Logic is Another example When critics/haters/fans tear down a artist. To me he is a good MC.

He is just an example of someone whose sensitivity was a gift and a curse. He is way more in tune with the human struggle than most rap artists today. (Hip hop, in general, used to be that way). And he is as empathetic to humanity as it gets. He is emotional. He is affected by criticism. He does take things to heart. He is everything that most of us are as human beings. He is just open about all of these things in a genre that doesn't value or respect them. Most artists who have shown their sensitive side have had to temper it with a harder side to stay relevant. Logic is just a talented artist in a genre that has no respect for what he stands for. That part is not his fault.

Logic has nothing to prove. Happy that the man is being true to himself and making time for his family. I wouldn’t wanna get back in the spotlight if I was being treated this way either. He’s gotten a lot of people through tough times, and to me, he’ll always be one of the greats

everything in music/hip hop is subjective. Logic majority of his career has done nothing but stay true to who he is and that’s one of the best forms of measure with art. Transparency. I get a dislike for the music, but the man should be respected.

He definitely proved himself in his latest album, I still have his newest albums songs in my rotation, definitely redeemed himself and no longer cares what the critics think

Logic did it right. He burst onto the scene, released some absolute bangers for years, as well as some "pop songs" to make it big, then when it started to slow down he retired a rich, but not jaded, man. Props.

I find it lame how someone you look up to so much growing up turns out to be so hated. I love logic and what he's done. His progress through the music industry and downfalls are all part of the game no one gets a perfect road but the outcome has been great. He is mentally healthier than ever. Most importantly he's a happy husband and father who's just living life now.

Logic on the Impulsive podcast mentioned he wrote his 1-800 verse for The Chainsmokers but they didn’t think it fit so he made it into his own song

No pressure, the incredible true story, and under pressure are 3 of my favourite albums. They're really good. I also love his 3 young sinatra mixtapes, they're all classic pieces.

Logic is very talented. Was listening to some of his tracks again on Apple Music to and from work, and to say he is horrible is ridiculous. This kid has bars. I like his flow. He is a legitimately talented and good rapper, with some really good tracks. The hip hop industry just values being hood, from the streets, fucking bitches, getting money, etc too much.

Coming back to this video is crazy cause he’s revitalized his career now that he’s dropping projects an an independent artists. He’s finally making the art that makes him and he enjoys creating.

I know the video is about logic, but man sum about joe budden having opinions on other artists when he himself was a wack ass artist really gets under my skin. Dude gives opinions on music as if he was a top charting influential figure in hip hop when in reality nobody even knew who he was until his show on complex with akademics and further with the joe budden podcast. as someone who's been listening to logic for around a year and a bit, his biggest problem is that he's inconsistent. i never understood the pure hatred some people have for him because the dude's got some great albums; under pressure, the incredible true story, no pressure and more recently, vinyl days. he does definitely have some misses for sure like everybody which was just ok and confessions of a dangerous mind which was underwhelming but i think he's still one of the better artists we have

they slept on logic….just appreciate his music. Some people are good even great. But being accepted that is the real challenge.

Logic's newest album definitely was a good return and a good record it's sad to see it do so poorly commercially. Due to the fact that hip-hop is all about street rap and most of anything on that wave is what is surfing right now, it's hard to try and promote a boom bap style. In the future though, if Logic plays his cards right, he can gain a bit more respect if he can appeal more to the OG's while also being true to his style and not doing whatever is mainstream.

Logics biggest issue was inconsistency and dropping way too much from 2017-2019, but anyone who’s listened to his projects know how much raw talent he has, it’s a shame he cared so much about what other people think. But vinyl days is a contender for AOTY and he’s a great rapper

He’s honestly underrated lyrically. His outside drama is his business. His music is nice though. Definitely on my work playlist and chilling playlist

His fans will always be there for him. He stopped acknowledging the hate. The positivity speaks louder. Always will. Negativity is just loud bc it's the easiest thing to do. It's easy to hate. It's hard to push against the grain.

Really I find it weird how Joe simultaneously acknowledges logic success, but doesn’t think that that can be attributed to any sort of talent. What I think a lot of people still fail to realize is, maybe you just don’t like the artist? Because if they’re successful, it can’t mean that they have no talent at all.

The retirement really slowed him down. But damn this opened my eyes to how fickle people can be in hip-hop and rap game can be. The fact that it's the rappers themselves talking shit, really sucks. I'm used to shit fans in the metal scene, metal elitists for the most part. But the artists in metal don't mind other bands 'ripping' on them. Everyone has something to bring to the table.

While Logic does have some issues when it comes to his music, like referencing the Biracial memes too much or his album concepts not being fully utilised in the albums himself, you could always root for him since he comes of as a huge fan of hip hop.

