Brother QL-1110NWB WIRELESS Setup on Mac FULL TUTORIAL & eBay Poshmark etsy 4x6 Shipping Settings 

MAC USERS! Adding in case anyone else has the same problem. My printer settings on my mac would not recognize the printer wirelessly and wouldn't autofill airprint. Open airport utility > select your base station > go to the menu bar named "base station" > click add WPS printer > select first attempt > hit WPS on your printer > go back to printer settings and add the printer. This did it for me! Finally it's wireless.

Yes I Started looking to purchase this printer after I saw another video you did about it months ago. Everywhere I checked it was back ordered but I finally received mine in the mail yesterday and in the process of hooking it up to my Mac. It wouldn’t connect like the instruction said so I called brother and they told me I had to buy some super expensive firewall from them before the printer would work🙄 But because of your video here I hooked it up with no problem and it’s working wonderfully!! *THANK YOU *THANK YOU

Follow this guy, it was a breeze to setup with my Mac with this video. I did set up with the aftermarket 4x6 rather then the labels included with the printer, I think that was helpful information. My 4x6 labels print with no problem or errors. I use Pirate Ship for shipping.

I first bought this printer becuase of your review (love the machine btw, couldn't be happier). recently ran out of my first brother roll and switched over to an aftermarket DK roll and got nothing but red light issues. came across this video in hopes to go back to the factory reset and try again and you just started talking about the red light issue. I would like to add some insight to this video, just my experience. I used the suggested labels off amazon for the BROTHER QL 1110 NWB. I used my “BROTHER” labels that came with my printer and they worked fine on my iPad through pirate ship. ALL good until it wasn’t. I have troubled shooter with BROTHER on two occasions after my tablet stopped printing, well I was told it was the amazon suggested labels. Soooo...I bought BROTHER labels. Again no luck. Then I bought an HP laptop to do all my business stuff. Alas, success! Brother labels, HP laptop, Brother QL 1110 NWB back working like a charm. I feel professional again after all of that. I love the BROTHER label printer & my laptop for that matter. Thank you CollecPicker for your attempts at helping me with suggestions. Life is back to normal over here

Hi Eric, Thanks so much for this video. We have a small business and this printer is amazing (when online). Having an issue with the printer staying powered up over the weekend. Come Monday, the printer power light goes off and when I turn it back on I have to reinstall all over again it does not automatically reconnect to the WiFi. I've tried setting up through WPS and through the cable, but every Monday it still powers off and will not auto connect to the WiFi I have assigned to it, am I missing something? Any feedback would be awesome.

Excellent video, dude. Brother may not have had a Mac driver when you made this video but they do now. It's super easy to set up on the Mac.

How do you change your default settings on brother QL-1110NWBc label printer to standard 4x6 page size, without having to change it each time before u print?

Still having trouble getting the label to print in 4x6 (i'm not using ebay, poshmark, etsy, etc - just printing from my computer), despite following all your directions. what am I missing?

The printer comes with DK-1247 (4.07 x 6.4) labels but they also sell DK-1241 labels which are 4x6. If I stick with brother labels for now which labels should I get for selling on eBay or would either work? I’m just confused why brother has labels that are 4.07 x 6.4 and another that is 4x6.

If I loaded the included starter labels in when setting up, should I reset the machine and then put in the third party labels or no need? And thanks for the vid....really assisted!

I print about 50 labels at a time. can you set it to cut between each label without software? Like if im just printing from the Pirate Ship 4x6 label option? Or do they have to all come out in a roll and I peel each one off? (not a dealbreaker.. just curious). I am on a Mac and I dont really want to download software.

Having just bought this printer and followed this brilliant video I was ready to rock but then my labels went backwards into the machine...However, I can't thank Eric enough for taking time out to tell me what I was doing wrong - so simple - I hadn't put the label paper BENEATH the sensor (on the right with a little yellow triangle on) so my labels were going backwards! Not any more! It's easy when you know how...Huge thanks again.

