Stafford was the SMARTEST player on the field all game long. He won the game with his mind. Calling audibles at the right times throughout the 2nd half was the difference maker. So many pass plays that he turned into run plays when he noticed the middle of the whiners D Line can be exploited. Stafford is ALREADY a for sure Hall Of Famer.
Might’ve been Purdy’s best game he’s played. Seeing him play that well in a division game when the OL is bad, the run game isn’t humming, the defense is getting gashed, 3 offensive stars are out, and Aiyuk is struggling was extremely impressive. Only 8 incompletions with 7 drops. Even the fumble was cause the RT got smoked. A real statement game from Purdy and Jennings, but now we have questions literally everywhere else.
Purdy played amazingly. That's the MOST IMPORTANT PART. He's the end-all be-all for the future of this team. He's about to take up a lot of cap space and the media wanted him to 'prove it', and he did. The defense needs to adjust to Sorenson's system and scheme. Ryans' defense took a bit to get adjusted, the defense was 'okay' up until about week 8-9 when they really unlocked. The defense will eventually get going. I'm not worried about it. Special teams is a bigger issue, if you ask me.
I think the bigger issue with the defense is one we need greenlaw back and healthy, he cover so much ground in the passing and running game. Also lynch needs to make a move for the d line. Nick looks good but just needs to finish but we can’t rely on Hargrave who’s getting paid a lot and the other edges.
I like your optimism but I was Levi’s south yesterday and Rams figured out the defense. Every team going forward just needs to have fast WR’s and a QB with a deep arm and they have the 49ers number.
It's only week 3, but thanks to this we've seen who Brock really is. He is the real deal period. Even in the game against the Vikings, Brock could identify how incredible Flores' scheme was during the game... And in the end it was seen that Brock was dominating, unfortunately the defense did not do its job in the fourth quarter. But when you look at Stroud and how much he struggled against Flores' scheme... It makes you doubt that maybe Brock is actually that good... Brock has been amazing the last two weeks, and all with BA and JJ as receivers. I don't know, but Brock is getting better now that he's losing some offensive weapons. I hope Brock can keep it up, because the guy might be that good. He doesn't look like Mahomes or Allen, but he is a top 10 QB for sure and maybe top 5, in his own way with his height there is no one similar. Tua doesn't have the ability to extend plays like Brock and under pressure Tua is bad. Jalen is light years behind Brock when it comes to field vision and reading defenses. Caleb is a rookie but he has looked very bad. Brock is a 6'1 QB and has special vision as if he were 6'4 he sees the entire field. It's certainly been nice to see Brock without all of his offensive weapons, and he hasn't disappointed, and it looks like he's only going to get better. We'll see.
22 of 30, 6 of those were drops. 3tds, 41yds rushing with some key scrambles and first downs. 49ers Offensive $$ missing from game - $15m TE (kittle), $20m RB (mccaffrey), $30m receiver (BA - MIA), $24m (deebo) for a grand total of $89m light on the offensive side. 49ers almost got the win with $1m (purdy) and $8m receiver (jennings) and $1m RB (mason). If I'm certain agents I'm starting to heat up that phone. If I'm management I'm starting to wonder how certain trades might bolster the defense and offensive lines even if Purdy is going to sign for $60m next year.
Your not bolstering the offensive line through trades. Its not happening. Teams don't trade good offensive line unless you have that rare situation like with Trent Williams. Niners should have been drafting them. They have neglected it for years. Thank God for puni cuz without him this group is really bad
Let’s say Purdy didn’t see BA, I think really, he didn’t trust him and went to JJ out of trust. BA needs to step up and the defense needs something to turn around. They have the guys. I am actually glad this is happening now and not late in the season. Purdy is playing so good. Even with two loses, he is leading the league or in the top 3 in every QB stat. I always will confident when he is in the pocket.
That is a great take!! I didn’t even think of that!! Ayiuk was sooo open and it’s not like him (Purdy) to do something like that! Now I’m like 🤯 he doesn’t trust Anyone but JJ, Deebo, CMC and Kittle.