The popularity is what killed logic. He has said it many times when he was writing songs he felt people couldn’t relate. It’s even in no pressure. What made logic amazing was the zero commercial appeal. I think him “retiring” wasn’t him retiring from rap. But I think as of “rap industry in the media” and showing he can still rap to the top of his game. Now that he has gone back to being an independent rapper. We have had phenomenal tracks ever since. BT3 was unfortunately a contract during DEF jams run and he has said that Bobby Tarantino three is a big joke multiple times and he just came out with something to satisfy the contract.

Logic's recent album is the best album he has ever released. I think the issue here is that Logic is honestly too positive for Hip-Hop, Logic is the nice guy that would hold the door open for the girl he likes while all the other guys including the guy the girl likes find that corny af. I personally respect Logic as an artist because he actually talented than most and brings a much needed positive vibe to Hip-Hop. 💯

Idk man I’m not the biggest logic fan but I thought he came back hard with vinyl days & the crazy thing is this video was posted after it. Vinyl days had some pretty decent verses. I go back to it more than other recent albums.

Logic is my favourite rapper, and I will say that it is just a fact that his worst shit is still better than a lot of current rappers that don't get criticism for stealing/copying other people's stuff. Logic was heavily inspired by so many people, and while overused, I see no issue when he pays homage to other rappers and it wholesome and genuine about it. Rappers these days come up offering nothing of value and are loved and praised, but Logic who's nicer and makes better, more impactful music, isn't held to the same standards. He was heavily inspired by Kendrick and J. Cole, but not once listening to their stuff to I think "Ah yes, Logic took this" I just don't hear it. He references a lot of stuff. The Thalia thing definitely was an idea he was inspired by from Tribe. The Joyner thing is hilarious, because he even admitted that he was just envious of the dude and wanted to pick a fight, then got upset because Logic didn't respond by saying his name. He's been accused by so many of cheating on his first wife without there being any proof at all besides "timing". COADM was a social experiment, and always was one, he said it before it released, but of course only the fans who dig deep will know this, but so many people spread BS. But you really can tell the people who are fans from the people who don't take 5 minutes to look in to him and his shit, his whole Incredible True Story idea is super creative and unique, and a better fictional story than any other rapper has made, and his real life story of him growing up is told pretty well, not on the level of Kendrick through deep meaningful music, but Logic told it through good songs you can vibe through. People saying he's anything other than a genuine, good dude, who is inspired by his peers, loves hip-hop and his fans are just mad for the sake of being mad. The dude has his issues, there's gripes in there, but people always look for the wrong shit, or shit that seems like it's an issue but actually does have it's reasons. I'd be mad too if I thought the dude did bad shit, but he really doesn't.

These videos are so good it really shines a light on just how petty and childish this genre of music is. Shit talking, name dropping, murders, anything to get a one up on someone

Logic may be inconsistent with his music, but the hip-hop fan base is too. Flocking over to whatever like ducks and a bit of bread, no matter if its dry or soggy.

To me he represents a person like myself. I loved his second album, being fresh by not being "hard" but just true to himself. I'm also a "nerd" and love to hear some of my interests represented in hiphop. Keep on doing you man F the haters just make music for yourself

Def Jam controlled and tried to milk Logic in the music industry. That's the reason why he left and went on to do more amazing things.

It's really sad to see the mainstream shit on logic so heavily. He's a good dude that makes (mostly) good music. His horrible run from 2017-2019 tarnished all his cred as a rapper and he became the face of the corny rapper hate movement. If homie doesn't release Everybody and Confessions, I think he would still be a widely respected rapper today.

Logic might just be the most inconsistent rapper. He's actually a great rapper and has some very great highs in his discography (Under Pressure, Welcome to Forever, Undeniable, No Pressure, Vinyl Days) but also some average / very terrible lows (Bobby Tarantino, BT3, Everybody, COADM). His new album is great, though.

Just to address the Freddy Gibbs “white boy” quote. Why is logic constantly having to defend being biracial, yet J.Cole and Drake are never called out. It isn’t his fault he looks white, it’s the card his genetics dealt him.

Logic made his best ever music from 2010 to 2016, if you weren’t around back then or never went back and listened, then you’ll never like him or understand the appeal. His younger days in the game were his best but at a certain point interviews became the highlight and downfall of his career. He was too transparent and open about his life in his interviews and then once people like joe budden and charlamane got ahold of his name on podcasts, the criticism must’ve got to his head because the music took a downfall as well. Coming from a proud logic fan.

