Maybe there are better hints, but i would guess a broken tooth, so dissassemble, check and clean the laser tray.

For this older gear, you can often find repair manuals on the internet, that would help you find the problem.

@@rickydeldo8596 it ended up being a fuse on the power supply. And I had a diode catch fire on it. It worked for a second lol after fuse replacement
