This video shows how to tape apart a TZe tape, reconnect the ink ribbon and put it all back together. If you're tired of brand-new tapes getting ruined, this is the video that will save you money!
Thank you! First of all, I'm glad to know that this is a thing that happens, and I'm not the only one to put in a new cartridge only for it to not function properly. And thanks for saying that this thing was glued together; another video, which was about 3 minutes long and had only music and no commentary, just kinda glossed over that and showed the top being gently lifted off! I'm glad I didn't have to try begging to return it, or just call it a $22 loss.
Great video, thanks. Saved me throwing away a cartridge. One small issue with video is it is too dark. I had to take apart the old cartridge to see the correct threading of the spools. They are black on the black tape and extremely difficult to see.
I found this video to be excellent. I took the clear backing tape off then routing the black tape, after which replacing the stiff clear backing tape is easy.
Thank you! I fixed my cartridge!!! Your video was clear and nicely done. I didn't get the clear tape and the backing to line up perfectly so it is a bit off but not enough to really matter.
Thank you so much Erez for your patience to make the repair and the video! (my tape was more co-operative than yours, thankfully!) We had THREE faulty brand new tapes, and we thought our old printer machine must have been faulty so we bought a new one! We live in a remote area so this took a long time, and I gave the old machine 'one last chance' when I found your video online thanks to Google - and it worked! The tape was the issue! As we live in a remote area, this fix has saved us $27 per tape (alas the first 2 'duds' were thrown in the bin weeks ago, but at least I have saved one) And also, when something breaks here and we have to wait for a new one from the store it takes weeks, so your video has also saved us Time. I wish I could send you the $27 but I will send you Good Wishes and thank you again!
I thought for sure I would have been able to rethread this sucker without taking it apart. Thanks for the video. S saved me $22. The one I was using was brand new but bought it over 10 years ago so no way of taking that back for replacement.
Thank you for posting this! These dumb cassettes have sat dormant for a year+. Hard to see details in video, however, busting it open -made it all work out.
good job, I have the same "I FIX IT" pry tool, LOL, i love that name brand of tools, It is a running inside family joke to say "I FIX IT" after every little project at the house.... anyway, thanks for the video, I had the same issue and fixed it it 10 min. Better than spending another 15$ on a new cartridge.
Poor lighting - hard to see black on black in low light. Also, didn't need to see several minutes on one operation (threading the black tape back in), otherwise helpful and thanks for the input
