If I were to choose an overlock stitch to finish a raw edge, I would choose option number 24 on this sewing machine @0:19, rather than option number 18. After selecting option 24, I would have then selected an appropriate stitch length to make the triangles that you see within the stitch pattern more narrow. Generally speaking, sewing machines that have a stitch option like option 24 on this machine (although it goes without saying, other sewing machines have it as well; one just has to look for it) this will give the most well-done overlock stitch that a non-serger machine can offer for finishing a raw edge and making it look practically identical to a overlocker/ serger's stitch capability. Again, this is my opinion.

How do I adjust the dials (width length and tension)? Also how do I get it to differentiate between #5 setting and #3?