Fire these guys in this order: Bell Sorenson Special Teams Coach Brendel Mckivitz Campbell Lastly, sit Kyle down and humble him... he needs it bad. Pride before the fall. That's the reason he always falls short
Gotta have all the stars before nuclear meltdown y’all the seasons young and were banged up. Gotta love Purdy and Jennings, they have a special connection ❤
Yeah you could point thise things out or you could point out his qbr was 137.1 his completion rate was 70%+ No picks ❤ he and JJ balled the heck out!!!❤
There are 2 types of reserve players. There’s those who are prepared and will seize the moment when their number is called like a Brock Purdy, Juan Jennings, or Jordan Mason and their are those who aren’t prepared and the moment seizes them like Ronnie Bell. Ronnie Bell was gifted the opportunity to do what Tutu Atwell did for the Rams and be the hero with a perfectly placed deep ball and he dropped it. He had at least 1 and maybe 2 other drops as well. As far as I’m concerned Ronnie Bell’s career in San Francisco is over. I don’t know ho Shanahan or Brock Purdy will ever be able to trust him again, and you can’t have a receiver your QB doesn’t trust. It’s like having Ben Simmons spotting up for 3, it doesn’t matter how open he is, nobody’s passing him the ball. Maybe he can go somewhere else and reboot, but he’s dead weight in San Francisco.
Purdy can be Brady 2.0. His intangibles and what happens between the ears is there. Brady was not Payton but still had success. I watched the game and he carried them with JJ. I wished he could trust BA more with that available deep throw.
Brock, Jennings, Mason, and Fred Warner balled out, the rest of the team just did nothing to help them win. The special teams coach needs to be fired, the defensive coordinator sucks something awful, and Ronnie Bell should not have been let onto the plane after the game.
Great breakdown, Guy. Has Purdy past the litmus test of carrying the team on his back? Maybe not quite today, but pretty damn close. I hope that shuts up a lot of the boo birds.
I love brock and I think he's the guy, but how good is the rams defense? I thought they were ranked last in yards given up, I could be wrong though. I still think he checked the box on being able to carry the team without his top weapons .
Let's be fair here - Bad Rams defense does not diminish the fact that Purdy played VERY well. After all, no one was saying Stafford played so well because Niners defense didn't show up.
The crucial errors puts some unnecessary/extra blame on the defense. Our lack of speed in the secondary and no Greenlaw will prob lead to our safeties playing deeper which opens up Intermediate routes, our secondary is small and slow.
At the moment Purdy doesn't trust Aiyuk and we can't blame him, I mean there was that throw where I Jennings made a catch over the top of the DB and there was another one he threw to Jennings in triple coverage which just shows he trusts. Jennings to makes almost impossible catches than he trusts Aiyuk to make open catches or Aiyuk in single coverage at the moment simply because he seems sloppy at the moment and until he gets that rhythm back he'll keep Aiyuk as his last option
Umm he called the play that bell dropped the ball on. Kyle was not the issue. If you watched the game we all know the opportunities we could’ve put them to bed but “missed” catches and fg is what I would say. Defense is another story.
Purdy doesn’t need all these weapons! He is our present, and future, case closed. We just need players to play through pain. If they are injured, then yes sit out like CMC. But if you got a boo-boo, and it hurts, get your ass out there and tough it up sally. Sick of these high paid players sitting out because they can’t play through pain.
I just don’t get why all these players that are so talented are never put in the field by Kyle unless forced by injuries.Kyle has stuck with underperforming players over and over it’s driving me nuts..We all saw Bell dropping balls all pre season and last year ,everyone was suprised he made the 53!Where the hell was Cowing?
Oh he saw Aiyuk, he just doesn’t trust him to catch the ball. Aiyuk leads the league in drops rn. Also they had 6 drops yesterday. 3 by Aiyuk. Purdy would have been 28-30 without all the drops.
Snead was right, there isnt a fair chance at playing time with KS. He doesn't care what's best for the team, he wants his guys to be on the team. Kyle also repeatedly shows he has no idea of the importance of clock management or the ability to adapt and be dynamic innolay calling during the game. He's an awful head coach, an above average OC at best.
