Don't quote me on this but I heard of you put your hands in water before dipping them in oil it doesn't burn you. It creates a barrier or something of that nature.
There's actually a very common term called "chef's Hands" pretty much anywhere that deals with food for money chefs are known to be able to hold things that would literally melt the skin off of a normal person's hands I used to think it was an over-exaggeration until I saw it in person😂. Bare hands can really tolerate things that would destroy anybody else's hands

The way he held up the last 2 utensils towards the camera and then threw them on the floor afterwards took me out 🤣💀⚰️I'm surprised he didn't throw the frying pan too🤣
Even though I won’t dip my hand into oil… ( but on boiling water ) I just take Craker type things holding its tips from hot oil…,,It’s done mostly when all the utensils are in d sink & u hv come to almost end of that day cooking & u r really exhausted to find & clean those spatulas… Also upon burning our hand I get more aware & adrenaline rush happens do my rest of chores like cleaning entire dishes… it’s painful but somehow I use this to burst out my anger& depression
LMAO ok so aside from dipping them into frying oil, I'm that guy. My coworkers constantly tell me things are hot and I just be grabbing them with my hands. Key is not to hold it for a long time, short bursts of heat ain't shit. Anyone remember hot potato game. It's the same concept. Y'all out there with baby fingers lol (also hoping he just washed those hands lol)
Exactly, this is normal for a chef or cook to do they just normally don't. I have to hang on way too long to get a burn that annoys concerns or hurts me anymore.
@@Bdoc76 i was wondering if another chef was ganna comment !we have a joke in my kitchen where when training new cooks i ask them if they know how to check if the fryer is hot enough they say no and i stick my finger in the fryer for a second !!😂 then they do it but dont know to flick it off asap !!!! Lol then i show them where the dial is lol

Yes, yr right but sadly we are losing this technique, if you watch fake videos on RU-vid and scroll down into the comment sections, sometimes it takes a while to find the comment where soneone says, this is fake. I'm not talking about this video in particular but many many other ones where its obvious they are acting and acting badly bit people have lost the ability to read emotions in people's faces or tell when they are lying because that's what acting is. Have you heard of microexpressions and a dude called Dr Paul ekman who studied them? Once you learn these expressions its hard to not see them and easy to tel a iar.

For anyone wondering, the chef likely had a layer of water on their hand and is taking advantage of the Liedenfrost Effect Essentially the water acts as a protective layer around your fingers that prevents injury. You can’t do it for long but you can dip it in for long enough to grab stuff without any risk of injury. Don’t do this on your own. You’ll probably hurt yourself.
You get your hands cold enough and wet enough. It's called the leidenfrost effect where it creates a barrier between your hand and the oil and it won't burn you as long as you do it quickly
