Brother Ali has always been one of my biggest inspirations as a HipHop artist, I've been writing for 4 years but decided to start making music a few weeks ago, partially thanks to the inspiration Ali provided with his latest album. MAN - he's seriously the greatest, and I hope he realizes that.

I think the question could be answered by simply listening to other in studio "interviews" more like Ali just talking about the fabric of the albums or just listen to the album in it's entirety really, he literally puts the album process, the pain and pleasure in verses.

Fast forward a few years, and I'm watching a Doc, on Jimmy Carter, called "Man From Plains". I hear this song, and I'm like WHAT IS THAT. Of course through the majic of the internet, I found out it was Forest Whitaker by Ali. I was so happy to rediscover Rhymsayer music. This Jersey Ginger loves Minnesota Hip-Hop!

Without the workforce the elite class has nothing. The workforce is what helps that dude on top buy that little jet they own and that big house they live in. The real problem is most people don't realize their true power of production.

I live a few hours away from the twin cities, and a lot of the black dudes i hang out with are blown away by the 'underground' shit i listen to that comes from there. Especially the Brother. Brother Ali is speaking that TRUTH !

He did it with Occupy Homes, MN. He did it to stand up against the bank foreclosures. When he first went to Occupy Homes he wanted to get involved and he said he didn't want publicity for any of it but he ended up being such an icon for it to help expand the movement. He created this video to help raise awareness of corrupt home foreclosures by banks that screwed the families over. He really does care about this issue, its not a publicity stunt.

my god..brother ali is the realist of the real. nobody is above him in passion and heart. this song is going back to how songs were when hip hop started. he is straight telling the TRUTH about the streets of where he lives in and his neighborhood. not the dramatized 'gangster' streets that is in every hood now a days. this song is a song for the people no doubt. it's awesome how he chooses to use his voice to stand up for ones who can't be heard themselves.
