That line was so trash on pass plays. Then the guy who was supposed to be blocking on those plays where Jones came in with no blocking, they resigned him. Wtf. One of the biggest reasons for our offense dog shitting was the pass blocking.

This is what I want to see from Brock Purdy as well. Quarterbacks compete against defenses. I want Brock Purdy to become a destroyer of defenses. I want Brock to be like an FBI profiler keeping tabs on DC's and defensive players habits and patterns. Get to know defenses so well his subconscious is programmed and the knowledge rises up into his conscious awareness without thinking creating a flow state. Add some pump fakes, look offs, hip flips, and just about anything to throw defenses off. Even if for a split second. People may not think about it but Tom Brady's head coach (Bill Belichick) was/is a defensive genius. Which means, Tom Brady was learning defenses from the best. Tom Brady has stated he'll speak with NFL quarterbacks to mentor them but a lot of them don't listen. I think Brock Purdy would listen and learn. Brock should contact Tom Brady to learn from him.

Brock Purdy plays off platform plenty. There are times when Kyle Shanahan's schemes aren't working. Brock Purdy creates and extends plays when this happens. The 49ers made it through the playoffs as a direct result of Brock Purdy being able to compete at a high level OUTSIDE of Kyle Shanahan's system. It's Kyle Shanahan's system that's benefitting from Brock Purdy running it. Kyle Shanahan is able to open up his playbook and call plays he hasn't been able to do in previous years. As Purdy stated in this interview, Shanahan's system is complicated and like another language. He's still learning it. Think about that. This is the version of Brock Purdy we're all witnessing. A third string QB thrown into the NFL fire in his first year, injured in the NFCCG, leading the 49ers back the next year all the way to the Super Bowl and Shanahan's system is still like a foreign language to him. And as he was saying, when he and Shanahan connect on a deeper level in the coming years this is when they're going to be more dominate. This is the beginning of the Kyle Shanahan/Brock Purdy era.
