Just a little word of advice. If you fill your bobbin very full, you might get trouble with the tension as the bobbin thread can not lay across the bobbin as shown in the video. I had that problem and the upper thread pulled the bobbin thread to the top which made the stitches look wrong.
I bought one of these to sew leather and vinyl. Does that job brilliantly. Could the cameraman zoom in on the results in future. It's difficult for people to see the results from the stand-off position she/he filming from. Thanks!
I love the speed control also the cutter for trimming your thread & the impressive needle threader.😁 but I don’t think I will be doing much quilting. Someone told me I must be a hobbyist (a bit of everything 🤔) so what should I be looking for. Can you help 🤞🏻
Hi, love all your videos the're so in formative, they have really helped me get started on my new machine. I have the same innov-is F420 as in your vid. But I have a problem I'm hoping you can help with. My back tacks from the bobbin thread all seem to look so tangled, the underneath just looks like a mess of bunched up tangled thread, that's sewn down. Is there something I'm doing or can do to sort it out so it looks neat, and not tangled. Thank you. Elaine. x
I am having difficulty replacing the needle. I finally managed to get the needle out and put thicker one in and managed to get that one out really quickly but cannot get the original back in. I have only had the machine about a month so still getting the hang of things. But I am stuck until I can get the needle back in.
I'm having this issue where I can't even sew a straight line without the 'safety device has been activated' error message being displayed. I have tried as many things as I can but can't get it to work! Any advice? X
Thank you for a really useful demonstration. I would like to have seen the "knee lifter" in action as I have never used one before but I'm sure I will figure it out. :)
Hello I have this machine and have been using for the last couple of month. However Ive been having a bit of trouble lately where there is a bit of nesting at the start of a straight stitch from the underside of the fabric. I tried to change the tension, clean the bobbin but the issue still persists. Anyone has any recommendations please ?
I just ordered this machine, and I am so looking forward to it. It will arrive on Wednesday :) I have a Bernette B38 at the moment, but, I never really got in with that machine, I do not know why as it is also a very lovely machine, has more stitch pattern than this brother, but I never used them much.
I guess it’s not only about how good the machine is but how much it goes with your personality and taste :) details like the sounds it makes when it sews, the way it looks, the way the stitch looks, the feel it gives, etc..I’ve noticed each machine has its “personality”; I know it may sound funny but at least in my case it’s true. I have a Bernette b37 and although it’s a very good machine I want to have a Brother again. It was the best machine for me. I am thinking of purchasing this model! How did you like it? Your opinion would help :)
@@luciatat4084 I LOVE the Brother Inov-is F420. Such a difference to the Bernette B38. When I got the Bernette B38 I noticed how small that machine is. Not a bad machine at all, but just not for me, I can not even tell you why I did not like it. The Brother has a larger LCD screen and I find it overall better to use. The decorative stitches, in my opinion, as well as the buttonholes, look much neater on the Brother Machine. I never manage to sew on a button with the Bernette, but I can with ease, with the Brother. Also, the knee lifter is a game changer, i my opinion. I just love the Brother and can highly recommend it.
Hello Petra, could you tell me why my machine is tangling up the bobbin thread as I start to sew, it's only on the back tacks at start and end after those it sews fine, tension is good but I just can't stop it from tangling on the underside of the material. 🤞 Thank you. Elaine. x
I know this series of machines comes with a "square feed drive system" but I don't actually know what that means. Are the stitches on this machine neater / more professional looking than on say the A-series, e.g. A150 or A16, which don't seem to have the SFDS?
I just got this machine today and had the A80 for a while. This is far superior..I must admit I havnt gone into the difference between the box feed system and the square feed drive system, but they are more powerful in feeding fabric through. My Juki is a box feed I think and it's too powerful to take the daisy flower stitch foot, but the Brother fs420 does. The stitches do come out beautifully and it's a lot quieter all round than it sounds on the video!
I got the F420 on Saturday and I love it!! I was fretting over which model to get and I’m so happy that I went for this one! such professional quality but really beginner friendly 😺 (Pity I don’t stay in europe - would have been nice to buy the machine from Frank Nutt shop seeing as their vids really convinced me it’s the way to go)
Hi, I am interested in a Brother NV1100 machine but am yet to see a decent video demonstration in English. If you could do that I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Hi Linda, We can try and get round to this for you, the 1100 works very similar to this machine it is just slightly bigger, the screen works in exactly the same way and features like the thread cutter are also identical. Hope this helps. James
What is the weight of the Innovation-is F420 please? I am very drawn to this machine but weight is a critical factor for me - as I am getting older heavy lifting is becoming a bit of an issue! If I do go ahead to you have an ex-demo machine? That is also of interest to me; thank you. Jane Murphy
£599 at the moment in UK and as its popular and we're in a sewing epidemic, they have to be pre ordered. If you look around you'll probably find one as they've just come back into stock in a lot of places. An ex demo one would be worth looking out for.
Too much time spent on intro and bobbin 5min. Close ups of what you were demonstrating would be helpful too. Really wanted to see knee lift in action, reviews mentioned height limatation.
