Doctors in USA do do get a high salary but half of it goes into tax! Not to forget housing rent over there is insane! And doctor even if they get high pay as compared to India, living expenses are high there! Doctors earning 1million+ are entrepreneurs and not the ones who are full time doctors

The normal practicing doctor, who has completed his or her med school and is in between a residency program they make around 200k to 350k a year. And these are the majority of doctors like normal surgeon or routine check doctor. And the ones with a speciality in doctory like anesthesiologist, cardiovascular surgeon, biomedical engineer, prosthetic transplanters, spine surgeon like those typicall big doctors who are specialist in a particular medical field, they are the ones who make around 600k to 800k a year. And they are normal in America. Like the ones in India, those big doctors who do the big surgery, open heart surgery, and check the patients rarely and need a appointment to meet em, they also make around 4 to 5 lacs a month. But the thing is majority of indian doctors are paid less in India because of our gdp, or any other economic factors of our whole country.

Remember usa is really expensive a one bedroom apartment could be 1000 to 2000 a month .Plus car bills, car insurance ,health insurance, plus tax is 33 percent thats income tax , federal tax is 20 percent so half your pay goes to government in tax alone nevermind all the bills you have to pay . You will be left only banking 30 percent of you actual pay due to tax and bills and the one bedroom apartment is as poor as it gets keep that in mind. if you wanna live middle to upper class the costs are way more. And America has enough doctors really hard to get a job with a degree because everybody wants to be a doc.

The reality is India has 1.3 billion people, they have one doctor for every 10,000 people in India. Dr. Manik Madaan and others got educated in India and then leaves for the US. 400 million people live with zero health care in India, they are dying because people like Manik Madaan are selfish and leave for the US to live a life of comfort, wealth, and fame while the people of India suffer. Join the movement and boycott Doctors born in India in the name of justice for the Indian people!

Speaking from the experience of having observed family members get into Indian medical colleges and ones in the USA. The route to med school in USA is insanely difficult. To start with, medicine in USA unlike India is a post graduate program which means prospective med students there first have to get through the grind of a 4yr undergrad program before they can even apply to med school. In India all you need to do is crack NEET. Your performance in the various exams in 12th standard doesn’t matter. I personally know of Indian students who failed most of their exams up until the 12th board exams who are now in med school in India only because they did NEET decently well plus reservations. This is unthinkable in USA because your gpa in your undergrad program matters a lot. Which means every test, every quiz, every group project, every assignment adds up to your final gpa. Unlike in India, you cannot slacken just to pick up in your final exam. Apart from working super hard to score a high gpa, a premed in America must have done research, clinical and non clinical volunteering, shadowed physicians and demonstrated some leadership abilities in college. These days they also ask for some work experience in healthcare as part of your application. Believe it or not, to gain this experience, students now are taking 2 to 3 gap years before they apply. For 2020, 68% of those accepted into American med schools had taken gap years. Then ofc, comes the MCAT exam. No need to overstate that the MCAT is a tough exam. The application process is also difficult: primary apps with shit ton of essays for every school you apply to, secondary apps with shit ton of essays, LORs and ofc in person interviews before you are finally accepted. And we are just talking about getting into a medical school. USMLE comes later. Medical schools in USA are very difficult to get into. This is exactly why half of premeds drop out of the race during undergrad itself. Of course doctors in the USA deserve every cent they make.