Purdy is current ranked #4 in the NFL right now QBR 86 RTG 137 this game. Purdy gave them multiple opportunities to win this game. CUT RONNIE BELL he is not NFL caliper receiver. Aiyuk should give the niners back there money dude is on fraud alert! Special teams coach should go bye bye, Defense is in shambles.
I have no confidence in this coaching staff. Offence is subpar, and defence and special teams are a dumpster fire. Staley needs to call defensive plays, not Sorenson. Kyle shanahan belongs on the hot seat. Special teams coach can be fired yesterday. This was supposed to be the best team of the Shanahan era. Instead, we have this mess. Ronnie Bell has probably played his last game as a 49er. De'Vondre Campbell, sadly, has not. Isaac Yiadom has dropped off badly from his time in N.O. And Aiyuk deserves a loud booing next week when he comes out the tunnel. To hold out for $120M and show up out of shape is inexcuseable. Shanahan has a long history of losing games he should have won. That's why he may never win a Super Bowl.
With this game Brock joins 2 other Inner QBs as losers of games where they completed over 70% of their passes and 3 passing TDs the other guys Joe and Steve
Why is Ronnie Bell on this roster? Every time I've seen him besides that one TD against the Giants last year, he drops passes, bobbles or fumbles the ball and is consistently more bad than good. He was something in Michigan but he has been reliably unreliable to say the least even in preseason this year. Smh, tf freakin frack, (yosemite sam fussa russin mumbling angry sounds). Our run D is also questionable atm. Not a good feeling rn but it's a long season. We'll see how we respond moving forward.
So it really sucks. If BA woulda got 20 More yards and mason got a touchdown I woulda won freaking $1920….seriously. I bet a parlay of Brock getting at least 25 rushing throws for 250. He did both. I had mason rushing for 1 td 70+ yards he had 77. Had JJ for 75+ he had freaking 179! Then the part I lost on was having BA with freaking 40 yards…he couldn’t even get 40 yards ! Also the mason not scoring. Other than that I hit on everything. I knew i should have taken ba off and chose Brock to throw 2 tds or jenning to have a td. Oh well maybe next time. Sorry for the long comment. I really thought I was about to cash in. Only spend $20 lol
Iono Purdy played good for 3 qtrs…..And we lost🤷🏽♂️…he needs to be legendary….we need greatness from him…..bay area is land of the legendary, i mean look at steph, young, montana, clark, mays….purdy needs to be clutch when we need him the most….alsonwe need better wr plays but all that stuff can be true at the same time….loosing is not an option especially loosing like that!
@@Smileyred530 they still lost🤷🏽♂️ i dont care if he had 500 yrds….its still an L…..jus like the super bowl, we were up all game long but he couldnt get the dub…..can u say the same with steph, montana, tim Lincecum or any championship greats in the past…..im jus saying the bay ain’t the place for loosers….we need winners!!!
Yes, but to be great and win when your D and special teams are an anchor, you gotta protect the football and you HAVE to hit the wide open receiver when it counts even if he dropped other passes to him. Just the difference btw great and great stats.
The big picture debate is still BP can’t win without the avengers! Just watch the narrative on Monday! He’s the Trust Fund Kid that’s can’t make his team better.
Niners season is toast. Lets be honest. McCaffrey wont return. Huge contracts to Samuel, McCaffrey, Samuel, Aiyuk, Williams, Kettle, Bosa, Warner. Our window has closed. Need to keep JJ and Purdy and go from there. rest can go.
Purdy is a good QB. He's just not a franchise-caliber, elite talent. If you don't have an elite talent at QB, then you need all-world guys at every other position. And it's impossible to maintain that on your roster year in and year out.
@@hi808surfdudenew5 If they paid him like a franchise QB, he would take up the salaries of a few elite-level players who are currently on the roster that the 49ers would no longer be able to afford were they to pay Purdy that kind of money. And he is simply not talented enough to elevate a roster despite losing that defensive talent. So, in that regard, he would be a liability against his own defense. Watch when they play better teams than the Rams this year. He'll certainly be the hobbit he is, running around, making a few impressive throws, but not being able to do the extra Josh Allen, Pat Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, kinds of things that he is physically incapable of doing, but are required when a roster is depleted. And he'll lose, even with a solid stat line.
