i dont think they knew what they were making... she is way stronger than diluc, and she is even stronger than hu tao non purely single target scenario... people are saying that there is powercreep in this game... but so far no character ever released has powercrept xiangling (that is if i ignore the speedrunning comunity)

xiangling is probably one of the most broken unintended meta, that mihoyo also free ride when they kinda like, "oh she is broken lets create a story about guoba god"

I praised Xiangling from the very beginning of the game

Xiangling had high praise during release, so was fischl actually then she dropped off and then recognition again when the og national team got discovered by cn players

I mean many 4*s are a very good or should I say a much better alternative than most 5* can do in the abyss. like chongyun, xinqui, beidou, etc. they just need to be built and have a synergy on the lineup for them to shine

On release of the game almost everyone thought that the “right way” to play the game was just upgrade a Main DPs like Diluc, Klee or Xiao and win the game. Couldn’t be more wrong, a lot of people still build only a main DPs and have no subdps or supports fully build. Its kind a sad sometimes because a huge part of the community still have the same wrong idea for the first patch and this misunderstanding stick hard on their minds even if they hear 100x times lmao 😂

I believe Sevy follows the current banner for which characters to create guides for. I remember seeing Ning, Chongyun and Yanfei back to back guides. They were the 4* on Childe’s most recent banner.

its crazy. xiangling benefits from absolutely every spear in the game. (even the physical dmg ones, at least before. people used to run xiangling with the crescent pike in the early days)

Well artifact stats matter way more than set bonuses late game so it makes sense

@@bletwort2920 Early to mid game you it isn't worth the resin to farm artifacts so you mostly work with what you have. Just leveling a three star feather to 12 will pretty much double the attack on an AR20 character. In those cases the set bonus can be worth prioritizing. Weapon level and talents are the priority till AR45. Ideally you will have a stock pile of talent books, mora and exp books ready by AR45 so you can then switch the focus to artifacts. Yes stats still matter early to mid game but most of your scaling at that point is coming from your weapon and talents.

@@bletwort2920 I'm not saying throw a def sands on your Hu Tao or something. You get more than enough artifacts from bosses and chests to carry you through to AR45. The only set you could make an arguement for farming early is a 4* set of VV for an anemo character. I don't think you understand how fast it is to get to AR45. It isn't like the launch of the game. There are so many more quests, chests, and way to get AR exp now that you can speedrun it in less than a week and casually reach it in under a month. You also aren't going to need artifacts for 2 full teams till then anyway. Just a decent set for your dps, half decent for sub-dps. A lot of characters can get by just fine with minimal artifacts till then. Also it needs to be said that outside of abyss this is a very easy game designed for a casual mobile audience.

@@bletwort2920 If you really want to speedrun it, with the interactive map you can hit AR35 in about 20-25 hours of gameplay. AR45 is going to take longer but a month isn't that long. Things aren't like they were at launch where you had to rely on dailies and resin to grind up early game AR. There are close to twice the non-timegated ways to get AR exp. Regardless. You don't need artifact sets from domains before you are able to grind 5*s. You can get Berserkers, Exile and Instructors from every boss in the game, chests, and rarely from elite overworld enemies. 2pc Berserkers/ 2pc either of the other two works well enough for dps and subdps characters. 2pc Exile/ 2pc Instructors or 4pc of either is fine for supports. ER is more of a concern than crit early game since hitting a reasonable crit ratio is very hard with 4* artifacts. At least for any burst dependent character (which is more than half the roster). If you really want to farm artifacts early. The earliest that makes any sense is AR40 since you at least have a chance at 5*s then. Even at AR40 though it is kind of a waste of resin. Even at AR45 you should probably live in the emblem/shiminawa domain for a month or two as it is by far the most resin efficient domain (both sets are good if not BiS for most of the roster).

Agreed. I hit AR45 in less than a month. And i never cared about artifacts until then either. All my teams had random level 1-8 artifacts but I did fine. Talents and weapons were the focus mostly then. Agreed fights would take longer but it was very doable
