Brother Canvas Workspace Tutorial - Fit to Path - Easter Egg - How to Curve Text - Brother ScanNCut

In this Canvas Workspace for the PC tutorial, you will learn how to create curved text onto an egg. You can draw the text and cut out the egg using your Brother ScanNCut. I share how to fit text to a path, how to change the font style and how to increase the spacing of your characters. I used the Happy Rabbit font to write Jocelyn in lower case. That way, each of the letters had rabbit ears on them. Change the orientation of the path from End to Start so that the text curves along the bottom of the egg. Change the character spacing to 12 so that the bunny ears are not touching along the path. I hope you will try to Easter project this Spring.

The latest version of Canvas Workspace for the PC has the Fit to Path feature which can help you take your designs to a whole new level. You can download the latest Canvas Workspace for the PC update by going to support.brother... and then searching for your model of Brother Scan and Cut. The software version we are working with is 2.3.1 which was released on 2/6/2020.

Yes Donna Jo. This is easy now that Brother has updated their software. You wouldn't believe how many steps we had to take to curve text before that.

Carolyn, I always like to Draw first while the paper is stuck on the mat good. It is more stable that way. I cover all of this in my latest course which just launched today so I hope you check that out too.

Can you use some of the border designs in canvas on fit to path

Thanks for watching. No, you can’t fit a shape or other object to a path. You can only fit text to a path. There are text fonts which look like graphics and you can fit them along a path, making curved borders out of little graphics.

Hi Wendy, my course is based on the downloaded version. You do not access it from a web browser. It is installed and in the course, I teach you how to install it. You go to support.brother.com to download it.
