The Brook trout fishing in this stream was slow but overall the experience was scenic. The colors on native U.P. Brook trout are unbeatable. The tannic acid makes them darker than brookies caught anywhere else. Some are almost black, which makes their purple halos stand out. Preserving native Brook trout populations is paramount for continued success of their genetic strain.