Ok, here’s my update. When I go to get everything going everything you say to do happens, the right lights come on and everything then, the power light goes red. I did start with the brother label rolls but have switched to the ones you recommended and I also did the reset with the google router. The printer is not coming up on my apple tablet ugh 🤦🏻‍♀️

Great video! I don't have the WPS button on my router. I tried plugging in the printer with a USB cable instead, but the computer didn't detect it. Any suggestions how to get it on my wifi in that situation? I managed to create a LAN with it, but super enjoying to have to switch network between printer LAN and my wifi all the time.

OMG I think I fixed my issue 😭 This is what I did. I went to Print Settings (where I’d be about to print the file) and clicked Manage Custom Sizes under Paper Size. Clicked the “+” to add, and select Non-Printable Area: Brother QL-1100 with Paper Size: 102mm x 152mm and clicked OK. Then I clicked Scale to Fit: Print Entire Imagine. And I finally managed to print the whole sheet I needed. I took me weeks to figure this out, but this video gave me the idea. 🙏🏻 I have no idea why it didn’t print with the given Paper Size of 102mm x 152mm and wants me to make a custom one with the same measurements. But it just worked. Thank you!!

Can we also do the auto cut Amazon labels on Mac ? Or is this only available on Windows ?

I finally got one! I ordered it from Brother directly this morning for $279.. Everyone was selling it for $380 & higher.. I am also in the process of returning my Dymo 4XL. I want to test the software first on the brother however I am sure it will work fine for the type of marketing labels I am printing. Thanks for all your help. I ordered labels from your link.

HI, I'm based in UK and struggled to find printer compatible with Mac but bought this after seeing your great vid. Got it all set up, ready to print and my labels have gone backwards! I was initially so proud of myself and now not so much...The labels I got from Amazon say they're compatible with this model but they do look slightly different to yours; Brother site say the problem is probably as I'm using non Brother stock (er, yup). Hi Collegepicker, Love your diligence in helping us UN informed consumers with straight up answers. The printer companies seem to suck you in only to find out later you need $300 plus software to even get them to work!!!:( I have made the mistake not only once but twice! First an Epson TM-p80 then my very favorite worthless piece of S***T!! Zebra ZQ510 $500 and $299 software needed to work. I am not going to make buying my 3rd another waste of money! But even worse frustrating hours wasted to only find out I'm really SOL:( I really like this printer your reviewing and is most likely the one I will get and my problems will be over! But I do find the Brother TD4550DNWB very attractive for the fact it's roll feed no cartridge and can continuously feed right from the back! And most of all for my purposes it does receipts. But I'm find out it's a android PC base only. Is that the case? Thank you in advance.

So your 4 x 6 sample print worked with the starter labels that come with the printer, however, after connecting my iPhone 11 pro by way of Bluetooth, it won't let me choose the printing size; it has an automatic 104 x 164 printing size which makes the label come out extremely small and on the wrong angle.

@TheCollegePicker Have you found labels for this machine that are perforated? If I use cut at the end of each label its time consuming to put the labels back in order and its also time consuming to cut each label with scissors when doing long multiple label & packing slip prints. I normally print 20-30 orders each day all at once then rip each label at the perforated area with my other printers. So if I forget what I am packing I can look down and reference the packing slip. ( ADD is real lol )

So the labels that Brother includes in the package must be set to 4 x 6 to use them? I tried everything and my labels keep coming out very tiny and on the wrong angle.

I got mine today! I love it now after figuring out how to turn off auto cut at the end of each label because They all fall to the floor and I have to match up the label with packing slip lol. I am looking forward to checking out the Software for creating custom labels as well.

Finally figured it out, 10 days working on this, trying to print from my S8 on Bluetooth, Ended up buying after market labels, rebooting printer, an got cell phone to ask if I would Accept Bluetooth from printer, then went to pirateship to print a test label, IT WORKS Outlaw

Finally connected to my Mac but now, when printing, it gets to the end of the label and makes a horrible noise and shows the red light. Printing using the 102mm x 152mm setting but still nothing. Any ideas?

