We've got half the shop who would say yes, and half that still love the clear! Really, it depends on your style of off roading, conditions and personal preference. But we are seeing more and more amber ditch lights!
I’m surprised by the exposed connections on the back. Seems like a place that corrosion might occur. Waterproof butt connectors might be preferable to just wrapping the wires with tape. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-unxEdyW8RP8.html
Interesting that Ford made that change! We will see if we can get one in here and take a look. My guess is that it may just need to be done similar to how it is done on other vehicles, either by creating a small notch by trimming, or possibly finding an edge that has some give and running it there. Thanks for the comment!
Just an FYI for anyone looking to buy this kit, it does *NOT* include the wiring kit stated in the video. You will be caught off guard like I was when I purchased and couldn't install because I was missing the wiring extension to connect to the passengers side.
Hey Chris, looks like the last comment may have disappeared. It should have come with the harness. I am looking into it now. If you can, please contact us either via phone or email (support@hereticstudio.com) and we can look to get you the items that were missing asap!
And stop calling it a military splice! What you are referring to is a field splice used on communication wire only and only for temporary emergency repairs. All splices would be done properly as soon as possible.
Thanks for the video. Very useful. My lights will be here Thursday. I got the regular bright white lights. What are these amber lights for? I've never seen them before or used like this.
