#1 reason to keep a Rite in the Rain pad for Outdoor / Survival Gear load out, the Paper is an AWESOME fire starter since it has a waxed coating! Great Video!
I think most people probably aren't actually writing in the rain. But more so if you spill so.ething on it or your hands are dirty/wet it won't wreck the pages. For the zippo I would recommend trying a butane or yellow flame insert. They both use butane and don't evaporate like the normal zippo.
With the Zippo. That's the black crackle finish. For fuel retention, try the butane insert Zippo sells. It doesn't have the windproof nature of the classic insert, but it doesn't dry out.
Great stuff. I like BROG products. I placed an order for their Gadget Kit Bag. It's just great for my needs, and the fact that it opens flat. I plan to use it as a sling/back for my EDC. Of course, mods are needed to do so. I tend to add Velcro to items directly to deal with organization issues, as well as a Condor elastic holder. It all stays in place without spilling out, with the exception of my hank.
Nice! I’ve been eyeing that one as well, let me know how it works out. And that Condor Elastic keeper looks like it would work well in this one too, may grab one to try it out. Thanks!!
It’s a sweet pouch. I ran into one of the guys from BROG at Blade Show, they didn’t have a booth but he stopped me because I had on their bum bag. Seems like a great team behind their products. And that patch fit perfectly! 👊🏼👊🏼
Great pouch. I was looking for something to carry all my knives around.I didn’t want a knife roll and after searching Amazon i settled on th Ankhoh pocket knife display. It holds 24 knives. $21. you can’t go wrong. Thanks Jake.
That newer insert look great! I'll need to get some for my bum bag. To your point about duct tape and lighter - check out Exotac. Their lighters are expensive, but they don't leak fuel at all. And the RipSpool - folks talk it up all the time because it's got about 4 feet of standard Gorilla Tape, some thread, and a repair needle. I've been getting by just fine with the small 1in roll of Gorilla Tape. Other things you may want in there is a CountyComm EDC measuring tape and maybe a hank of Paracord for tie downs or a makeshift plumb bob Looks like a really fun pouch! My only beef beyond the needing to buy org is that the inners are all black. The bum bag has color contrast which is nice imo.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I’ve been meaning to check out that Exotac lighter for awhile. Definitely plan to add some paracord and the CountyComm measuring tape is a great idea that takes up almost no room. I agree re: the color contrast, wouldn’t have minded seeing a lighter or orange Velcro panel for the added visibility. Thanks for checking it out!
Yeah, definitely wouldn’t mind seeing more similar types of pouches. Plus the more companies making different organizer for them would make them even more versatile. Thanks for checking it out!
I prefer the Data Crew What A Slider slightly but depends on how you want to carry it. The Data Crew won’t fit in your pocket as it’s thicker but is great for bags or car center consoles. It does fit thicker items and keeps your key from rubbing on top of each other. The GBG fits in your back pocket (or cargo pockets), it’s also a little taller so if you have larger items it may be the better option.
Hey! Appreciate the feedback. I definitely see it as more of a review channel but can definitely mix in more pocket/pouch dumps. I pretty much always load out the pouches for reviews though so they kind of double as pouch dumps but can do some standalone ones to. Thanks for checking it out!
Nah it only took a second, I just talked for 9 minutes first 😂 But more seriously, sorry about that, I can be a little long winded sometimes but appreciate the time stamp for those that want to skip ahead.
