Funny, I did something similar, using a suction that I use to remove computer screens. The company actually makes their own suction cup for this purpose. Should be included though, www.amazon.com/Broan-S99526707-Suction-Cup-Tool/dp/B00EBJ2MVG/ref=pd_bxgy_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00EBJ2MVG&pd_rd_r=e24069e4-ffac-11e8-b54d-a3f4d08ced8f&pd_rd_w=wJZbq&pd_rd_wg=fMq6K&pf_rd_p=6725dbd6-9917-451d-beba-16af7874e407&pf_rd_r=QE02AR6PW6A7312HV8F2&psc=1&refRID=QE02AR6PW6A7312HV8F2
No matter what I do I can't get the new one to turn & click into place so that it stays in the socket w/o falling out. Really fries me that I might have to call a repairman to change a stupid light bulb!!!!!!
ok - here's the solution: The bulb sits inside a socket that is held in place with a somewhat flexible bracket. What is happening is that if you just try to insert the bulb you will just be pushing upward - and the socket bracket will move upward with it - so there is no resistance. Remove the filters, and the 'pan' above the filters. This will expose the bulb holding u-shaped bracket. Place your fingers on the top of the bracket, and hold the bracket down firmly so as to provide resistance to the bulb. then insert the bulb - while pressing down on the bracket. this does the trick!!!
joan charischak you shouldn’t have to do this. I’m having same issue. I can get the original burnt out bulb out, and even put it back in with a suction cup. Yet I’ve bought two different brands of GU10 bulbs and I can’t get the bulb to turn into place.