I’m having so much trouble with Mac. I tried to reinstall and everything until now I don’t know how to make it work 😢😩 I dont have the NWB one. But it worked at the beginning and now a few weeks later it prints like 1 inch and just stops and blinks red. Tried different labels already, generic and legit Brother one. I dont know anymore :( I made sure to have the correct size as written on the label, which for me is 102mm x 152mm but it prints just a little and stops 😢

Great videos! I'm at 4:19 holding the WPS button on the Brother printer and it's blinking. Went over to my router and held it's WPS button but nothing is happening. WPS light on the router isn't blinking or flashing or coming on whatsoever. Brother printer is left searching for a signal but isn't picking anything up. As a result, my mac won't add the printer when in settings > printers & scanners > + ... any ideas?

im assuming this is user error but I need help. I reset my printer becuase I keep getting stuck. so I do everything in the video you say to do. it all goes as planned till I get to the part where we go to the settings and hit printers and scanners. once I click that and then the plus sign my brother QL-1110nwb does not show up. ive tried it like 4 times.I reset the printer and start from ground zero and every time it doesnt show up. I am assuming im missing a step but im not sure what. Any advice? thankyou.

This video makes it look so simple but my router has no WPS button. Even with a USB cord could not set up until I finally figured out I needed to update to Monterey. Then with the brother setup wizard it was moments to connect wirelessly.

when i print in safari browser it doesn't print 4x6 the label is in enlarged. if i save it pdf file it prints fine. is there a setting when you print from safari browser that i need to change

I don't need this info personally but I like your vids lol I actually had kind of a similar problem recently. I got a Canon laser printer and I was using it on my crappy HP which randomly disconnects from the internet for no reason all the time (I tried fixing it for a long time to no avail, I think it's a hardware issue) I had a lot of legal work so I needed a cheap reliable computer and got a samsung chromebook. All my phones have been android but I never had anything with Chrome OS before. I always delt with windows for the most part. Anyways, It was easy to set up printing but I could not figure out how to scan to the chromebook. Everything I read said it was impossible. Everything from Canon said they don't support Chrome OS, only Windows, Mac, and Linux etc. Everything from Google said they basically don't have a scan capability but they will develop it eventually. There's a way to connect by putting the printers IP address in Chromes URL box but for scanning, that only seemed to work for HP. Then I finally figured it out. My Chromebook has the play store on it and there is an Android app called Canon Business or Canon Print Business. I previously thought it would'nt work because it's designed for android mobile devices not chrome OS and I tried downloading it before just in case and it would not download. Well, I tried it a few days later (after computer was restarted)and it downloaded right away and works. Companies really need to make their stuff more user friendly and have better instructions and help because THAT was ridiculous. I've never had that much trouble setting something up. I'm actually really good with computers.

this isn't working on my iphone 11. when I go to print, the brother QL-1110NQB autofills. But then it says paper is 103mm x 164mm and it is greyed out so I cannot change the size. Why wont this work? This should be easy, but it's a pain in the a#$

If you're having trouble setting up wirelessly via WPS method, plug the device into your MAC and download the "full software package" off the Brother website and go through the install wizard

This does not work with MacOS 14.3 as there is no AirPrint driver to pick from the dropdown.

Ok, I tried everything in this video, several times and it didn't work. I tried USB setups, didn't work. App setups, didn't work. Bluetooth, didn't work. I tried the Brother Printer Setting Tool app, didn't work. Adjust router settings (2.4Ghz only, turn off band steering, etc), didn't work. Turn off all wifi devices in the area, didn't work. This is using a Mac mini M1 that is up to date (14.2.1 at the time of this comment) on a mesh wifi (Amplifi HD). It's possible the mesh wifi is an issue, I'm not sure. Every time I tried the WPS setting, I'd just get a red blinking power LED (which I believe means there's a network communication issue). After 2hrs, I was ready to put it all back in the box and return it, as others have done when working on Mac. The printer never showed up for AirPrint. I was able to print using USB, or Direct Wifi, but not AirPrint. Finally, I decided to click on the download options for MacOS 13 on the brother website (instead of MacOS 14). For MacOS13, you can actually download an app called "Wireless Device Setup Wizard" which is not available in the MacOS 14 downloads. I downloaded that and followed the easy setup steps for the Brother QL-1110NWB to work wirelessly and it worked! Once I was able to manually pick the SSID and enter the password, the printer finally connected. And once it was connected, it was available to be setup as an AirPrint option, yay! No wonder people give up on this thing...
