Former BBC Top Gear, Wheeler Dealer, The Garage and Car SOS TV Director Jamie Langton travels the world checking out places to visit and things to do. It's been 50 years since Ford Europe launched their answer to Ford America's Mustang, the Capri. Over the years the Capri has gained cult classic car status, but despite earning a 'boy racer' image back in the 1970's and 80's mint examples can fetch a premium. But it's the popular limited edition Capri 280 that went under the hammer for over £50,000 a few years back. To celebrate 50 years of the Capri, this special event was organised by the Surrey Capri Club and featured dozens of Capris.

These a great Capri's. They all are meanwhile. I transplanted in '95 a 24V in my Capri. And it is still running fine. With a low milage. Never imagined that it would be this big star in the modern times. Can you imagine what responds i get when i give it a go?

Also aren't you the guy that did a Capri documentary called Capri the legend years ago? As I remember your name now as you were involved with top gear. I saw a small clip of that documentary years ago on RU-vid, the bit on the 280 Brooklands funny enough but I've never seen the whole thing.

Hi Daniel - I do apologise I never saw this comment last year. Yes I am the same person and as luck would have it this week sees the launch of the Legend Series on You Tube, including Capri the Legend, which will be shown on this channel (Bitesize TV). It premieres on Sunday evening along with the others. I hope you enjoy it. Jamie

Expat in the USA. In Texas, I want a Capri again. Mk II Daytona yellow 1.6L with a black vinyl top , ex factory was my last - an S reg. I modified it a bit ! My teenage till 24 years. I want another before I die. Make one, to the car it should have been. Just wishing ..Money, well we can talk... Current comment and interested, send me to sites or sellers please !

@@bitesizetv6146 Many cars buddy over 62 years around the world but my UK Capri MkII is my love and I want another ! Once Capri always Capri . In the USA Mercury Capris Mk I but I want a Mk II , the dogs bollox !!, Will but and import to show Americans its beauty !
