I found your channel,when I got my PE770. The tension was off . Your quarters trick fixed it. When my machine gets in a mood,where needles break. I also gonto your channel. Thanks for teaching me.
I have seen that before. The take up lever has a lever hooked to it that connects to a reciprocating shaft. You can see it by removing the bull nose on the left front of machine and also removing the front plastic cover over the #3 to 4 threading path. The crank gets thread wrapped around if and locks up machine. You have to reach in with tools like a tooth cleaning hook and long needle nose pliers to pick it out.