JUST THE FACT THAT THIS VIDEO GOT 400k plus videos just by using his name and photo. People tend to forget this guy worked 10 plus years straight dropping project after project and never stopped. He literally overworked himself. I will admit he did reuse some of his old bars to the point I even stopped. But his production style and beats is honestly one of a kind. He might have been knocked down but I can promise he won’t stay down. He loves creating music more than anything.

Tbh, Logic just drops music when he feels like it. Not to mention he's one of the only rappers in the game who's really trying to spread a positive, heart-felt message, but most people in this genre think that shit's too damn mushy. For my money, while his career may have tapered off a little bit, Logic will forever be the G.O.A.T.

the main issue with logic is that he falls into that cringy fast rapper category, and his fans garner the stereotype of nerdy kids who hate rap because it's "meaningless" or "a bad influence" but listen to logic because he's "one of the good ones"

I think he's doing fine. One of my favorite things is when an artist reflects their life in their art. Like how eminems discography mirrors what he was going through as a person, and an artist. I think logic has been solidified

5AM is one of my favorite rap songs of all time. I have lots of respect for Logic. He’s made a lot of great music back when I was in high school and even after college. Hope he’s happier now with his wife and baby!

I started listening to logic again becuase of my cousin who passed away recently and we would listen to under pressure alot, would see who could rap gang related faster( i won) But those memories will never be tainted by the new art he creates. Kinda like kanye's first couple of albums bring me back to riding in my moms Aztec pontiac going through the mountains. Its sad to see artists fall a bit, and as an artist its scary to think that the path can be easily set after years of dedication to your craft. Regardless i think music is about the moments and energy it leaves with you dispite even the creator at times.

people fucking nit pick artists to the extreme. If you look hard enough you’d see every artist in history copying each other. Music is contagious, it gets in our subconscious. Shit just comes out organically. The majority of people don’t scalp other artists, it just comes naturally based of a fucking millennia of people making music. Joe Budden is really an authority on being a bad rapper. He's one of the worst ever, easily. I don't even like Logic but seeing him saying that to Logic's face is absurd.

Logic is EASILY a top 10 hip-hop artist of his generation. He’s just a genuine guy who had the gift and the hard work to become a commercially successful rapper, all while staying true to himself. I love his relatability, and the fact his personality truly shines through his music. I feel like you truly get to know HIM, the guy behind the brand, allowing his fanbase to make a true connection with the art and the artist. I do see the inconsistency, as the tail-end of his projects with def-jam, excluding No Pressure, were sub-par. Being a fan of the guy for nearly a decade has me excited to see where he takes his career next, though I doubt he’ll ever be mainstream again. But being independent for College Park has me hopeful that we can expect a sound similar to that of his mixtapes, just more refined. Sorry for the long ass ramble, but damn man it just sucks to see how negative the general perception of Logic is.

To be so worried about legacy that you ignore your creative drive, and your will to do everything you possibly can in this one life we have to live is foolish, in more ways than one. When we try to evaluate the careers of great artists who have passed away, or have otherwise effectively retired, the bad always ends up disproportionately outweighing the good, solely within the context of their artistic expression, even before we inevitably start thinking about who they were/are as people. Because I don't want to type an essay here, hopefully it's enough to prove my point to just rhetorically ask, "Who here uses some publication's top 10 list as a big deciding factor in the art they choose to experience?" I believe Logic's lack of authenticity comes about because he is worried about how receptive people will be to someone who looks and acts as he does (no shit Sherlock, I know). It does not come from trying to take a shortcut towards having actual substance and meaningful perspectives. In other words, he's worried about people listening to him, not that he doesn't have anything to say. The two aren't mutually exclusive, and I'm sure there are some exceptions to this in Logic's case (because he is a person, after all), but in my mind this makes most of his transgression/mistakes/dishonesty all the more forgivable. Logic can come and go as many times as he pleases, in however many ways that he can. It will spark an interest in me every time that he comes back.

Why does logic get so much hate?

Huh, I never really thought about Logic in this way, especially recently. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest Logic fan, but having those last two albums come out that I genuinely think we're pretty good honestly made me interested in hearing more stuff from Bobby. While I was also surprised that he came back so soon after retirement, I didn't realize it did so much damage to his reputation.

Logic has an incredibly strong mind to have manifested the negative reaction he got from the world. I don’t think it’s possible to fathom how much he was terrified of not being liked.

having been a Logic fan since Welcome to Forever I can say I'm happy where Logic is at right now. Needless to say it's not his best but he's come a long way from the train wreck that was Everybody and the extremely lazy Bobby Tarantino III. I think he's content with where he's at and so am I. No longer chasing the spotlight or make the next "banger", he's already proved himself. From the mixtapes to the classic "Under Pressure".
