This was good HOWEVER i don't think ANYONE could top Calum Scott singing this in his audition! I still listen to it often and i STILL get chills every single time even all these years later!!
I'm assuming that since Calum Scott was Simon's golden buzzer, her performance didn't come close and that's why he didn't like it. On a special where Simon talks all about his favorite golden buzzers, Calum was his most favorite audition ever, besides Susan Boyle.
To all of you saying this wasn’t good…those high notes and the clarity of them..the emotion she showed. After tuning, countless singers in the industry can’t be at this level. This is absolutely phenomenal. The pitch she maintains as she switches registers…her talent and tone is unbelievable.
@@UnrulyLK except it is talent. Those who aren’t singers could never understand. Emotion in a voice is harder and genuinely rarer than technical flourishing. This is why this was so impressive.
The highlights for me were: 1:48 onward and then 2:04 onward for the high notes. The delicate ending at 2:22 was also fabulous. Her vocal range is on par with Whitney Houston.
I think it was spectacular, I love when the song develops and you don't show all your abilities right away, I will definitely return to this performance for another 100000000 times when I will feel like im dancing on my own💔
Sung perfectly from beginning to end. Love the build up of the story. I had tears in my eyes because of how you connected with the words of the song. You might not have gone through but I think you definitely will be a star. Great choice showing your vulnerable side.
I absolutely love the Robyn version of this song. It’s a sad song wrapped in an upbeat package. Brooke nailed the feelings of sadness and denial with her vocals in the first part before soaring in the end. It’s a very different take than Robyn but it hits the same lows and highs and I was absolutely blown away.
Oh my word, this was amazing and powerful! I don't know why Howie wasn't impressed, to me this was incredible and Brooke is so beautiful and talented. GO Brooke!
It was flat in the beginning... then got somewhat better.. and those weren't high notes they were power notes... wasn't horrible and it wasn't great... B-
The performance was very good. I do understand what the guys were saying, but she recovered and finished super strongly. She is a spectacular singer with a spectacular voice!
The problem with Howie and Simon is that they always want to put the contestants in a box and they don't give them the freedom to be authentic. The people vote, so in the end that's what counts. And let's not forget Simon's big mistake with Jennifer Hudson.
Howie is telling the truth. Stop dramatizing everything to your liking, and start being sharp towards the quality of the contestants and if they have Pitch Control issues that made her or anybody singing not good, then you need to admit it and not cover it by saying it was great.
Honestly the first audition was not memorable for me but this just gave her a shot to win. an amazing cover of an amazing song. pls vote for her and bikos manna
