses it the right way. If you can't sing auto-tunes are worthless. As a matter of fact I can see his Anatares AVP auto-tune on the bass rig. I use one. That doesn't mean this band doesn't rock. And this song sounds good.

@65thekid I think you're missing the point lol. It takes days of vocal rest for a singer's voice to come back 100%. Even if he played a show the day the before or maybe even 2 days before, it can still affect this performance. It's not just the singing he did earlier this particular night.

But there's still some that stand out from the others. i used to HATE the new Emarosa because of the huge change in sound, but i gave it a chance, granted i only like 2 of the songs on their new album, i decided to give credit to how truly talented Jonny Craig is.
