Centering is done do the old fashion way, when we had typewriters. Count the longest line, divide by 2. Add spacing to the shorter line to center the shorter word.
Anything that plays BluRay will play DVD. Personally, I just get ones that Refurbished on the Lower End, on eBay or Walmart or Best Buy, because they basically all behave the same. Though I often prefer Sony or LG or Philips. The ones I got were refurbished, still going after 5+ years
